Such a cool place to eat! I got a spinach bagel made on gluten free bread that was a little disappointing because it wasnt super flavorful, but my husband got the pineapple pizza on gluten free crust and that was super good! I appreciate there being gluten free options! They will make the bagels or sandwiches with gluten free bread! And they play hawaiian Jesus music and they just put on such a nice atmosphere here. :) this place deserves more business!
Famous for its vibrant smoothie bowls and fresh ingredients, this trendy spot offers generous portions and a lively atmosphere, though prices are on the high side.

One of my top choices of coffee shops in Hawaii for hot Kona coffee. There was already a long line at 8am, however the staff worked efficiently to keep the line moving. Order ahead option is available with online menus. It would be helpful to have separate beverage only and food lines as well. This Waikiki location has gluten free and plant based menus. Highly recommend!
Nestled by the beach, this spot boasts live music, unique smoothie presentations, and a diverse menu to satisfy everyone’s cravings!

CELIAC REGRETS. Beautiful place, fun atmosphere, SUPER UNINFORMED staff. My gluten intolerant family member with celiac disease ordered a burger with gluten free bun. The apparently mostly teenage staff didn't know enough to warn her that there is flour IN the burger?? What kind of recipe is that?? WHY would you offer GF bun for wheat-containing patty? She felt an allergic-like reaction in her mouth a few bites in, so I went to ask about the ingredients of the burger. The cashier had to check with everyone else in the joint to find the ingredients. Only the cook seemed to know that the burger was not GF...why would you put a gluten-containing patty on a gluten-free bun?? I see that this is definitely not our smartest moment for not checking the ingredients/reviews beforehand or for trusting the non-dedignated gf menu, but this place is also irresponsible for putting allergens into a dish that shouldn't contain gluten to begin with. She will be in horrible pain all week, so much so that we might have to change our flight dates so she's not sick on the plane.
Renowned for its fantastic coffee and a welcoming vibe, this spot often has a line but is totally worth the wait for a cozy experience.

I just love this place! First and foremost the staff is amazing, I came here with my 9 month old and my hands were full, and I believe the employee’s name was Daryl, he went out of his way to help me. I couldn’t have been more grateful…this isn’t off that one experience, I’ve been here nearly everyday for a month. The staff here is very kind, and the atmosphere is great!
The coffee never disappoints, and being that I’m gluten free, there aren’t many options, but the ones I do have are amazing.
Highly recommend their cappuccinos, and their gluten free almond cake, and their gluten free chocolate caramel dome.

I’ve had juices, smoothies, and açaí bowls here that are always on point. When I need a good, protein packed meal, the ahi sandwich on gluten free bread is does it. The bread is locally made and dressing on the side salad is house made. The staff isn’t super friendly - somewhat cliché of a yogi, college age health bar. Plus, they’re always kinda busy. I suppose when you’re this healthy and good, you can afford to be meh.

Great find during our self driving tour. Large savory and sweet crepes in regular or gluten free (buckwheat flour). Both made on the same griddle though. Enjoy if you are not super sensitive. Coffee, smoothies, and more. Order at the counter, and they bring it to you. Little place, not fancy, quick service.

So good. They have great soft serve with the benefit of also being gluten free and dairy free. We’ve come here at least once a week since arriving on-island. My favorite is the ube-niu swirl with sesame brittle.

Wow, not only do they not have gluten-free bread available (why not? It’s a very coming allergy), but they were rude about answering my telephone query. Simply “No.”

Fantastic service, coffee and sweets! From what I Could tell, most if not all were vegan/gluten free! The staff is extremely friendly and offered several free samples of Halva and a tea they offer. Also tried the pistachio bites, very delicious pairing with a coffee! Prices are pretty fair considering it’s Waikiki. Will return again!

This place is incredible! The owner is super friendly, the fruit is fresh, and the service is outstanding. We got the açaí berry bowls which were gluten free and dairy free (perfect for my wife who can’t eat that). If I’m ever back in Honolulu, I’ll definitely return. Amazing breakfast spot tucked into a small shopping plaza. Self check in at the stand outside, then they call you back when a table is free.
I had the meat scramble and breakfast potatoes, my wife (who has celiac) got the Benedict on gluten free bread. Both were absolutely amazing, and the server knew to ask whether it was a gluten allergy or preference, and even checked about potential cross contamination.
Absolutely recommend Cafe Kaila to anyone looking for fantastic food in Waikiki!

I have allergies to gluten and dairy and called to make sure there were options. There was some uncertainty when i arrived with my friend, but thankfully they were not too busy yet and were able to take a little extra time to accommodate my allergies. I ordered a BALT sandwich with GF bread and they placed it on wax paper before pressing it on the grill. Turned out great! Also got a coffee with oatmilk.
Will be back.
Great espresso and homemade juice blends. Their homemade almond milk is wonderful and light and I like the turmeric latte. High quality ingredients and a nice selection of vegan and gluten free pastries and snacks. Great atmosphere. Like a traditional type of coffee shop. Juices and smoothies are a bit expensive, but the coffee is reasonably priced.

Food: Good portions for a good price. The menu’s 100% vegan, and all their meat substitutions are gluten free. I had the BBQ chicken platter, which was a delicious helping of ‘chicken’, salad, and Mac’nCheese. On the side, I drank a tasty pipeline paradise smoothie and some soft serve. Only distraction is the dessert was a little too sweet. Speaking of sweets, they sell daily-made cookies and doughnuts.
Service: the food came quick and they made the chicken extra spicy just for me. Since they don’t have a bathroom, I used the one at a cafe across the street.
Atmosphere: a quaint little restaurant with limited seating outside and interior perimeter. They pump Reggae over the speakers to put everyone at ease.

Saturday 10.30am was very busy but the line moved fast and we found a seat without a problem (parking needed some patience though).
Coffee was good, and THEY HAVE GLUTEN-FREE brioche made of almond flour that was DELICIOUS: flavors, texture and sweet enough but not excessive.
The place itself is beautiful and full of history, their mission is significant and the service was friendly and helpful.
Definitely will go again.

Came here for takeout. Had prompt service - 5 entrees ready in about 15 minutes. Host was knowledgeable about gluten free options. Risotto and salads are gluten free but unfortunately they add flour to their madras curry so it is not GF. Overall solid choice with lots of options and a handful of outdoor tables.

Best food in Waikiki! Many gluten free options and staff was great recommending the tamales w/meat. It was served to me with a smoke release and my wife’s tres leches French toast did not disappoint. Highly recommend the spicy salsa that was offered as well. Chef is amazing with all the food hand crafted and the presentation for every dish made me want to try the whole menu. It was the perfect local spot and we could walk from the main hotels so even better. Great coffee and excellent service. With limited days on the island this is a must!

The cutest cafe EVER. The earl gray scone was so amazing I didn't want yo share and we ended up another one. The chocolate chip cookie was ALSO amazing. The acai bowl was also very good and fresh. The granola is made in house and gluten free! No nuts either. The coffee was also amazing, got the honey cinnamon latte and it was delicious. Not too sweet. Totally coming back for more. The best discovery we had staying in O'ahu!

Gluten free avocado toast in Waikiki - what’s not to love there? Food was excellent and very beautifully presented. Staff seemed overwhelmed and tense - a couple of extra workers trickled in later but it still took almost 30 minutes for them to produce two orders of avocado toast. It was worth the wait but they need to work on their flow!
