I cant really fault this place. I have been to a lot worse 4 star hotel than this. Located with beautiful view, near supermarket. Close to shops. The place is warm, not busy and clean. Room is very good size for two, separate toilet even, plenty of storage place. Decoration is simple, but that is not always bad.beds are comfy. Swimming area/jacuzzi/steam/sauna is enough with some seating area. No changing room though, which makes it a bit awkward. Food is lovely, home cooked. I am gluten and dairy free but allergens weren't displayed. That said the meat I ate was nice, fruit salad was canned fruit mixed with fresh. Liked the layout of hotel, felt family style, clean space. I loved staying here, things were just right. My only gripe is the distance to gondola and slopes. If you come here with kids, it's not a nice walk to carry all equipments. Be warned. Nearest gondola is about 15 min walk with trainers on, carrying the rest, across road, down stairs, navigate town. I personally wouldn't do it with boots on. I was with my 10yr old, so was slower I suppose, but I really didn't like the track to and from ski slopes. Good geeen/ blue ski slopes are a gondola ride away, and it's a long journey to get to ski.
The food was very good, many of the dishes are with cheese which I think is fantastic. Everything except pasta, the gratin and pizza should be gluten free, so for people with a gluten intolerance or diet this place should be a good place to eat. The staff was friendly and is able to talk English. It's a little bit on the pricy side, but it was worth it.
A standout spot known for its exceptional service and thoughtful customization, ensuring an unforgettable and relaxing dining experience.

If I could give ten stars I would.
I made a note on the booking that I couldn’t eat gluten or dairy. These notes are usually ignored, but L’Ecuelle had not only made a note of it, but worked out what could be modified or made before I even arrived. Restaurants often hate accommodating people like me and I always apologise and feel awkward, but the team at L’Ecuelle were so incredibly kind and considerate.
Aaaaaand…. The food was EXCELLENT. We went for tapas style and honestly could’ve ordered more.
The wine we ordered was not to our taste and we weren’t enjoying it, so they offered to change it, despite it not being offered by the glass. We were allowed to take our time with our meal, never felt rushed and felt very looked after.
I will definitely go back when I return to La Clusaz!
Generous portions and creative presentations, like fruit in a boat-shaped bowl, make for a delightful and accommodating dining experience.

Each of our requests were met. The round table seats 5 people. But there were 4 of us. No worries. For those intolerant to gluten there is gluten-free bread. Fruit salad not on the menu or map. No problem, you have a fresh one in a pretty boat-shaped bowl. Not to mention a fondue for one person when it is specified to order from 2 people. And the dishes are very generous and very good.
Thank you to the staff for their welcome.
Thanks to the cook too

Experience a charming spot with vibrant flavors, accommodating staff, and a tempting dessert menu that pairs beautifully with a great wine selection.

This is a really lovely place. A wonderful atmosphere and the people who work there (who I think were the owners) are incredibly wonderful. I cannot eat dairy, gluten or red meat (every French persons nightmare, I know), and they were so accommodating and adapted the vegetarian dish for me and it was very delicious, with really complex and vibrant flavours.
The dessert menu looks amazing and my partner said his dessert was excellent (a Chou with an almond creme, I think), and he enjoyed his guinea fowl too.
The wine selection is good, with some lovely by the glass choices.
Would definitely recommend and thank you to everyone for accommodating my dietary restrictions so kindly.
