great ambience and service. lots of gluten free options. loved everything i ordered (meat platter) but wish i got lamb instead of the beef kofte. i felt like the flavor was good but didn’t exactly jump out at me– especially in the stews. but the standout for me was the rice pudding!!! one of my favorite desserts of all time.

I was referred here for their Gluten Free pizza so can only speak to that. I hate to be the downer here but this pizza does not taste like real pizza. It’s very thin and greasy. Much closer to an overcooked flat bread. The space is also more restaurant/bar, doesn’t give that good pizza joint feel. I won’t be back.

We enjoyed a great dinner at Joe's. We were able to get a last-minute reservation while in town for one night. The food was excellent, but the service was top-notch, and I would give our server, Jeffery, 10 stars if I could. First, they were extremely accommodating with my extensive food allergies. My son and husband have no food allergies, so they got to enjoy a lot more than me. I opted for the grilled seafood platter that came with scallops, lobster, and shrimp and for a side sautted mushrooms. Everything was made gluten-free, also dairy, soy, peanut, and treenut free. It was hearty and delicious and I don't often enjoy a meal so much, especiallyseafood. It's hard to find places that can accommodating me. My son got filet with crab Oscar and my husband a ribeye with bearnaise. They shared a mashed potatoe and a lobster mac. Jeffery was attentive and funny, and we enjoyed his stories. It made the experience even better. We are looking forward to eating there again next time we are in town.

Very tasty Indian restaurant in the heart of D.C. Came on a date and sat at the front-most table in the street-facing alcove, best table in the place imo with good views of both the restaurant and the street vibe. Drinks were very good. I recommend the Cardamom Gimlet if you're a fan of gin. Wife got the Pinky Up and also enjoyed it very much. I can't recommend the 'tellicherry hangar steak' enough, it was DELICIOUS and I'd order it a thousand times. Plenty of Gluten-free items on the menu as well; staff are aware of cross-contamination with wheat as well; I got my steak with the naan on a separate plate so my wife could try it. She had butter chicken and it was very on point to the traditional recipe, if maybe a bit sweeter. Overall a solid 'would definitely go again'.

The food remains delicious and the service, especially, around the bar, has been much better. Huge restaurant with several dining areas including a couple that can be sectioned off for a big group/ party. Lots of outdoor seating as well. It's usually busy but it's worth the trip just for the flour tortillas. If you have gluten intolerance, my apologies. The fajitas (all types) are by far my favorite. The newish brisket tacos and fish tacos are also on my short list. The chimichangas were also good. I also love their chips and salsa. The salsa is a little watery but I still like it more than most restaurants. I'm glad this place has stuck around with all the new restaurants and upgrades to this area.

The food was okay- not allergen friendly, and when asked our waiter said he would check with the cooks and he never said anything about it afterwards. I'm gluten free due to a mild to moderate allergy. Nothing on the menu was clearly marked other than to say they can't guarantee allergen free and to check with your waiter. The waiter seemed too distracted. The food we got was just alright, nothing super special. The restaurant was beautiful and the area around the restaurant was fun! We went around Christmas time and there was an ice rink so it was fun to watch the skaters gliding around as we ate and chatted. It's worth a chance, but be careful if you have any allergies.

My friends and I were pleasantly surprised by a number of things at this establishment. First, it should be noted we had a party of three with one vegetarian, a pescatarian, and a person with a gluten allergy. We were seated almost instantly despite it looking very busy, by the main manager no less, and immediately asked about allergies. The manager himself then marked a menu (they use paper menus) for every item that could be made on the Gluten Free Fire and or made with gluten free substitutions. That's right, this location has a SEPARATE grill/fire for gluten free items. They also have, as far as I am aware, the only non alcoholic wine flight in entire northeast DC area. And though they were sold out of the flight, we were able to order one of the non alcoholic wines for the table and it was quite delicious. All but one item was brought out quickly despite the crowd. All the food was perfection. They also gave us separate plates and cutlery for sharing to ensure the gluten free items stayed gluten free. However, just a heads up to those who have hearing difficulties, this space is very loud. And it's a low lighting environment, relying entirely on candles at the table, so if you have difficulty with low light, please make sure you have a flashlight on your phone. Also, the candles are real. Don't light yourself on fire.

