Found out about this gluten free food truck at a festival in Santa Barbara. Delicious Pupusas. Just like the ones I had in El Salvador!. Their Latin American menu is unique! Must visit again
Great food, the burgers are big and delicious, and they got gluten free options!! Make sure you check them out anytime, nice staff and great place to get a burger (so you don't expect nothing fancy lol)
After shopping around Camino Real Marketplace, I had some time to spare and decided to stroll into Anna’s Marketplace Bakery. What a delightful find! The bakery is both charming and inviting, with incredibly friendly staff. I tried their gluten-free chocolate chip cookie, and it was, without a doubt, the best I’ve had to date. Whether you’re gluten-free or simply enjoy high-quality baked goods, this bakery is a must-visit. I look forward to returning and exploring more of their offerings!
Delicious! Great broths and amazing pork belly and shoulder. The corn is my favorite add-on. I can hardly wait for the gluten free noodles so I can bring my girlfriend here.
We went to the Goleta location for the first time yesterday for a late lunch. Nieves was the BEST. She helped my wife who is celiac with several questions she had. Nieves even went to the extent of explaining to her that she would have the cook put on gloves while preparing her order. The food was delicious and we'll definitely be back for their chicken and tri tip combos! Gracias a todos!
I hate to leave a 1 star review, but here we go.
Before I continue this review, I have to give them credit for backing their staff. After working in multiple industries where clients are involved with great feedback as well as complaints, they truly will back their staff and see what went wrong instead of taking my word and reprimanding them. My situation on how things were handled and the quality of a product I got was not up to par for what I know these guys can do. I’ve been into CrushCakes Goleta before and ordered food and cupcakes and EVERYTHING WAS AMAZING, but that doesn’t change the recent experience.
I recently got married and ordered a DAIRY FREE (not vegan. Not GF. And for clarification DF needs to be lactose free and can have eggs where vegan cake cannot) 2 tiered cake. We took the cake out 1 hr prior before cutting and serving per guidance of the staff. As soon as my husband and I went to go cut into the cake, it was hard as a brick and already starting to fall apart. The cake was inedible, and everyone probably took 1-2 bites before putting it down and not continuing to eat. We didn’t even cut into the bottom tier and it was thrown away. I couldn’t even save a piece to save for our 1 year anniversary. There is $500+ down the toilet.
We reached out to Goleta store prior to posting this review in hopes to resolve this situation, but not really. No apology. They kept reiterating that they were a small business and that this is never happened before. They were going to meet with baking staff earlier this week, I requested the outcome, and no response. I understand that they are a small business and for a fact that I personally have worked for small businesses before and that stuff happens. They have reviews with similar stories to mine where cakes or cupcakes were dry and/or inedible. We wanted to make them aware of the situation so this doesn’t happen again to anyone in the future. We did not receive exactly what I ordered and only received a $100 refund. I asked for ingredient list which was sent over and following in the email was “For Clarity this is what we follow when someone mentions they are Vegan / No Dairy.” So they make the same cake regardless if you’re vegan or DF. Technically since the cake was vegan, there was no dairy in it at all, BUT since I stated while ordering DF, we were expecting to have eggs in the ingredient list, which there wasn’t. Being DF and vegan are similar but totally different. Just because someone is dairy free, does not mean they are vegan and gluten free, and same goes for across the board. We weren’t told by time of placing the order that the cake would be made vegan and GF.
In my personal opinion, they should be able to adjust their recipes accordingly to what people as for. I’ve stated multiple times on how upsetting it was for the outcome of said cake.
Hot take: I should’ve been refunded MINIMUM 50% of what the cake cost, not $100. I did not receive the cake I asked for. I understand food costs and cost of labor, but come on. Do better to make this right. I want to keep supporting, but after all of this, I won’t be returning.
Photos taken are from an iPhone and from a distance, but figure they capture what I’m talking about.
I LOVE Masala Spice! We decided to cater our holiday party from Masala Spice because we love the food there so much. It's very authentic, and they have dishes I have only seen at their restaurant. I worked with Rishi, who was absolutely incredible. So helpful, easy to work with, and the dishes he helped me choose sounded divine. They delivered on time, and the portions were unbelievable!!! Every guest even took food home! The food was OUTSTANDING...people went back for thirds! Everything was so flavorful, and they had labels for each dish, specifying gluten-free, dairy-free and vegetarian, which was very nice. Everything was PERFECT, and we will be catering more with Masala Spice. They are SO nice and they truly do it right!
