Cute lunch place, gluten free options are available. The TV volume was quite loud making conversation difficult. Cocktails were good although the bartender could have spilled a little more liquor in the glass.

We were excited to go here as we have heard many good things. Being gluten free and dairy free it can be difficult to eat around the villages unless it is salad. The food was very good. But the communication on service was just ok.
Our server was very kind and We had told her we had never been there before. And then when I was asking questions about the menu because of the gluten-free part, she was great answering the questions. But when we ordered, it was like she completely forgot about the gluten free stuff which has fine, it happens, though it wasn't busy. It was 4 o'clock so there wasn't a lot of people there. So I ordered the chicken parmesan and ask for gluten-free. And then I asked about my sides, she gave me all the sides and I kinda gave her a look like which ones are those are gluten-free? Because I know they have a gluten, free pasta. And she said well, I would go with double veggies. And I'm like, but don't you have a gluten free pasta? And she said, oh yeah, and I'm like I'll just take that then. OK, that's fine then because I'm dairy free. I asked about the mozzarella on the chicken if I could substitute goat cheese and she said yes, perfect, and it came and it was phenomenal so good, but when I got the bill, it was a $4 Up charge for the goat cheese. It was not on the menu anywhere. It was not communicated no details about it. So that's where I lack because it would have been nice to have that communication so I was aware before I got my bill. Plus when the chicken came the grill marks were burnt marks so, the chicken had a really bad burnt taste to it and she first stopped by and asked about how everything was and I said, "honestly, I haven't had a chance. I thought I tasted burtness. But we've been talking". And she was well I'll come back and then she never came back. She never filled my water. She never did anything. She had tables right next to us and acted like we weren't even there until our food was gone and I had a brg her for more water. My husband had the pizza and he loved it. And I loved my meal other than the burnt chicken taste. Which I could flip the chicken over to hide that. Next time I'll say watch how you cook it. Because it was super thin there was no need to burn it the way they did. It just I can't give them higher stars because of this lack of communication. Plus we saw a manager displining someone in front of everyone that is not great.

All in all, not bad. The only gripe I have is the value or cost versus the food size/flavor.
For the same amount of money, I know there are places that are the same or less expensive and offer quality that is better.
I love iced tea and so I had several refills at the $4.00 price. The service was pretty good, but busy as it was lunch time. So, given that, I thought the staff did a good job.
I’m not sure if all stores are priced the same as I was in a tourist area, where I would expect it to be priced higher.
Also, being a vegetarian, I am very
limited as to choices. My wife eats meat and she found her needed gluten free options. I only wish they had a bit more choices for me. I asked about removing the chicken from the $13 salad and was told that it would still cost the same whether with or without chicken.
So, for the vast majority, you will like it. If you are picky about food or price sensitive, then you may find it not to your liking. One last thing is, I do know that their cookies are good. If you have a sweet tooth, grab one of those.

We actually love this place and go a lot. I have Celiac disease and they have enough corn based offerings that makes it a good place to go. Last night we went and I was assured that I could get soft corn tacos by the the server. However, some sort of miscommunication happened because today, I assure you that they were not corn. Explosive diarrhea says other wise. They need to be sure when this type of special request is made. It has dire consequences to Celiacs and I've been rather miserable all day. I strictly adhere to a gluten free diet and know for sure when I get a gluten product.
Having said this, we will go back because the food is good. Just have to stay away from dishes that I have to ask for a gluten free substitute.

We like Asian food and searched for a local restaurant that wouldn't break the bank. The closest Thai restaurant, Thai Ruby, was located in Lake Sumter Landing in The Villages, an easy drive for us. Their extensive menu has a variety of menu options certain to please any diner looking for generous portions at a reasonable price. We got five satisfying dinners from these two dishes for under $40.00.
We looked at the posted outdoor menu and decided on the Pad Thai Chicken and Sweet & Sour Chicken dinners for takeout. Kayla welcomed us, took our orders as we sat down to wait. A few people were seated at 3:00 that afternoon so our wait was not long at all.
The restaurant has several booths on one side and tables on the other. Natural light fills the table side; the booth side is darker with no natural light but lit with wall lamps. Thai wall hangings complete the decor.
Our dinners were packaged in a large sturdy paper bag with handles and a piece of cardboard in the bottom to stabilize the containers. We drove 30 minutes home to find the food still hot. The portions were huge and we were impressed with the generous amount of chicken in both dishes. No scrimping on meat here. Since we are not fans of spicy food, we were happy with the mild flavors. However, the menu indicates three available spice levels: Medium, Hot and Thai Hot.
The menu also indicates gluten free dishes and the number of individual pieces included in each dish where appropriate: "Thai Spring Rolls (4)." All entrees are served with jasmine rice. Some dishes such as Roast Duckling and Snapper Ginger are "Market Price." The menu requests: "No substitutions, please. No MSG is used in our dishes and only mild spices."
Six desserts are offered including three Thai offerings: ice cream, lychee (exotic fruits on top of homemade coconut ice cream), and fried donuts. Soft drinks, teas, Thai iced tea and iced coffee complete the menu.
If you are looking for a positive dining experience with generous portions at a reasonable price in "Florida's Friendliest Hometown," Thai Ruby Restaurant is for you. If you go: 1064 Canal St, The Villages, FL 32162.
Sunday-Thursday: 11:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. Friday - Saturday: 11:00 a.m. - 9:30 p.m. They can also be found on Facebook.

What a great experience and amazing food to match! Never have we ever had a steak, so tender! But we think the best thing about it was the service and the Care that our waiter Sureen gave to us. When we first arrived, he introduced us to the restaurant, the highlights on the menu, his favorites, ladies and gentlemen‘s favorites. He paid close attention to what we might like, and gave wonderful suggestions. He was also very polite, attentive, and made the experience wonderful for our wedding anniversary. The gluten-free options were plentiful , and they catered to it. Highly recommend this restaurant, and our waiter, Sureen who was wonderful! It was such a great experience that my husband and I joined the VIP club! Of course, for those of you that follow, photos of food have started to be eaten! Lol
