Our experience was fantastic. The food was amazing! My friend has a severe gluten allergy and pretty much all the food on the menu was gluten free (even the fried chicken!) and she was so excited. We went right before 6 and it was quiet and delightful but com 6:30 the crowd started to pour in and it became very loud. It was not anything that was truly bad but it did take away from the experience a little for me. Loved it though, will definitely go again!

Best pasta joint in LA! Been coming here for over 20 years. When I discovered that they had GF options, I literally did a victory dance because I didn’t have to give up on one of my favorite places. I wish they’d make their tiramisu in a GF version…that’d make this place perfect.
Shockingly less then average- gluten, dairy, egg, soy and taste free. I would have said something but since we came here for a happy occasion I just left to never come back.
Charming spot with a cozy vibe, offering a range of fresh dishes and great coffee, perfect for a casual meet-up or cozy date.

Found this little cafe on Christmas Eve and we're glad we did. Went for breakfast. The food was very fresh and tasted great. Coffee was also very nice. Plenty of gluten free options so everyone is covered. Service was fast and attentive.
Expect a cute spot with large portions and a focus on tasty dishes, though service might not always keep up with the buzz.

Honestly, I don’t think I saw this place at its full potential, but I will give you an overview of my personal experience. Hopefully you can find It useful.
Food: I stumbled upon Bru’s Wiffle while looking for a restaurant with French toast. This place has a number of French toast options. I chose the Honey Poppers French Toast. These are bite-size crispy chicken in housemade siracha & louisiana hot sauce. I wasn’t impressed. The French Toast was thin and flimsy. It tasted like It was made on sandwich bread. I should’ve known better than to get chicken poppers. I asked for a of chicken thigh. It was juicy and crunchy. Had I known better, I would’ve chosen this chicken option to begin with.
Next, I ordered an avocado toast topped with eggs. The melted cheese is a great addition to this dish. However, I prefer sliced avocado rather than the avocado spread.
My partner had the Basil Pesto Crispy Polenta Avocado Toast with egg. This is a gluten free meal. The egg is an add on to both Avocado toast options.
Beverage: This place has a Watermelon Mimosa that I’ve been trying to imitate for the last four days. It was sweet and fruity.
Payment: Bru’s Wiffle doesn’t accept American Express. As an Amex Gold Member, one of the benefits of the card is the 4X points at restaurants. If this was a quick order to go, I wouldn’t mind. But, on an $150 bill, knowing this sooner would’ve probably impacted my choice to visit.
Overall, I think that this restaurant had some options would be pretty tasteful. Unfortunately, I didn’t get to try them during this visit.
A vibrant spot known for its amazing variety of organic drinks, hearty brunch options, and a buzzing atmosphere, perfect for a laid-back hangout!

This is a long time favorite of mine .. their Spanish latte... Sooooo good .. especially the strong version... Their food is ok... They run out of healthier options pretty early, even at 9.30am, such as breakfast burrito gluten free tortillas... So go there early if you need or prefer certain options...

Our food was fantastic and came out quickly. Nice gluten free bread option which is in my pictures.
Coffee was outstanding and the carrot juice was the perfect blend of ingredients.

Great service. I have come several times and the staff have helped me choose a gluten free item. The breakfast is good and this time I had a more traditional meal and it was flavorful too. They have vegan and gluten free options.

Good food, but can take a while especially when they're busy. Haven't had anything I didn't like. For a main entree, their polenta & mushrooms is a good gluten free & vegetarian option. But I liked the diver scallops better (just gluten free) with a side of baby spinach. For appetizers, my favorite is their whipped eggplant. It's so tasty!!! And for dessert, their chocolate torta is the best!!! It's very rich and decadent. Chef's kiss.

