I’ve had much better tasting and textured gluten free and vegan selections elsewhere. I would not choose this place as my top option if I needed either of those as a serious accommodation. Pricing for the quality and the service was basically awful. My table got three drinks (two small hot teas and a small latte) and three cake slices and paid $45. The latte was up-charged $2 because I am lactose intolerant and ordered oat milk for it. I understand an up charge because the milk is typically more expensive than regular, but basically every other cafe for miles well out-competes a $2 extra charge. The most expensive I’ve seen locally before this was $1. In a perfect world allergy and intolerance accommodations would cost no extra, as people like me can’t really help wanting to live like others and have a little cafe latte that won’t hurt us. When asked if I wanted a box I said I would, as I still had a half slice of cake left. No box was ever brought to my table and the waiter never mentioned it again even as we said goodbye to him and left. In fact, almost every interaction with the waiter was tinted with what seemed like haughtiness or disdain on his end. Maybe because we only came and sat for desserts and coffee/tea and therefore were not “high value” customers. Overall this place seems full of itself and really not worth the trouble and expense to have sub-par cakes and a cup of tea. Hoping this is a rare experience.
Expect generous portions of flavorful dishes in a worn-out space lacking ambiance; perfect for takeout but not dining in.

Food was great and servics was good. They forgot one of our tables dishes. But came back and checked on us enough that it was caught. I am gluten free ( celiac ) and they had plenty of options.

Indian Masala is a hidden gem and definitely has a dive aesthetic which I think is charming. Probably my favorite Indian Restaurant in the Twin Cities area right now since the food is so flavorful. I love the buffet which accommodates people that are vegetarian/vegan and/or need to be gluten free. The Butter Chicken and Chicken Biryani are my favorites.
Expect a flavor explosion with adventurous pizza options that blend Indian tastes, fresh ingredients, and unique combinations—definitely a must-try!

I am a typical pepperoni pizza kind of person. Didn't really know what to expect. The flavors of the Indian inspired pizza were so beyond delicious. The staff working were so helpful in helping me decide on my pizza choice! My mind has been blown with the flavors, crust (gluten free), and the cheese blend that were chosen for there restaurant. I am eager to come back and try more flavors and experience the mash up of pizza and Indian food!

Amazing food! My husband and I are not vegetarians, but we love us a good vegetarian meal! (And trust me, those are hard to come by 🙌) ..India Palace is where to go for such a variety of food and flavor! I have also tasted their non vegetarian meals and have also tasted their vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free meals and let me tell you this place is no joke! Flavor upon flavor for every kind of person weather it is vegan, vegetarian or gluten free (or all 3). So many options and flavors for a variety of customers! 😊 this will be forever our new favorite spot to go to!

This place is very delicious and has a great tasting gluten-free menu. They source their ingredients locally and have a great wine selection. Their curries were delicious and o just cant do Indian without a lassi which was divine. Highly recommend.

One of our favorite date night spots! Reliably amazing food, easy options for gluten free, vegan, and some complicated medical restrictions. Friendly staff and a nice, casual feeling inside and outside setting. The stairs make it physically less accessible.

Well, this is my second review for Thaliwala and since my first review, I have returned four times with friends and family. I will probably be going back next week. Why?
The food is fantastic, authentic and everyone who has helped us are kind and attentive. We have almost a 30 minute commute to get here and that might be a blessing. If lived much closer, I would probably be here at least twice a week.
They have vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options which is a huge plus. My meals have always arrived hot and fresh and I have not had a single issue with anything I have consumed so far. The staff always tell us that our food is almost ready or if there might be a short delay. Great service!
The Twin Cities has a number of quality Indian food restaurants, but I am running out words to describe my enjoyment of this place. If you want to try superior Indian food and enjoy friendly service, Thaliwala is THE spot to visit. I hope this restaurant continues to grow and the more people who visit and love the food, only increases their chance of success. It is well deserved. Just writing this short review has made me hungry...

The buffet had vegan and gluten free options for my husband, but the food was not good, and it was very expensive. The bathroom was very old and dirty as well.
Some of the best food in the state of Minnesota, unlike anything you can get anywhere else. The establishment is spotless, the staff is very efficient and the food is quick, hot, fresh and delicious. Vegetarian and Gluten friendly. Spicey food junkies will also love this place. Go try it!

Delicious! We arrived at 6:15 on a Monday evening and were seated in a booth—there were a few other tables when we arrived but it was filling up by the time we left. Tasteful decor, warm colors, pretty light fixtures, a full bar with upholstered bar chairs, and honest-to-goodness—-as a former hospitality worker I actually exclaimed at how delighted I was that the silver was neatly (and uniformly) rolled and polished. That kind of attention to detail is a good sign, in my experience.
Food was fresh, everything was perfectly cooked (pakora crispy and well-seasoned, naan chewy on the inside and crispy at the edges, rice perfectly salted and steamed), and aromas hit the table 2 feet before the server. I got the neelgiri and my partner had the saag, both were delightful. Spice scale might be on the mild side for some diners—I ordered medium spice and my dish was at the spice level I think my partner was expecting when he ordered mild spice. His was kid-friendly.
Depth and balance of flavor was there. Curries were rich and creamy. Two entrees and two sides for $43 before tip. We will very much be back.
And bonus, the gluten-free items on the menu were marked! My celiac tummy is good so far, I’ll come back and Addend the review if I get sick later tonight.

