The food is really sensational at Mowgli. They also cater for a variety of dietary requirements, including gluten free. It was quite quiet at lunchtime on a Wednesday but that meant the service was very attentive and the food came out very quickly.

The options for people with allergies (dairy and gluten) are limited, but the staff took them seriously. The vibe is nice, but better to go when it's less full.

Clean and tidy restaurant, very friendly staff. The food was tasty with good sized portions but the menu is a bit limited. This is a specialist vegetarian/vegan restaurant which also caters for gluten intolerance as well, however the staff explained that the GF food is cooked in same fryer as the non GF food. This is OK if you are GF for fashionable reasons but not for anyone who is GF for medical reasons. Children are welcome but there isn't a children's menu. Most of the youngsters there were eating French fries and ketchup I noticed. I was disappointed that there wasn't more variety of vegetables available. I guess most people want artificial chicken there days. The biggest surprise was the price, it was eye wateringly expensive, over £200 with the service charge for 4 adults and 1 young child, we had mains a couple of sides, not many drinks and a couple of deserts.
Step into a beautifully decorated spot with great vibes and attentive staff, making every visit feel special and memorable.

Amazing meal at Mowgli. It was my first visit and I loved it.
We were a group of five - three adults and two children. The adults ordered the street food sharer for the three of us, and the kids each had a chicken butter curry and rice.
Now, the food was excellent, but the restaurant was understaffed and service was really bad. I appreciate that it was mother's day and very busy. Once seated, we waited about 15 minutes to be given menus, and we were asked what drinks we wanted which we ordered. Another 15 minutes went by, no drinks had arrived, but the waitress appeared to take our food order. She also repeated our drinks orders which was strange. I think this is where things went a little stray. We ordered the street food sharer for three and two more curries and two more rice for my nephews. When all the food arrived, there were four rice rather than five, two rotis rather than three. There was still plenty of food and we weren't sure if one of the kids meals hadn't been put through or one of the sharers.
Once we finished eating it was another 15 minutes for the table to be cleared and for ice creams to arrive (you get a scoop of salted caramel with the sharer meal).
Definitely book a table in advance. There is plenty of choice for vegans and gluten free. I like the individual portions and sharing options. I didn't take many photos as I was too keen to enjoy!!
Experience a vibrant mix of flavors and dishes in a welcoming atmosphere, perfect for groups and special occasions!

I have recently visited Mowgli on Water Street in Liverpool and what a lovely experience it was. We were warmly welcomed into the restaurant by the manager, Chris, who guided us to our novelty swing seats. The atmosphere is vibrant and full of character with fairy lights, and rustic wooden interiors that make you feel like you've stepped into a little Indian street market.
The menu is more like an Indian Tapas designed for sharing which are all absolutely delicious. I noticed too that the restaurant offers options for vegan and gluten-free diners so it really does cater for everyone.
Service is friendly, attentive, and the staff really cared that we had a good experience. Definitely will be returning in the near future.

nicely decorated and set up, good service from the staff. But the food was far from good. We had a set meal for 3 of us. it came with the smallest chapati I've ever seen (the size of a good biscuit) and there were 2 of them for 3 people. small portions. the starter was inedible and i eat anything and everything. Mains were watery in consistency.
The only large portion was a potatoes dish. I don't go to an Indian restaurant for potatoes.
Everything is gluten free, great if you can't tolerate it so maybe that's why the dishes didn't do it for me in the taste department.
Soda water very expensive, same as a coke.
Surprised there are so many top reviews. so guess its just me!

Although they say they can’t guarantee 100% free of cross contamination, most Indian curries are naturally gluten free, so as long as you stick to those, you shouldn’t have any problems. They have gluten free options on their menu and if you tell them you’re coeliac, they will let the chef know and make sure to take extra care with prep.

Daughter had a great meal and didn’t feel ‘different’ she loved it. Hubby and I had the tiffin boxes and was just divine. Had different curries in the boxes so we could share. Amaxing meal

Fabulous food, friendly staff, and a lovely cosy atmosphere. Didn't realise it was Indian style tapas, which makes it a little pricey, but it was super tasty food. Mocktail was beautiful (and the only thing I managed to take a photo of, the food was so good). They have a gluten friendly menu, but they can't make any guarantee about cross contamination. It's a personal risk I choose to take, but overall, it is not suitable for coeliacs. They offer ice cream as a dessert. It was nice to have the option of a gluten-free waffle cone.
With tailored spice levels and incredible value for lunch, this place serves up deliciously unique dishes that'll keep you coming back.

