Got the tofu banh mi, which was a first for me, only place I've found that does them gluten free. It was really, really good and everyone was super friendly. Food came out quickly, and the coffee was great.
A cozy spot with a chill vibe, offering a wide variety of vegan treats and cool events, plus nearby shops and a park for a perfect outing!

I absolutely LOVED the vegan gluten-free baked goods my partner got for us from The Chunky Scones - so delicious, excellent texture & mouth feel, and easy to digest! Recently, we went while Simbiótico Coffee was there, and the oat milk latte was incredible. After stepping inside for the first time, I was impressed by how good everything smelled and the wide variety of food & goodies on display. The storefront is small, but cozy and efficient.
The location is very convenient, on St. Johns Ave. just north of Roger Williams Ave., directly across from the "Ravinia Train Station North" parking lot. If it's not too busy, you can park in the metered lot for free (read the signs for restrictions). There's free street parking around the area, as well. It's a small location, but apparently they're really efficient so there's rarely a line. There are also a lot of cool shops and the nearby park is really nice (they occasionally have food trucks there in the summer), so it's worth a walkthrough. There are a few outdoor seats, and the park is very close, so I can walk my dog while my partner runs in for baked goodies.
Everyone at The Chunky Scones is so friendly! I love the mega-chill vibe they have, and I'm so happy to see they're fans of lucha libre freestyle wrestling (they've even co-sponsored a vegan market with lucha libre performances featuring GALLI stars like Lince Dorado, Bandolero, Aramís, El Torero, Sexy Star II, Shazza McKenzie, Victor "El Sueño" Iniestra, and more). I look forward to my partner - who loves this place - bringing home more goodies from The Chunky Scone. If I'm in the area, I might also pop in occasionally for a treat. They like our dog, which is also cool!
With a spotless, cozy vibe and a diverse menu, this spot is perfect for intimate dinners or casual lunches.

We had a really good conference business lunch at Ordo Restaurant. The restaurant serves halal food with gluten free as well as vegetarian dishes. that is both traditional and authentic. Our entrees were tasty and prepared with the amount of heat we requested. The dining area is spotless and tastefully decorated, providing for nice ambiance. The service was both attentive and friendly. Their vegetarian dish Oromo is the best!
We'll definitely return.
Recommended soups: mushroom soup
Recommended salads: eggplant salad and beet salad
Recommended appetizers: Brussels sprouts and samsy
Recommended main course: beef plov and manty
Meat and fish: branzino and white fish and all of their kebabs
Recommended desserts : napoleon and pistachio raspberry
Nice selection, especially for local and hard to find items for our family including preferred brands and products of vegan, gluten free, etc. Very friendly and helpful staff as well. Only reason not 5 stars is that prices on the non specialty items run relatively high.
A nostalgic spot with delicious pickles and a tempting bakery counter, perfect for a cozy bite and a great cup of coffee.

Great food, great service, and they have gluten free bagels! It can be a little pricey but the lox and bagel was worth it. It also has excellent coffee and a nice bakery counter. I’ll definitely come back here.
Delish and have gluten friendly options for lavash and pita bread. The shawarma was amazing and the combo is enough to feed several people. The beets and Moroccan carrots were divine!
Discover a gem with unique gourmet finds and perfect grab-and-go meals for your summer park adventures.

Have had amazing meals from Maddie’s Market. Can’t wait to grab food on the way to Ravinia Park this summer. Also love her selection of gourmet foods that you don’t see anywhere else. Love that she has many great gluten free options.
Gluten free Pad Thai was excellent. Very clean taste. Environment was warm and welcoming. My wife and I went home with leftovers for about $20. Happy lunch tomorrow!
Food is great, not too pricey. They have gluten free options (potatoes, pasta, salmon, chicken, steak) and were wonderful about being cautious for someone with nut allergies in our group.
Went there last night with my wife and close friends (yes during the first snow storm of the year). We sat outside and had a truly amazing dinner! The bread basket had great quality options that everyone, except my gluten intolerant wife, enjoyed. One friend had the split pea soup and enjoyed it. Our drinks were great (yes they accidentally made my vodka martini that I asked to use Tito's with gin instead, but I enjoyed it so much I kept it and asked for another) The Bucatini with Sausage was amazing! great staff, great outdoor space. Really excited to make this a new go to.