The tacos are great, but if you have food allergies, STAY AWAY. I have celiac, and I spoke to the server, and had a relatively high degree of confidence that I could be accommodated. But after my meal, while waiting in line for the bathroom, I observed the kitchen put slaw on a plate of flour tortillas, look at the ticket, and then proceed to dump the slaw BACK INTO THE PREP LINE.
I have to do a lot of research to go to restaurants and understand that I eat out at my own risk. But a busy Chipotle manages cross contact better than this, and I did end up very sick (shocker). FOH talks a good game, but this restaurant does not take food allergies seriously, and is not safe if you have one.
With an abundance of vegan and non-vegan options and a chill vibe, it’s perfect for enjoying fresh juices and great people-watching.

Been coming here every Sunday for years, after our early morning swim (see previous good reviews). It’s never too busy and service is usually good, and the food is always the same and tasty. They also do a tasty gluten free baguette.
The matcha latte is terrible. They use cooking matcha instead of ceremonial, so it’s a greeny poo colour, instead of bright green and it tastes vile. They add sweet vanilla powder to it to make it taste better, which to me tastes sickly.
Coffee is very good.
Unfortunately, something odd has happened with the staff lately.
Firstly there’s never an issue with being seated; we’re there at 9.30 and there’s plenty of room. But recently we’ve arrived, been told we’re not allowed to sit down, then seen people arrive after us and be seated. We’ve explained we were there first and just been shrugged at and told to wait.
We also always sit on a 4-top out front or in the back. Mostly it’s just the two of us, but we’re always taken to a 4-top by a server, probably because the 2-tops are in such awkward places. Today we were told we couldn’t sit at a 4-top as it was “rush hour.” I’d say 60% of the tables were empty, there was no queue, plus they’d just seated 2 women at a 4-top and there were 3 other 4-tops with 2 people. We pointed this out, but were told we had to take a 2-top, where people squeeze past your table and you get their bum in your face. So we left. So, despite this being our regular, we’ve now decided to not go here anymore. I’m not so bothered about where we sit, if it hadn’t been for 2 women just having been given a 4-top.
A cozy spot with a chill vibe, clean tables, and delicious offerings that keep people coming back for more.

Not sure about older low star reviews maybe they did what any good business should do and make improvements basd on feedback. This is my third day in a row coming here and the food is delicious (I had 2 different breakfast burritos and some pastries which they offer in gluten free versions) service is timely and staff is friendly. Environment was good with clean tables and atmosphere. The only complaint I have which is minor is when places don’t mix the lattes. Very easy and simple improvement which I am sure they will make based on other improvements I gave noted since previous reviews. Id definitely recommend!

We’re visiting from Maryland and stopped for lunch today. Our server, Lucas, was great and helpful in pointing out the gluten-free choices. Our whole family enjoyed their meal and would highly recommend!
I've wanted to eat here for a long time and it was worth the wait! It's a really fun place to enjoy outdoor brunch on Montana Avenue in Santa Monica. They have a few gluten-free and vegan options. It's quite tiny, so expect to wait for the restroom as there is only one.
It’s amazing Has a huge menu From brunch chicken and Waffles to tacos Pizza Pasta Salads you name they Got it and if your vegan they have a page just for you and Gluten free options galore and a full bar Crazy good food and service

Ok this place has amazing food!! Their portion sizes are excellent and everything is super fresh organic and farm-to-table. They use this amazing seeded bread from a nearby bakery and local pasture-raised eggs that are bright orange.
Go for the Niçoise salad for a tasty classic.
Also the avocado mousse dessert is a great gluten-free option and to die for! The outside seating is lovely. A great lunch spot for sure.
Great experience at Patrick's Roadhouse. It is a very laid back restaurant with fun, very unique decor.
We sat outside, there were heaters but it was pleasant out so they turned them off for us.
My friend had gluten free pancakes and I had the breakfast burrito with no meat along with a slice of pie. We did wait a while for the food but it was worth it. Prices are perhaps a little high but the food is worth it.
I'm in love with the Lemonade Restaurant, my number one place I had to stop at was Lemonade when coming to Cali. Love it so much id go back this weekend 🤣 on a serious note theyre beverages are quality and pretty cheap. The food there is very healthy and they have gluten free and vegan options as well. I would totally recommend at least trying this place fan or not of the lemonade drink. Oh and if you guys see this please add a location in colorado!

