5-Star Experience at Everest Nepalese & Indian Cuisine
My wife and I had dinner here last night with a friend, and everything from start to finish was outstanding. We were warmly greeted upon arrival and offered our choice of seating—we chose a spot near the large glass windows, which offered plenty of natural light and a welcoming atmosphere.
The menu is impressive—packed with delicious-sounding options. We started with the chicken and vegetable *Sadheko Momo*—if you've never had momo, it's similar to a dumpling. These were bursting with flavor, perfectly cooked, and somehow both fresh and satisfying. A fantastic start to the meal.
For dinner, we shared the *Newari Khaja Set* (which is gluten-free), and it was truly a feast: beaten rice with a wasabi-like kick, chicken choila, piroo aloo, vegetable curry, sautéed black-eyed peas, soybean sadeko, fried egg, lentil pancake (bara), tomato achaar, papadum, and dessert. Every bite offered a new flavor to appreciate. The egg added a crispy touch, and the curry was deeply flavorful. The dessert—imagine a sweet hush puppy in a pool of maple syrup—was the perfect ending.
Service was excellent: our server was kind, attentive without hovering, and gave us time to enjoy everything at a relaxed pace.
If you're a fan of Indian or Nepalese cuisine—or just love trying something new—Everest is a must. We’ll definitely be back!
A favorite spot for many, known for its peaceful atmosphere, attentive service, and consistent quality, with plenty of options for everyone.

This is my favorite restaurant in Louisville across all categories.
Atmosphere: Many restaurants play jacked up music and I can't wait to leave. As soon as I walk into Shalimar I relax. The Indian sitar accompanied music is so pleasant. Even though this is a popular restaurant I've never had to wait for seating, as seating is abundant. The restaurant is clean. The environment is just so peaceful.
Service - My family and I have eaten here about 40 times. The service has always been attentive without being over-solicitous.
Food - Consistently good every time. We have vegetarians and non-vegetarians in the family. Both are well served. Some of us are gluten free and no dairy and find abundant choices.

This not so hidden gem is situated at the corner of Avenue of Champions and Limestone, right in the heart of UK. My son took his girlfriend to Mahek the week before and had nothing but good things to say. Tonight he and I dined in and were not disappointed. The dining room is spacious and inviting, the owner greeted us right away, and our waiter was top notch. What I especially appreciate is the amount of dietary options available and clearly marked on the menu (vegan, vegetarian, gluten free etc). We ordered two apps: Vegetable birds nest and Paneer pakora. For our main entrees, we ordered Matar Paneer, and Chicken Korma and garlic naan, all delicious with plenty of leftovers to take home. They also offer a lunch special 7 days a week for $11! Please give this restaurant a try if you like great service, great prices and great food!

My mom and I have eaten here for so many years! They treat us like family and we love them! Our server, Babu, greets us happily and take such good care of us. Plus I have celiac disease and can safely eat gluten free there! Highly recommend!
Have always had a positive and wonderful experience. Have tested multiple foods for gluten with Nima tester and all but onion chutney have came back gluten free. The staff are able to help with selection and it appears most are gluten free. Happy gluten free eating. Love the food, it’s so yummy.
Large portions, vibrant flavors, and a clean atmosphere make this spot a dinner delight, perfect for a satisfying night out.

Hyderabadhouse in Middletown, Ky was a real treat. The restaurant was clean, the portions were large and the staff was very friendly. What more could you want on a night out for dinner?
We started out with the Goat Sukka (BONE IN). The goat cubes were large and pan-fired with onions, curry leaves (of course), and spices. This was the first time my wife and I tried goat. It was delicious!
My wife ordered and enjoyed the Gutti Vankay Biryani eggplant. It arrived with a heaping amount of Basmati rice seasoned with cilantro, onion slices, spices, and most likely saffron. I ordered the Chicken Tikka Kebabs which were boneless pieces of chicken marinated in yogurt. The chicken was cooked with fresh spices on skewers in a clay oven. There were also slices of green peppers, onions, and turnips on a streaming cast iron sizzle platter. The skewers were removed before the chicken arrived at our table. Like everything else, the portions of chicken were large and very tasty.
Our bread selection was the Garlic Naans which was a flat white bread. The bread was sprinkled with garlic and cilantro and baked in a clay oven. All of our items arrived with various sauces.
The restaurant offered both vegan and gluten-free items. There was a modest selection of alcoholic beverages available. The parking was ample and carry out is available. You will need take-home boxes for sure. I don't give five stars often, but the Hyderabadhouse in Middletown, Ky earns one here. Enjoy!

Always an Amazing experience. The food is always consistent and very tasty. Lots of vegan and gluten free options as well. You can choose your spice level from mild to Indian HOT! I have dined many Indian restaurants, and no place compares to this authentic Indian food! Yum!!
The buffet is always delicious and there's alot of options. Even though I have to eat gluten free I still have several options that are quite satisfying.

Delicious. Our server told me none of their curries have wheat flour, so gluten free folks should have a ton of options here. They have a 1 to 10 spice scale, but their base spice level is higher than I have experienced at other Indian restaurants like Ambar or Deep. A 5 had a person who has a 7 at Ambar in tears... pretty sure they were happy tears though. The dining area is small and the tables get cluttered quickly. I wouldn't come here with a party of more than 4. Sound level was good, but we were the only diners. Service was super attentive and took great care of us. They have M and W bathrooms.
My favorite Indian restaurant!! Im vegetarian / gluten free. They have alot of options for me. Beautiful place to eat, friendly staff and the best lunch buffet ever!
