The best vegan gluten free burger I have ever had in my entire life. Recommended by a local and it was an excellent experience from the service, to the ambiance to the food. Highly recommend!

Very good food and service. Enjoyed going right before a show at the State Theater which about a 5 minute walk. There's many choices to meet everyone's tastes and even accommodated our gluten free friend. Would definitely go back.

I'm surprised I liked it. Went here once for a book club meeting; we sat upstairs and I did not order anything. The others ordered what looked like tasty, greasy, cheesy, fatty bar food. (I think it was the patatas I saw and was on the fence about trying. It looked like it was too much, but they liked it).
Came back another time and tried a hot dog - it was pretty good, I like the gluten free bun option and that you can make your own. Very casual, odd location, but there is some parking.
I'm not a hot dog aficionado, I've probably only ever eaten one out at a food venue in NJ two other times: 1, at point pleasant beach, at that yellow stand in the middle of the boardwalk, where they have the best boardwalk fries - and the hot dog there is a footlong and we tried it once and split it 3 ways, but I had to eat it without the bun. And it was good. 2, the cider mill near hacklebarney state park, where the hot dogs and sauerkraut are cooked in the cider or something like that. Also ate it without the bun, and I do like it and try to get there once a year or once every two years.
Sometimes, it's those mediocre, just okay experiences that you may come back for, and it'll hit the spot.
I feel like I should add the health warning: hot dogs are not brain food and may take years off of your life ("Eating a hot dog takes away 36 minutes of healthy life"). Everything in moderation.

Everyone loved it for my birthday one year. We tried the honey wine, I got lentils, they had gluten free injera, and the others got mixed fish and meat and vegetarian. Simple atmosphere, but good food.

Great service and food! They were very accommodating of my gluten allergy and substituted pita with veggies for no extra charge. The hummus is outstanding! The olive oil they use enhances every dish! I've tried the snapper and the salmon and have not been disappointed. The table service is fast and all the workers are very friendly.
On a Saturday night it can get very busy so I would try to call for reservations and don't expect it to be quiet in the dining room. Very delicious and lively restaurant. My only recommendation to the staff would be to keep on top of the bathroom's cleanliness.

My first time here and let me tell you it's not a place you should pass up. The Persian cherry rice with grilled chicken was delicious. The Akbar mashti persian ice cream- Saffron ice cream infused with rosewater and pistachios was a perfect hot summer day dessert. They have vegan, gluten free so many food and latte options , today I had an iced matcha tea with coconut milk and strawberry foam it was yummy, and they are animal dog friendly here which I love too! Owners are welcoming and friendly. I will definitely be back! Right down the road from Rutgers University.

I went to Hansel 'n Griddle at 2:45 PM on December 3, 2024. In the lunch rush. The $15 lunch included a drink. The 130 Easton Ave, New Brunswick, site is near Rutgers University. Due to restricted street parking, a neighboring paid parking garage is available. The cashier smiled and explained several menu selections. Despite the congestion, the service brought out the food quickly. Modern décor and a cozy seating area create a relaxed atmosphere. Even during busiest hours, the restaurant was clean and tables were washed down. My order took 10 minutes, which was impressive. The atmosphere was lively but not overwhelming. Chicken Quesadilla was my favorite—flavorful and well-cooked. Freshly squeezed orange juice was very refreshing. Service was fast and the personnel handled the throng well. College students love Hansel 'n Griddle because they take Rutgers meal cards. They also serve gluten-free wraps and vegetarian meals. Trivia nights and seasonal specials make it fun to hang out. Hansel 'n Griddle is a great New Brunswick informal restaurant. The food is delicious, the service is fast, and the ambiance is friendly. Perfect for a fast lunch or a casual meal with friends. I recommend the Chicken Quesadilla and fresh-squeezed orange juice to visitors. Parking is the major drawback, but food and service are great.

Been on and off this place for the past 10 years. When I first started eating here I would always get the chorizo box, recently I have gotten the chorizo a few times and it is deff not the same, not as good as it used to be. I usually get the Al pastor nowadays. My wife gets the grilled chicken, she has celiac and is fairly sensitive. She gets chicken rice and cheese, nothing else and she usually doesn't get irritated. They inform the kitchen and seem to be very safe about it, use extra paper so even the tray doesn't touch anything. Good place to eat, come eat here!

I went to Cuzin’s for a birthday dinner, we sat in the basement which had a nice ambience. I have celiac disease, talked to the waitress about it (I believe her name was Caitlin..she was fantastic! she knew everything about the menu and exactly what I could and could not eat). Although they don’t have a dedicated gluten-free fryer, they did have gluten free penne pasta. There were some dessert options as well (which all sounded really good!).
I ended up eating the brussel sprouts, bacon appetizer, and ahi tuna tower. My drink was fantastic as well. I didn’t get sick, so I’m really pleased with the experience and thankful for their ability to accommodate being gluten free.

Used to come here back in my college days. Was in the area and picked up a gluten free pizza. A tad bit small, but my fianceé who is celiac enjoyed it and did not get sick. They use a separate pan.

I've been a PJ's customer for over 20 years. I love their white pizza with tomatoes and broccoli, olive oil and garlic. You should try it, if you haven't by now. I've been avoiding pizza for the past few years because of gluten sensitivity, and recently, when my family ordered pizza for dinner, I opted for a chicken salad. Thinking that it will be bland, but whatever. To my greatest surprise, PJ's did a wonderful job with using a variety of greens, not just romaine or just iceberg lettuce, and the chicken was so flavorful and well cooked. Thank you PJ's! You have a lifelong customer here. Keep up the great work!