Nicest people ever. The most delicious food I've ever had in my entire life. Went above and beyond a request I made about naan & roti / being gluten free for a friend with dietary restrictions. Amazing place, amazing people. Couldn't recommend a better place to be and eat.

EAT HERE!!!!!!! They have a good gluten friendly game going with many gluten friendly items on the menu. They can be busy, because they are so good, so be prepared for a wait. They do offer takeout, my go to way to get their food, and they are always ready when they say they will be. The food quality is also super consistent. If you have a favorite, it will always be prepared that way. I’ve eaten their food probably more than two dozen times.

We had a party of 27 that went of without a hitch. They worked with us on the food and our budget. It was great working with Maria. Service was good, food was delicious. We went mild due to the large number of people; I would recommend their medium- very tasty. This is a great choice for parties as they have vegetarian, gluten-free and meat choices. Their mango ice cream is heavenly and I don't usually do dessert.
I love the papadum, crispy lentil wafers with sauces.

I can’t recommend India Kutir highly enough. As a regular here, I’ve had many of their dishes and they’ve all been consistently delicious - tandoori salmon, tofu tikka, saag, dal, etc. Best Indian food in the Twin Cities. The staff are always friendly, super accommodating, and create a warm atmosphere. Everything on the menu is gluten free (except the naan). Go here, you will not regret it.
This place is fantastic. I live in the neighborhood and had it for the first time yesterday- I was blown away. Gluten free calamari?!! Amazing! Everything was great, the owner Thomas was wonderful. Good prices for the portions. I will be coming back!
I've been here a few times and never have a bad meal. Lots of good flavors and many gluten friendly options. Atmosphere is nice and the service is really good. I'm sure I'll be back.
Enjoy a fantastic blend of flavors and spices, making for a delightful dining experience that leaves a lasting impression.

This was an amazing meal! I have celiac and I was impressed to see that almost everything on the menu was gluten free. My paneer makhani was delicious and the medium spice was just right. Thank you for great food and service!
10/10 would recommend. I ordered lamb curry and my mom ordered chicken curry through grubhub. Grubhub did a great job delivering hot food right on time. I was beyond impressed that the curry was gluten free, and so full of flavor! It’s very difficult to find flavorful gluten free food that isn’t cross contaminated. The lamb was so tender and juicy, and the curry had so many flavors with cilantro especially being a star and bringing out flavors in the lamb. The portions were huge and absolutely worth the price. I was beyond impressed and will absolutely be ordering from here again next time I’m in the area
Great food, had a lot of variety on their menu. Love that they specify if items are gluten, dairy, or nut free. One of the nest butter chicken dishes in Rochester. Best paired with the garlic naan.
Gorgeous food with many gluten free and vegetarian options. Beautiful decor. Excellent service!

So over the moon about Nala’s! Though mostly vegetarian menu, there are several Gluten free vegan options available for those needing gluten, dairy, and egg free meals. I had their dosas and vegetable korma, and vegetable pakoras other visits and highly recommend. This time I had the Vegetable uthappam with coconut chutney, tomato chutney, and sambar. Sooooooo good!!
Give Tamarind a try you won't be disappointed.
We were so excited to see a new local Indian restaurant that appeared to have a focus on quality and broad choice and after our first sampling we were impressed.
We have a family member that is gluten free and dairy free and there was still plenty of choice for those with selective diets whether by choice or by need.
After trying the Papadum, mix Pakora, Chicken Vindaloo, and the Malai Kofta we were more than satisfied and commented about making this a regular staple in our go-to spots.
Quality ingredients, flavorful yet balanced spice, and a menu that will let us try something new for many many occasions mean you should give this a try.
With local spots needing support more now than ever let's do our part to support those that deliver. We will be back - welcome to the neighborhood!
I took too long to finally try this restaurant. I am so glad that I did. I enjoyed the goat biriyani, mini samosa (so cute), and the chai tea. All were made to order with care and quality in mind. This is a slow food experience that is worth the wait. The portions are generous, would be a nice place to share a few dishes with friends. It is a little restaurant, with 3 tables for 6 and some 2-seater tables. I like that the menu is conscious of different dietary needs and choices, including things like animal products, gluten, and nuts. This is also a place where you come for the food, not the service experience, practice patience and kindness and you will be rewarded.
Went for lunchtime buffet and it was great. Interesting variety and everything tasted great. Clean spacious tables, and the staff was happy to point out to my gluten-free friend which things she could eat. We will be back!
A great pre-game stop featuring a clear menu for various dietary needs and standout dishes that keep you craving more.

Popped in here for dinner before a Timberwolves game and it was fantastic! The menu was easy to order from with dietary restrictions clearly listed (dairy free, vegetarian, gluten free, vegan), plus all of our food was delicious, and service was exceptional. Still thinking about the Navratan Korma. We will absolutely be back and I’m so glad to know about this spot!