Decent selection ruined by fads and bowing to misinformation. I’ll give one example, but they do this sort of thing a lot: they’ve replaced nearly all their muffins with gluten free options. Less than 2% of the US population has any sort of sensitivity to gluten, but “gluten free” is trendy due to faux-health consciousness. (And if they actually cared about food sensitivities, *far* more or have sensitivities to dairy and egg. Why not make the muffins free of those ingredients?)
Trader Joe’s caters to this sort anti-science fear mongering, further propagating it. And to make matters worse, just like most gluten free products, the gluten free muffins are terrible! Everyone who I’ve offered one to has taken a few bites and thrown the rest away. They haven’t made their blueberry muffins gluten free yet, thankfully.
Your health may be jeopardized by the extra fat, and sugar and stabilizers they pack into their gluten free muffins to try to make them somewhat palatable, but at least you get to avoid gluten! Lol what a scam.
Great service and food, their sandwiches are consistently well made. Kaiden was especially helpful and quick this last visit! Also one of the few sandwich places that offers a gluten free bread.
While it’s great to have a 24-hour study spot in IV, my excitement is hindered by a few factors. The wifi takes at all times 10+ minutes of turning on and off to finally connect, which is consistently frustrating though understandable for a new place. While I’ve heard good things about their normal donuts, they combined all of their vegan ones with their gluten free, making those dense, stiff, and unpleasant. I’ve had both great vegan and great gluten free donuts in the past, but combining them creates an indredientless unholy monstrosity which I now feel blighted to have experienced firsthand. Their coffee is also pretty disappointing for a donut shop. Hopefully these issues will be resolved in the coming months…
Ok, I rarely eat carbs, but this place is worth it. All of our large group's dishes we're delicious. And, they had a wide range of options for vegetarians, gluten free, and low carb. The papardelle with mushrooms was so delicious, I'm still thinking about it, and the ravioli with browned butter... Oh my. Also a hit was the lava cake and teramisu.
When I need to prepare a dish that requires vegan or gluten-free ingredients, I always go to Sprouts. They also have a nice bulk area of common nuts, legumes, grains, and flours. It's a bit of a drive for me, but our Goleta location is positioned well, surrounded by a variety of other store types, which I also find beneficial.
Generous and delicious open faced sandwiches. The gluten free bread is very tasty. Friendly and efficient service. Large and comfortable patio dining. Conveniently located adjacent the general aviation terminals at the Santa Barbara Airport.
had a great experience, the gluten free slice was good and very fairly priced. service was very welcoming, was willing to make any kind of slice i wanted for the same price
Kyle's Kitchen burgers are amazing. I'm gluten free so I get em lettuce wrapped. Not always thrilled about a lettuce wrap but they are solid here. Their fries are great too. Great value over all.
We had dinner here and we're very surprised with the quality and taste of our dishes. We started with their salmon pancake which is exactly what it sounds like and it was awesome. It has smoked salmon, goat cheese, a pancake base, and caviar roe. For dinner I had chicken with capers, lemon sauce, fettuccini. Wife had a seafood medley style soup. We shared a gluten free chocolate cake which was dense and very sweet.
The prices were completely reasonable, especially for the quality. The ambiance was nice as well. We sat out on the covered patio with heaters. This is a good place for a family too. We will definitely be coming back.
This place is a favorite when we're picking someone up/dropping off from the airport. Great breakfast! I like the gluten free pancake options, they have gf waffles as well. Portions are on the larger side!
Best pizza I've had in years. The pan pizza crust is perfection. The railroad decor suits the town. I couldn't completely understand the cashier, and she was confused when I asked about gluten free options, but that was a minor thing. I highly recommend this place.
If you know it, this is it. If you haven't tried it, it's an American fast-food sub sandwich shop that now spans the globe. Gluten-free options, breakfast options, desserts, plus all their traditional favorites. Soft drinks. Cash & credit card payments accepted. Not a lot of seating.
First time here, but it's a favorite for my family that lives in town and I completely understand why.... it's phenomenal!!! I had the Chile Verde omelet with home fries and corn tortillas, as well as a gluten-free waffle with berries and cream. Every bite was full of flavor and love! Highly recommend