Absolute gem of a place.
Incredible value for their lunch menu - £15 for pilau rice, lamb/chicken curry and either samosa chaat or kale pakora chaat. At that price its easily the best value for money Indian I have ever had and third best curry i have ever had in the uk (including Gibraltar which has my number 1)
All of it was cooked to perfection and the kale pakora chaat in particular was on another level.
My partner is gluten free and the only issue she had with the gluten free options was the excessive choice! Barely anything contained gluten which was pleasing to see (my mum is also a coeliac and i’ll be bringing her!)
Staff were attentive and friendly and even when we payed and were just finishing our drinks, they gave us a complementary cup of tea 👍

Such a lovely atmosphere with dim lighting and sparkly lights. I had the lamb curry with rice and it was really good! My friend is gluten free and had some sticky chicken which wasn’t great to be honest. Had brownies for dessert which were gluten free with ice cream and they were lovely! There’s a meal offer they do for 2 people for about £25 each which looks really good and includes a variety of things as well as dessert.
Expect a warm welcome and quick service in a place where standout presentations make the experience extra special.

I went on a fabulous fourth date here. The location was very convenient for both myself and my date as we were meeting after work. He was annoyed that he could not book a table in advance and I know Dishoom don’t allow for this, you have to queue. Kings Cross has completely changed, I really liked where Dishoom was. They told us we would have to queue for up to 40 minutes but truthfully it was more 20 minutes before we were inside. The lovely staff gave us tasty mini lemonades whilst waiting in the queue which was a lovely touch. I loved the decor in here. We were initially taken downstairs into the bar area and I was about to order my
Mocktail when our table was ready.
They had a decent selection of gluten free options for my date which was good and the waitress was very knowledgeable about this as well.
I had a delicious Rose and cardamom lassi and an Espresso martini mocktail.
As an Asian woman and a proficient home cook, I know what Indian food is and how the standard should be. I really liked my starter but my date’s starter of bhel was pretty dry, they did not give much sauce whereas I know there should have been more.
The seekh kebabs were amazing as was my chicken biriyani. It was too much food for me and the portions were huge. I took the biriyani home and gave it to my daughter who is at uni who equally loved it.
I love the decor and atmosphere, we had a really fun date here. I would love to come again for breakfast/brunch. ☺️💕

I’ve visited Mowgli a few times in Bristol and Oxford and the food is always amazing, however, I’ve found that the service can really let it down.
Food wise, a great selection of Incredibly delicious small plates and larger plates are available, with some brilliant vegetarian and gluten free options. The sharing deals are great value and honestly include some of the best curries I’ve ever tasted.
However, on more then one occasion I’ve found the member of staff who has greeted us to seem really miserable and unhappy to be there, which doesn’t set you off to a great start.
During my most recent visit, we had to wait a while for our booked table to be free, and then once we were sat down it took a good half an hour before we were able to order as the staff were soo rushed. Once we had ordered, our drinks took about 40mins to arrive. We chose the set menus where you get starters, some curries to share and then a desert. The food was great but when we got to the desert there was only one available, and then they obviously needed our table back as we were actually given our bill before our deserts had even arrived. This made us feel really rushed and uncomfortable, which is a real shame as I had brought visiting family over from Bath just to go to the restaurant.
To add salt to the wound a £15 service charge had been added to the bill! We apologised to the waitress and said we wouldn’t pay the service for the aforementioned reasons and she told us it was because they had more bookings then they could cope with and they were ridiculously busy.
So, to summarise, great food and a really beautiful setting but too busy resulting in stressed out staff and a rushed experience!
Enjoy a vibrant atmosphere with a fantastic variety of delicious options that keep everyone coming back for more.

Tried the Koconut Grove for the first time today and we'll definitely be back. Our son is Coeliac so cannot eat anything with gluten. We were so impressed by their knowledge of cross contamination. They took their time to explain what was gluten free, what to avoid and really went out of their way to make sure our son knew what was safe to eat. A place with cool atmosphere and average food. Sadly, a very strange and rude attitude serving people with intolerances or allergies. I have a dairy and gluten intolerance. The servers told me to check a confusing online allergen menu myself with no guidance rather than answer any question about the menu. Then, we ordered the nachos with yogurt on the side, not an abnormal request. A manager literally came to us to tell us having the yogurt on the side would inherently alter the dish and they couldn't do it. I worked in hospitality for 6+ years and this is absolutely crazy. We were blown away by the arrogance of this, which seems to be decision from the chef, not the FOH. It's not haute cuisine, it's fusion nachos at a chain restaurant. Just put the yogurt on the side. Overall, food is acceptable, nothing remarkable, and the atmosphere is cool - but you would get better allergen service even at the worst of chain pubs. Would not come back.
Fresh and delicious dishes that always hit the spot, this spot offers fantastic value and keeps fans coming back for more!
