Horrendous experience. We recently heard that this restaurant could cater to those with Celiac disease. So we gave it an go today!! Everyone was excited. After asking repeatedly to confirm everything is gluten free and free from cross contamination, before/during/after, we were assured it was. My 10 year old is now violently ill. I might point out that it was 2:00pm when dined and we were the only table there. All any parent of a child with Celiac asks is that a restaurant is just honest on whether they can guarantee gluten free food and possibility of cross contamination (within reason). If you can’t, we’ll bring something with us!! The severity of the reaction my son experiences is always in proportion to the amount gluten he ingests. If it’s a slight cross contamination, it’s usually a couple trips to the toilet to vomit, bit of Tylenol then he’s good. The severity of this particular attack tells me it was direct ingestion of wheat. We’re moments away from going to the hospital. To the waitress that served us and the owner of this establishment…shame on you. I wish you were here watching my child experience the effects of your neglect. Watching your child suffer like this is heartbreaking. While I’m on it…the service was terrible too. Seeing as how we were the only table in the place, why did I have to go to the bar to tell her we were ready to order, again to order a drink, then again to ask for the bill. The Canadian guilt in me still left a 15% tip. Regret that now. Edit to this post after the fact…Owner contacted me and refunded money. Offered up apology. He did clarify that food is prepared in same kitchen so avoidance of cross contamination cannot be guaranteed. He said staff are supposed to tell the customers this. He’s committed to retraining and educating.

We always love visiting Ulis. Last night we were visiting and I believe Dean (bubbly guy with beard) served us— he is the best! So knowledgeable and attentive, always making great recommendations. Plus there are many options for people with celiac disease. Thanks again Dean and ulis staff!

Another White Rock gem that took me way too long to try! Really nice staff and vibe here. It’s so hard to find spots that compare to service and standards of Vancouver and Wooden Spoon does not disappoint! We came for a birthday lunch/brunch and it was pretty busy for a weekday. The service was great. The food was delicious and the drinks were great. We are vegan + gluten free and dairy free + gluten free so there isn’t too much for us on the menu, but that’s ok. Unfortunately in 2024 it’s still a struggle to find restaurants that cater to non soy + gluten eating vegans + dairy free peeps. I would definitely come here again. It’s seems like a really awesome local spot to have some awesome food and drinks!

The service felt uninvited, but still good at filling my water when empty. I couldn't tip much because they didn't over exceed my expectations in service, but the cooks, made big size portions, perfect nutrition balance, almost no ingredients that my body would fight against ; gluten, processed chemicals, good eats. Just service was lacking a bit. Could have been a full 5 stars.

CONSIDER ME SHOOK. I just ate probably the best food I have ever had at a café AND ITS VEGAN?! YOU MEAN IT WONT HURT MY STOMACH?! AND YOU CAN GET IT GLUTEN FREE?! Never going to another coffee shop ever again consider me a customer for life. The owners Ben & Mannel are the most incredible kind people and it reflects in their staff. The fact I’m eating an almond croissant right now and it’s vegan. Again… just absolutely blown away from the amount of options they have for people with dietary restrictions !! So beyond satisfied thank you grounds and greens!! hope you enjoy the photo of me devouring my croissant <3

Amazing cafe with wonderful atmosphere, filled with locals. Staff incredibly helpful and food absolutely delicious. Huge mugs of coffee, which helped our jet lag. Beautiful baked goods, we even bought a gluten free muffin to takeaway for our son, which looks incredible. Perfect breakfast or lunch spot. We will be back! Thank you.

We got the Pad Thai gluten free, and I must say that it was the worst, most tasteless Pad Thai I've ever had in my life. The satay chicken was yummy though and the waitress was pleasant when we were ordering for takeout.

The restaurant was clean, including the bathrooms. The server was very sweet. However, I would return for one dish - Chicken Wings. For those who follow the Gluten Free dietary restriction, these Chicken Wings are made with Tapioca starch and served with bell peppers and onions, and a side of Sweet Thai Plum sauce (not homemade).

Amazing waffles and crepes ✨ The attention to detail of the man working there was a rarely seen professional touch 👌🏼 The food itself was balanced nicely, the fruit was fresh. The options are a nice variety of sweet or savoury depending on what you're feeling. The portion is a great size. AND there are both GLUTEN FREE and EGG FREE options! I cannot stress how amazing it is to find something so very tasty that isn't going to hurt after 🙏🏼✨ Thank you so much for offering these options with the same good quality as the regular ones ✨ Highly recommend.

We would normally stop by at your shop for ice cream when we are in your area. After being spoken to rudely by an older lady at your shop when we asked her about some of your ice cream ingredients due to some allergies. She needs to work on her customer service and not to take questions personally. We are required to ask these questions due to allergies to eggs or gluten! May we make a suggestion in the future to list some of your ingredients of your ice cream if it is gluten free or not? This would help with many customers who cannot eat eggs or have gluten issues. From this day on, we will no longer continue to go here and will tell ALL our friends and families to go to another place where they have excellent customer service and are appreciated. Unfortunately, we have to give you a 1 star because Google will not let us give you no stars. Hopefully your customer service improves.