Massilia is a French restaurant nestled in Santa Monica near third street promenade, featuring a cozy interior and an intimate patio.
Our group ordered the steak frites and lamb shank and both were quite delicious. Unlike most steak frites, the steak was thicker and you were able to select the temperature as well. The fries were perfectly crispy and deliciously seasoned. You have the option to get a chimichurri or bearnaise sauce, both of which are excellent options.
The lamb shank is a gluten free meal and was so soft it pulled right off to the bone!
In terms of cocktails, La Française was a clear winner. Anything with St. Germain is an obvious choice.
Our server was very friendly, also French, and such a delight throughout the meal service.
I definitely recommend dining here for modestly priced options with great ambiance.

The Brussels sprouts were so flavorful it set me up for a huge disappointment when my entree came. The halibut was the most flavorless dish I’ve had in a while. I didn’t detect one spice, not even salt or pepper. It was a real disappointment. The service and atmosphere were good though, the temperature notwithstanding (it was quite chilly in the restaurant), and they were good about food sensitivities with gluten free and other options noted on the menu.
Fantastic upmarket steak restaurant in Santa Monica. The service was excellent and the food delicious. Their speciality is 🥩 steak. Many gluten free options also available.
Fantastic service, great honest recommendations and a friendly welcome from the staff. Food was very tasty - burgers can be served with a gluten free bun - decent sized portions at a good price on all the meals including the kids menu.
Really nice to eat outside on the beach with the table and chairs in the sand, definitely the change of scenery we needed this week! We'll be back again 😁

5 first bites out of 10 were almost all fat, tortilla was like trying to cut paper or cardboard, my hand began to hurt from pressing so hard to cut it so I gave up and got a steak knife.
Well, you're thinking: you could pick it up and just bite it right? Yes, tried that, super greasy all over my hand, guess that's why they put the paper under everything, either to absorb some of the grease(?) or to make it easier for them to clean,(?) not just to make it slide around as you struggle to cut through stale tortilla.
The WHOLE POINT of eating out is to have THE RESTAURANT do the heavy lifting, not to inconvenience the customer to make it easier on those working! I hate the attitude of this place: it's better for them to charge you first, sucker you into giving a bigger tip than you would after you experience the poor food and service.
Seats and table were dirty. Straws for drinks are NOT PROTECTED from CONTAMINATION by a paper wrapper, and TOUCHED BY EVERYONE who tries to get one from the glass full of straws they set out FOR YOU TO HELP YOURSELF TO. GROSS!
And if they think THAT'S ok, what OTHER HIDEOUSLY DISGUSTING things are they doing in the kitchen!?
Silverware seemed clean, but spotty, like they're using the cheapest soap they can... The whole experience had way too many red flags...
They charge you for the meal first and ask for a tip, you order by queuing up at the bar, so kind of a fast food experience. Learned my lesson, I'm never tipping before I get the food and service again, they've obviously found they get better tips BEFORE people experience the food and service....
Poor service, had to go get the steak knife myself, asked what kind of tortilla it was, regular, not some weird gluten free or something as I suspected for this area and the atmosphere they're trying to project, so they're just serving up stale, average food in what looks like an upscale setting, but not worth what they're charging for it.
$10 specials seemed like a good deal until we saw what we got for it, two TINY fried tacos that were incredibly average that had barely any meat/ingredients for my wife, and a "burrito" 1/4 the size of any burrito I've had before.
Ah well, I'm trying to lose weight anyway, this way I won't have to wrangle leftovers, so I tried to be positive about it...
But...
My birria beef was barely shredded, causing me to have to practically do surgery to separate the huge gobs of fat from the beef, and struggling again to carve off a piece of beef from the huge chunk.
And they CHARGE $5 for a small plate of stale hard tortilla chips and salsa, so we ended up paying $50 for this meal when we would have enjoyed fast food more than this nonsense.
I was literally SAWING through my tough burrito like WOOD to carve off a huge chunk. I left one bite behind I was so disgusted and fed up with the whole experience, and to signal them something was wrong, but they already had my money, so I doubt they care.
Unless you're working nearby and willing to pay the premium for average food and location, you'll have a better experience somewhere else.
Comically bad. SO BAD that I have to think a lot of, if not the majority, of the good reviews are fake... Especially supposedly foodies raving about this place? No way. Maybe if they just THINK they're foodies but have bad taste?
I just don't believe it, and we all know there are fake review service businesses...
I mean, if your TWO specials BOTH suck...

