Only had takeout from here so far, but it was noteworthy. The gluten free pizza is some of the best we've had. The glutenous is of course amazing as well. The burger and chicken sandwich are expensive but also exemplary. (They are huge!) In our opinion you can share a small pizza with two people and a sandwich with two people.

The tacos were delicious and the service was good. The menu had clear gluten free options and a lot of them too. The tacos are more expensive than average, around $5 each, but worth it because of how tasty they are. I would recommend this place.

I've been going here for several years now, and the food never disappoints. This locally-owned restaurant serves healthy, delicious and carefully prepared food -- from delicious gluten-free crêpes to fresh fish. For those looking to binge eat and complain about the portion size, this is not the place to go. For those interested in a healthy, fresh, and delicious French meal however, this place is highly-recommended. It is without doubt one of the best restaurants in Old Town Alexandria.

So delicious! I got the gluten free woks delight. The chicken was so moist!!! And the chef went out of her way to cook the edamame with my gluten free food so I could eat that it as well which was beyond nice :)

I really can’t enough good things about this restaurant! The staff was unbelievable, and addressed my options with me as soon as I mentioned I had celiac disease. Our server Gara was great!!! Once our order was in, the manager Diego came over to introduce himself, and he reassured me the kitchen was taking care with my order! The scallops and risotto were incredible, and melted in your mouth! I’m so happy having a place I can count on for dining out!!!!

The baked cod was very good -- light, flaky, moist, and delicious. The sides of roasted potatoes and green beans were quite good as well. As a gluten-free option, the shrimp and grits were very, very good.

The food here is absolutely amazing! I'm both gluten and dairy free and they are very cognizant of allergens and dietary restrictions. We went on Valentine's Day and the manager made sure that every woman received a rose. I had the Mahi Mahi Tacos and blueberry lemonade! The service was great, wonderful atmosphere and it was a perfect evening! We'll be back!!!

So many people recommend this place because of its extensive gluten-free menu. But upon arrival, I was told by our server that nothing fried would be gluten-free, ok, I understand that. But the majority of the vegetables were also not gluten-free for one reason or another, which was baffling! Not a single appetizer was gluten free, the waitress suggested the steak or a fish. Unfortunately, I'm vegan as well. So we had to leave. I'm not sure who went to this place and found it to be gluten-free, friendly, but it is absolutely NOT a place to go if you have celiac disease! Exceptionally disappointing as we drive and hunted for parking for quite a while all to turn around and leave.

Not many gluten free options! Just one entree and a few of the plain seafood appetizers. If you’re gluten free, there’s better options in the area. Pretty standard American seafood. Our waitress was lovely though.

So excited that Bollywood Masala is in Alexandria! The food here is amazing - every curry we have tried is delicious. And they have gluten free bread (like a savory chickpea pancake)! This restaurant is very allergen friendly. They also cater to all spice levels. We asked for extra hot spice levels, and they delivered. The table next to us asked for the mildest of mild food, and they also delivered! Their drinks are creative. The mango lassi was lovely. The staff are great. This place is a 10/10 if you love flavor. The entry level looks small, but there is a large dining area upstairs

My husband and I got engaged in August and we knew we wanted to have a small wedding in the fall (two months later!). This all hinged on finding a restaurant that had a good atmosphere, was light and airy, and could handle my dietary restrictions. Hummingbird was our answer - we had a Sunday brunch reception here for 60 people after our midday wedding ceremony. Kenneth was so pleasant to work - he was detail oriented, responsive to emails and meeting requests, and he was able to proactively accommodate many food restrictions. I am gluten, dairy, and egg free and there were many foods (at a brunch!) that I could eat. Kenneth also went back and forth with me on the paper menu I created with GF/DF/etc symbols so I could make sure all my friends/family with dietary restrictions were covered. They also prepared a special plate and got a dessert for our vegan friend. We had many friends compliment us on the food (I hear the avocado toast was particularly amazing), most of whom I consider to be foodies so I took that as quite high praise. It made us very happy that our friends were full and content - that hasn't always happened to us at weddings so that was really important to us when we were planning. We ended up doing a full restaurant buy out and a partial patio buy out. There was a baby shower on the other portion of the patio which they had put up a tent for since it was early November. Our photographer and some guests got confused by the second event - it blocked the main entry vestibule so people missed all the signage for our event and also no one wanted to hang out at the outside tables even though the weather was beautiful. My recommendation would be to try to also do a full patio buy out so you aren't sharing any outdoor space and it's just your event. All in all, though, I highly recommend!

Falafel bowl is fresh, well seasoned, and hearty for a great price. The cafe itself is pretty small but the workers and atmosphere is clean and kind. There’s likely something that naturally gluten free here, too, though it felt too busy to ask while I was there. I’d definitely go back.

Momo is the best sushi place within 30 miles, hands down, next to Sushi Taro. The quality of the sushi is incredible, the staff are friendly and knowledgeable about gluten in their food, and it's located in a fantastic part of Alexandria; also happens to be next door to Bilbo Baggins if there is a wait. I recommend the Salmon special and the seaweed salad. The downstairs seating is my preference due to being less cramping but the upstairs is also nice. I will definitely be visiting again. tl;dr - great location, great sushi, have the salmon special, very good about gluten and allergies, will definitely visit again

What a gem! The food is delicious and service is stupendous! If you are fortunate enough to have Adina taking care of you, you will not be disappointed. If gluten is an issue, they offer multiple GF dishes. The courtyard, outback, is very inviting. The owner is attentive to clientele and the details going on with her patrons.

I visited the Café on a Saturday morning and despite it being quite busy, the food, drinks, and service were still wonderful. The server taking our order was very knowledgeable about food allergies and was able to recommend options for my gluten free diet (FYI - the gluten free crepes are NOT celiac-safe). There is not a lot of parking, but it is worth the walk through Old Town to get here because the ambiance is cozy and warm - perfect for a fall morning.

A mixed experience. The lump crab salad and scallop risotto were both really good. A great wine list. The scallop and prawns in the seafood sampler were good. The lobster claw was tough and overcooked. The oysters were large and flavourless. The service was ok not great, my wife is coeliac, and the server didn't engage with this when she told him and just said gluten free items are marked on the menu. Great servers will provide additional information like is the cocktail sauce for the oyster gluten free and ensure the kitchen knows that someone is coeliac.

Nice location and relatively easy parking on side street. Not too crowded early on a Saturday night. Flavorful and authentic food. The table enjoyed the Brussel sprouts, halloumi goulash, and hummus. All delicious. Pita fabulous. For the main dish, shared the scallops, shrimp, mixed grill and added vermicelli rice and white rice. Dessert was baklava AND phyllo wrapped brownie. Staff were able to accommodate gluten free (except dessert) and vegetarian. All of the food was wonderful. One star off because while the staff were professional and kind, they seemed a bit busy. Regardless, we will return.

I had a private event here for my best friends, mom, sister, and niece the day before my wedding. I reserved the back room and got the unlimited spread. My friends and family loved it and my mom friends wished they had one in their cities to take their younger daughters. The staff were wonderful and attentive, especially to my 5 yo niece. They made her PB&J, Nutella, and strawberry & cream cheese sandwiches (although she also loved the smoked salmon ones!). They also made a special tier for me since I can't eat gluten and dairy and try to avoid eggs too - it's no easy feat to make food for me. For a private event, my recommendation is to go all out, get the back room, and do the unlimited spread - we were all stuffed!