The menu is incredibly vegetarian/vegan/gluten-free friendly, everything tasted fresh and well seasoned, the kitchen was able to make accommodations even beyond those available by the menu, and the bartenders were quick and attentive with their cocktails. There is a lot of seating too, both indoors and outdoors, which makes this a great place for a large group.

Such wonderful people. I’m a newly-diagnosed celiac and it’s been hard. Walking into Thai Chef Street Food feels like stepping into a bustling corner of Bangkok right in the heart of Dupont Circle. From the moment we arrived, the place was alive with energy—packed tables, the sound of sizzling woks, and the constant flow of takeout orders whisking by. Despite the rush, the staff was welcoming, and we quickly found ourselves seated, taking in the colorful, vibrant atmosphere. I decided to go for the green curry after reading rave reviews, and it did not disappoint. The curry had the perfect balance of spice and creaminess, warming me from the inside out. It’s one of those dishes you savor with every bite, and honestly, I wasn’t surprised when I saw people around me ordering it as well—it’s a definite crowd-pleaser. The portions were generous too, leaving me full and satisfied without feeling overly stuffed. The cocktails here are an experience of their own. Not only are they crafted with care, but they also come out looking like little pieces of art. I couldn’t resist snapping a few pictures before taking a sip! The flavors were bold and well-paired with the meal, adding to the overall experience. If you're a fan of street food, this is the spot for you. The menu is packed with Bangkok-style street eats, perfect for anyone wanting an authentic taste of Thailand. They even have plenty of gluten-free and vegan options, so there’s something for everyone. Yes, it gets noisy, and the tables are close together, making it hard to hear at times. But honestly, that’s part of the charm. It feels like a lively street market where the noise just adds to the authenticity. And even though the place was packed, the wait for food was totally reasonable. It’s clear they’ve mastered the balance between quick service and quality food. After such a satisfying meal, I’m already planning my next visit. And for those nights when I want to keep the flavors flowing at home, I’ll be hitting up Pull Up DC to snag some of their fresh flowers to wind down with. If you're in Dupont Circle, Thai Chef Street Food is a must-visit—just be sure to bring your appetite!

First time I went with my family they tried to pass off a gluten reduced beer as gluten free. They gave us quite an argument when we sent it back. The service and food was good. The second time we went back my daughter ordered from the gluten free menu a salad and after waiting an hour for our meal they brought her a salad with a slice of bread in it. She specifically said she didn't want the ficcaccio. Our drinks didn't come in a timely fashion and the food order didn't even come for my grandson at all. My food and my granddaughters food took 50 minutes to get to the table. The couple besides us ordered the same time as us and received their food and drinks and paid their check and left before my granddaughter and i got our food. When we complained to the manager for the second time, he offered to comp our meal but that was of no help as we had run out of time at that point and had to leave to catch our train. So what I had hoped to be a pleasant meal to end our trip resulted in a mad dash for the train and the twins eating Mc Donald's.

The main reason to go to this place is affordable food and drinks. Great specials for every day of the week. Giving an extra star because the server was great and was willing to choose a gluten-free option for “servers choice” drink special, which I really appreciated. I got the cheeseburger, which was cooked a little more than I asked, and was definitely from a frozen patty, but still juicy and good for the price.

You get the best bang for your buck if you eat in, though. There isn’t too much gluten free friendly food on the menu but it’s right next to DuPont circle which is full of good options.

I loved this place when it was on Georgia Ave, but after two tries at the new location (under new management I imagine), I won’t be back. The service was terrible. I waited 30 minutes to have my order taken, then another 30 for my friends glass of wine, and my beverage never came, but then showed up on the bill. They overcharged and pricing isn’t explicit (every plate comes with injera, but they’ll bring out another basket without asking & charge you $5 for it in addition to the entree?) The server we had was very forgetful & had too many tables. He also simply did not know what gluten free meant (we have an allergy). The quality of the food unfortunately has diminished since their reopening. Still decent, but portions are MUCH smaller, and just not anything to write home about with so many other great options around.

A popular pit-stop in Washington with awesome coffee, finds plenty of repeat visitors enjoying its welcoming atmosphere, and well priced choices.
