Finally a Cafe that caters for allergies! Specifically for me, most of the menu could be catered as gluten free and I wasn't disappointed. The menu was varied, not just the normal Cafe staples which was so refreshing and the staff were lovely. A lovely lunch on my last day in New Zealand. One happy tourist and if I were a local I'd be a regular. 😁

My boyfriend & I had a lovely dining experience here recently. Our waitress Hannah was so attentive to our dietary restrictions (Coeliac) and it was clear she genuinely cared. The same goes for the talented chefs in the kitchen, who were super patient and understanding and took the Coeliacs/gluten allergy very seriously. Thank you all for making this such a lovely date night for us! We’ll definitely be back.

Came in for a quick lunch. My partner ordered the fish and chips with mushy peas Gluten free and I had the pork tacos, beef brisket lollipops and the chips. Atmosphere was nice and chill. Quiet for a Saturday lunch time but there was a lot going on outside. Service was quick and easy. The server helped my partner who had a bee sting which was much appreciated. Food came out fast and was temperature hot. The chips were the best thick cut pub chips I’ve had in a while. Good amount of salt and perfect amount of aioli. The fish was cooked well and wasn’t dry. The brisket lollipops had great seasoning and flavours were sweet and fragrant. The corn tortillas on the tacos did fall apart more than I’d like but everything else for the taco was delicious. The salsa and mole were delicious with the pork. Haven’t had a bad meal at The Kestrel to date. Thanks team

Food was amazing! I wish I'd remembered to take some photos. The only let down was service was a little slow- as in getting drinks initially and then the tables weren't cleared at all...but the food came out quickly and I'd go back again simply for the food options! 4 of us are coeliac and there were so many dishes that were either gluten free or could be modified for us 😍

If you are a coelaic this is the place for you! We are on a cruise and Auckland is one of the stops. We had tried so many different places with no luck. When we got here we asked the friendly staff about gluten free options for Coeliac. She walked us through the menu and told us all the options that are not safe! All gluten free options have a dedicated fryer and they were knowledgeable about coelaic and cross contamination. When it came to ordering every item was noted that it was for a coelaic and when we received our food it was “*insert food* for coelaic” Would come back to Auckland again just for this feed!

I ordered gluten free burgers and I specifically signalled to the store via Uber Eats that the burger needs to be gluten free (clicked gf bun and gluten allergy) as my partner has cealiac - we ordered the bacon backfire for her. When the order arrived we were suspicious as gf was not checkmarked on the box but the bun looked gluten free when compared to another gf burger. Tried to call the store for half an hour but they just did not answer the phone. After my partner tried the burger she immediately got sick due to the gluten in the burger which was not supposed to be there. Seems like ticking the gluten allergy checkmark does not matter in the Albany store - in other Burger fuel stores this never happened before... Stay away from Albany if you have an allergy!

Been there twice over the last few months, always great service and very delicious creative food options aswell as decent (iced) coffee. Also a good selection of delicious Gluten- free meals and desserts. I highly recommend trying their sweet Buckwheat waffles and the vanilla cheesecake. 👌 I also like their outside tables on the sidewalk beside a quiet street, at least on the weekends. Prices and quality match. I recommend trying it out yourself ☺️ Cheers

We have coeliac disease. The staff here went out of their way to make sure our food was gluten free. They have a separate fryer for gf chips. We've been here often as the service is so good. One of the best, if not best Burgerfuels in NZ. Thanks heaps.

The Quality has slid so far off point its beyond disappointing, my cn cheese was all but flavorless, someone decided to lump in half a head of lettuce, and y gluten free buns were dry and old tasting, My fathers burger only had a chicken patty that had less than half the buns coverage the gluten free bun was again old and dry tasting and the spud fries were hit and miss on actually being cooked all the way through, Truly disappointing, If you want a good experience with burger fuel at least try the Botany branch, this one has been getting worse for the past year

What a surprising find, only due to a gluten free group. No idea this place existed. Awesome spot and the food was absolutely brilliant. You’d pay twice as much for half the food in the city and not get to look at cute little lambs in the field. The food was 10/10. If you haven’t gone. Go!

Am coming positively to you going forward:-) As per our earlier comment, we had been today to have beasty burger and I must say I wasn't disappointed at all since it was one of the most filling and amazing vegan burgers I had. I have coeliac disease which means I can't have gluten or it'll make me extremely sick. I asked if I can have my food without contamination and without gluten which most burgerfuels abide by and use safe/separate appliances etc. The staff here obviously don't know anything about cross contamination and how to prepare food safely as I had fries with my gf choppers and my choppers were with my friends fries who wasn't gluten free.. my stomach literally started bleeding after this event and I am still sick. I also never eat out anywhere and am extremely safe at home. I just wanted to eat at a gluten free place for once in 6 months and not feel worried. Very let down and disappointed, I would not reccomend anyone with gluten insensitivity to eat here.

I have been to a few gourmet burger places especially since in the last 10 years it has become more competitive in that scene with quite a few different new places popping up here and there. However, for myself and I believe quite a few others, Burger Geek has come up on top. My work colleagues and I regularly come here due to it’s funky, stylish atmosphere and of course, their awesome burgers and Oreo shakes! I personally love their ‘Broli’ burger as I believe it is the most tasty chicken burger I have ever had. Sometimes I even love to add an egg to it for a small fee. Speaking of fees, this place is not only cheaper than Burger Fuel and Burger Wisconsin but also better! If you’re looking for a new place in town with great burgers I recommend! Yes, they have Gluten Free, Vegetarian and Vegan options!

My husband got me a gluten free hamburger last night. The bun was dense, dry and tasteless. His first order was wrong and he had to drive back to the shambolic staff to get the right order. An hours endeavor all in all. His impression was the staff were young, slow, disorganized and confused. This fits with my last in-person experience where two teenagers talked, 1 server, 1 customer about mutual friends parties for 5 minutes while waiting directly behind to be served. What thas happened to the service we used to get from young colorful staff who were super efficient when the store was on Dom rd.

Good food, fair prices. Had gluten-free options for celiac (potato cake). The beef noodle soup was average tasting but a good portion of beef. Big breakfast was good. Fries were amazing: huge bowl of crispy fries with aioli and ketchup for only $7.

Can’t recommend enough. Always a delicious quality burger! With the best service. Beef burger is always juicy and tasty, with the best homemade burger sauce. The chips are always perfectly crispy and fresh. I am gluten free and the team makes a lettuce burger, changes their gloves so it’s safe, and then the chips are in seperate oil from the chicken so they too are safe!

Ordered a gluten free burger off Uber eats which is advertised as having naked chicken tenderloins but came with crumbed chicken which is clearly not gluten free. This is the second time it has happened (I should have known better). Please stop advertising gluten free items when you cannot get it right