We had a wonderful dinner there last week! They were so kind, and attentive! The food was soooo fresh and flavorful, and they were flexible with substitutions. They also offer gluten free options, and very kid friendly!! I am so excited to have a wonderful donair place in town to frequent.

We had a party of four. My husbands steak was rare, he ordered medium, one persons steelhead was partly uncooked, the lamb looked lovely. I have celiac disease, and phoned ahead to check protocols, I chose a gluten free meal, but sadly was glutened, and will suffer for it.

Wow, that is most fresh and soft pizza crust I have ever had. Whole family just loved their pizza. The ingredients are organic, fresh and delicious with gluten free options. The staff were so accomodating and pleasant we will be ordering here regularily from now on. This pizza place is part of OJAS they have a wonderful menu of fresh bowls/salads and smoothies. So many healthier choices looking forward to trying them all!

Super fancy coffee and chocolate shop with amazing specialty chocolate creations. Valentines, Easter, Mothers Day, Christmas - any special day they will have some limited edition creations on hand and even more stuff special order on their website. Today we tried the raspberry cheesecake with gluten free crust and a few weeks ago I pick up a few of their big fancy Easter eggs. The only down side to their products is that they are almost too beautiful to eat!!!!

I have celiac disease and the employee who helped me was able to list off flavours containing gluten off the top of her head! (She also double checked the allergen list for me.) They also keep GF cones in a seperate area and said there's minimal cross contact risk in the soft serve machine! Delicious flavors and the wait time is definitey worth it!

I love everything about this place. The service was above and beyond. The food was amazing and the location was great. I will be going back again. We asked our server if a roll had gluten in it. She answered, took our order and left. When the food came she made sure to bring us gluten free soy sauce which was a wonderful touch.

My wife has a lectin and gluten deficiency so it’s difficult when ordering food from anywhere to which we understand. However we ordered a pizza and they missed a couple of ingredients on it so we called back to just mention what’s happened in the hope we could just return it and get one made correctly. We were told that the best they could do is “NOT CHARGE US FOR 1 EXTRA TOPPING THE NEXT TIME WE ORDERED”. My wife was frustrated and used an expletive, not directed toward anyone, but just in general and attempted to again just ask for a replacement and she was told under no circumstances will that happen and the manager preceded to say “ITS ONLY ONE INGREDIENT AND ITS NOT A BIG DEAL”. I called back and the manager refused to talk on the phone saying my wife was rude to him which didn’t happen at all she was frustrated. I mean technically if this guy purchased a car and it only came with 3 wheels would he drive off. Will not be coming back here ever again and will spread the word customer service was atrocious.

Really enjoyed our dining experience. Celebrated my son’s girlfriend’s birthday with an emphasis on Steak and Gluten Free options. In addition to our steaks we shared the Tuna Stack appetizer and Brussel Sprouts, Mushrooms and Steak Fritz as our sides. Served by the owner and he is very passionate about the customer experience and food quality. We would highly recommend Onyx! Worth the trip from Maple Ridge!

I'm so impressed with this place I stopped eating to write this review. I asked if some items were gluten free and I know this isn't always easy to every single thing on a menu, specifically if it's fully gluten free or "may have been in contact" kind of gluten free. My request is of preference but all this aside, when I asked about an item that was a tough one the lovely waitress CALLED THE OWNER😳🙏 how amazing is that right? I had a lovely chat and ordered exactly what I wanted "gluten free". If you're looking for service, kindness, good food and warm hearts, eat here now! Dhanyabaad 🙏

I recently visited Leela Thai Restaurant and had a wonderful experience. The Gluten Free Chick Pad Thai was absolutely delicious! The service was fast and the staff was very polite. Prices were also quite good. I highly recommend Leela Thai Restaurant.

This used to be my favorite store but I won’t drive from Vancouver anymore after they stopped carrying my favorite vegan and gluten free brands. They used to have the best cocunut bread from Kelowna - don’t carry it anymore. They used to have the best mushroom truffle vegan perogies from west bank - they don’t carry it anymore. They used to carry the best Parma-veg (spicy) as a sprinkle replacement for Parmesan cheese- they no longer have it. Sorry natures Fare- you lost all of my business. Your new buyer sucks!

The best fish and chips in all of the lower mainland! Large portions! Make sure you ask for their homemade Tartar sauce. I am celiac so they pan fry the fish in egg. Unbelievably good!!Whenever we are in white rock we order from here!

Ordered 2 pizzas for pick up. We ordered the BBQ chicken and Gluten Free Olive lovers. They were both very tasty and were ready for pickup within 15/20 minutes of ordering. They are open late on weekends, which is nice for a later evening pizza craving.
