Ordered a gluten free/dairy free cake for my daughter's birthday party and it was wonderful! The cake design was super cute! I love all of the food and pastry options here as well. I just wish it was closer to where I live in Buckley.
A paradise for chefs and food lovers, this spot offers a vibrant mix of unique flavors and delightful finds that will tantalize your senses!

I LOVE THIS grocery store so much! Every time that I drive up the I-5 corridor for work I make a point to stop there for lunch. If you are a chef, foodie, or top chef fan you are going to like this place. It’s like DISNEYLAND for your senses.
As someone who eats gluten and dairy free, I have a plethora of options.
My go-to’s are:
* Salad bar (so many unique flavors)
* The soup bar
* The gluten free dessert section
* Produce (it’s like candy for your eyes 😳)
* The random sale items on delicous goods
If you’re not gluten and dairy free get the single serve mango cake. It has whipped mango mousse, fresh mango pieces, and the yellow sponge is so moist!
A cozy spot with heartwarming vibes, perfect for studying or chilling out, featuring plenty of seating, good music, and a welcoming atmosphere.

Where do I begin with this one? I have nothing but ALL GOOD THINGS to say. First, the owner, Tina, is a phenomenal, kind, and genuine human being. The way the shop is designed, with the heartwarming words of affirmation written on every to-go-cup, makes a difference in people's days. When I first discovered this shop, I sought a local coffee place to study for my college classes and snack in a cozy environment (not my home) to focus. Cozy is an understatement; the Common Ground Coffee community radiates positive energy, and the atmosphere gives off waves of peacefulness. I'm not a coffee drinker, so I typically get a Steamer or a tea, which is a nice alternative for noncoffee drinkers like myself. Food options are vegan and gluten-free, inclusive of those with food sensitivities. I particularly like the couch, windows, and plants inside the shop. It does get busy in the morning and early afternoon, but after about 1430-1500, the pace slows down a bit for those who don't like crowds. The music played is usually either an Indie pop or an R&B pop that could be more engaging but catchy enough to vibe out to. If I had to make any suggestions or changes, I suggest adding thicker pillow cushions for both the back and the seat. The hours are customer-dependent dependant, but hopefully, in the future, the hours could be extended a little longer to 1800. The prices of the drinks are reasonable, and I understand that there is a competitive nature with as many coffee shops as there are in Tacoma, but maybe adding a rewards program such as a punch card for the regulars or even new customers to cut some of the prices. Something like a free small Coffee or beverage after every 12th visit or buy one dessert, get the other 50% off. Other than that, I do a place like Tacoma, especially Hill Top, which could be a safer place. This will sound SUPER cheesy, but despite this, whenever I walk into Common Ground Coffee shop, and either the owner, Tina, or staff greet me warmly, I can work on my class assignments worry and stress-free. Thank you all for being such rock stars; I really appreciate you all!

Wow, some of the best vegan sandwiches I ever had. The pearl sandwich was delicious. Loved the presentation on a tray with salad. Lots of vegan options in the menu to choose from. They also care to provide gluten free and keto friendly dishes. Great location at 7 seas Brewery to pair up your food with probably some of the best beer in Tacoma/Seattle area.
This cozy spot boasts Instagram-worthy decor and a vibe that makes you want to return every morning for delightful drinks and eats.

Their gluten free pastries that are not packaged come in from the bakery in the same boxes as regular pastries and are stored with regular pastries. cross contamination central!
I’ve been saying it forever: Tacoma needs more healthy food options. I guess someone finally heard me because last year we got both a great salad shop (Crisp) and a phenomenal juice bar.
Well, calling Gather a juice bar feels like underselling it but juice-smoothie-bowl-latte-avocado-toast nirvana is a bit of a mouthful.
The Juice
Options run the gamut from “liquified salad” to super fruity. I’ve tried almost all of them and haven’t had a single one I didn’t like. My favorite is Sunrise, an apple-lemon-ginger concoction with a color that makes it as pleasant on the eyes as the tongue.
The Smoothies
Quality juice makes a quality smoothie. The ones made with coconut shreds were a little gritty for my taste but all were tasty.
The Bowls
Before Gather, you had to go to Gig Harbor to get an açaí bowl in Pierce County. Gather makes a great one as well as another smoothie bowl made with berries and almond mylk (and a tropical one that I haven’t tried because it kind of weirds me out that it’s made with pineapple and spinach). If the owners weren’t such great people, I would absolutely think they were lying when they said their granola was sugar free. It tastes like gingerbread in the best way possible.
The Lattes
Not made with coffee (although they sell coffee, too). They sound confusing on the menu but they’re actually pretty familiar: a matcha, a tumeric tea, a subtle hot cocoa, a take on a gingerbread latte and...a pink one that’s kind of it’s own thing. I haven’t had all of them but the ones I’ve had were delicious.
The Toasts
Two different types of avocado toast: spicy and not. Each is made with an entire avocado so you know it’s good. The other option, a heavenly almond butter/banana/honey number led me to actually say out loud “Why am I so excited about toast?” All are are served on a sourdough bread that is made in some kind of special process I don’t understand but is possibly friendlier to people with gluten sensitivities and/or other allergies.
There’s no getting around the fact that it’s pricey but it’s all made with high quality ingredients and I’ve found everything to be filling. Additionally, they give workers paid time off and I don’t mind paying a little more if it’s actually going to employees.
TL;DR: This place is great!
Great coffee and gluten free treats! We are going to return to try the other drinks and food. If you want a Tacoma feeling coffee shop, this is your place. Bonus it's next to the park for the kids to play.

Omgoodness!! Our daughter & her husband invited us for breakfast to this awesome lil place because, first of all, it was her birthday & second, it was her FAVORITE place to eat. It's reservation only & I understand why.
From the moment we walked in we were greeted like we were friends. As we were seated, food was coming out & it was beautiful! Yes, I said beautiful. Works of art! The watress explains what the dish is as our mouth waters just looking at it 🤤. I cannot wait to order! We were given water, our choice but not just any water. It was Cucumber, lemon & Lime. Talk about refreshing!
Apparently we're in the season of summer as far as the menu goes. Lucky for us 😀! I couldn't decide what to get but I'm a French toast buff & settled on the Blueberry Bread Pudding French Toast & for good measure topped it off with their famous Candied Bacon 🤤. Ya'll, it comes with REAL maple syrup, whip cream & a lil dollup of vanilla bean ice cream with a strawberry on top 🥰. Hubby ordered (candied) Bacon Wrapped Breakfast Burrito & omgoodness, it was gorgeous! Picture worthy. And was it huge 😯! Weighing in at (I heard) 4lbs? Our son-in-law had the Lobster Bomb. I didn't taste but boy I wanted to! Lol daughter had the Gluten Free Mushroom Xtra Shroom Biscuit Hash. Wow, I've never seen a more beautiful hash in my life. The chef brought out his mushrooms, showed them to everyone. Talk about fresh & colorful! I don't care for mushrooms but when I go back, I want some 😀!
Anyway, have you ever had food that tasted as good as it looked? I can say that I have & it was here @ Tibbitts Fern Hill.
It's a lil pricey, but oh so worth it!!
Charming and cozy, this spot offers delightful drinks and a lovely harbor view, perfect for reading or catching up with friends.

the best coffee shop in all of Tacoma. The spiced chai is actually spicy and it's so delicious. They have a mix of gluten free and vegan pastries and they keep their gluten free pastries separate from their regular pastries so it's celiac safe. Highly recommend!