Stopped here for breakfast while visiting the Pier. Friendly staff, delicious food and drinks. Not cheap, but the ingredients seem to be of high quality. I believe everything was gluten-free and made with almond flour. We were able to order breakfast and lunch items at the same time which was nice. 3 people at our table ordered waffles either just a regular waffle or chicken and waffles and surprisingly they all came out at the same time and all of them were still hot. It is a small location but our party of 6 was sat quickly and our food was delivered timely. Would recommend this place if you want good quality food and service.

Absolutely delicious! I got the gluten free blondie, mint lemonade, and salad with salmon add on. The lemonade was tasty, but I didn't taste mint. The food dishes were amazing! I definitely would recommend coming here! Pretty location, friendly staff & ample parking!
Surprisingly good!!! Loved every dish we took (Cobb salad, the burger (gluten free bun) and pork tacos - all very recommended). Great prices, great cocktails, great service.
Seaside on the Pier was great. We sat on the rooftop and had a wonderful evening. Chef David was very accommodating since I have Celiacs.. highly recommend this place.
We had a great experience at Art's Table yesterday afternoon for MLK day brunch. We don't live in the area and were searching for a brunch spot near where we were, and this place came up on the what felt like hidden local gem of the street Montana, which felt like the antithesis to what one might experience on Third Street.
Thanks to Yelp reservations we were seated right away inside, when every other table inside and outside was occupied.
Let's start with the coffee; I've said many times if a brunch/breakfast place doesn't have good coffee it has no business being in business. Art knows what he's doing with his coffee. It's richly dark and bold in taste, with no acidity and served in delightful ceramic owl mugs that are exactly what they seem… It would be worth coming to Art's just to get a cup of coffee.
The only caveat with the coffee is that a cup costs $4. I've seen premium pricing for coffee when they bring you a French Press but this, despite how good it was, seemed pricy for a basic cup of coffee.
There are plenty of gluten-free options on the breakfast menu including Johnny cakes, a cornmeal-based pancake that looked amazing (though we didn't have it.) And the dish my wife and I both got a version of , The veggie eggs, which is served with gluten-free potato pancakes topped with greens delicious portobello mushrooms that are perfectly cooked, and two poached eggs, topped with a wonderfully spiced bernadine sauce. The eggs were poached perfectly. The potato pancakes (and to be fair to all concerned if a restaurant that I've never been to before has potato pancakes on the menu that's all my body will allow me to order) were a little thin for my taste, but speaking of taste, they tasted pretty good albeit a little greasy, but considering the very nature of potato pancakes it's hard to complain about there being oil involved. In our "eye-vesdropping" that we did of other dishes walking by it seems there were other options which had more substantial potatoes and, again, potatoes of any kind will draw me closer to your heart.
The dish was served with a generous salad that was tasty though in terms of volume, but visually overpowered the rest of the dish.
We would definitely come back to Art's Table and try some of the other tantalizing things that we saw walking by (to be clear they were being carried by serving staff and not walking by under their own power.) The only thing which was a slight downer was our super friendly and cool waiter who seemed to really know what he was doing when he took our order and greeted us, but then never spoke to us again until after we finished eating and wanted to know if we were ready for the check. Again he was awfully nice but you kind of expect, or at least hope that a server will check in with you after you've received your food just to make sure that everything was OK. Everything was OK so we would've had nothing to complain about but it would have been nice to have seen him again before it was time to get the check.
