We had brunch & the food was amazing. I had a veggie breakfast and every item was hot & delicious. Same for the avo and eggs roll. The gluten free options were a stand out too, able to swap items to allow them to be served gf. I added beans to the breakfast to make it more of a 'full English' as an extra but for the price would expect these to be included. That's my only constructive feedback really as was an amazing breakfast for both dishes.

Placed an order for collection, which included mainly gluten free items. One item included in the order was not gluten free, so the restaurant (specifically Ivo) contacted me by phone to check I was aware of this because he had noticed my order was mainly gluten free. I cannot thank Ivo enough for doing this, and when I arrived at the restaurant to collect my order, Ivo explained the lengths he had gone to to check this before calling me. Thank you Ivo, it really does make a difference for people who require these dietary options for medical reasons to feel like it is being taken seriously and checked. Also helps that the food was great as well! Will definitely go here again the next time we are in Cardiff!

Very aware and helpful. They are able to offer gluten free pasta and pizza bases. They also have Dairy Free/Vegan Mozzarella and soya cream! Absolutely fantastic to be able to have a creamy pasta dish!

Gluten-free (coeliac) heaven. Loved the food. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Delicious food. And we could bring our little dog. We had smoked salmon starter, pumpkin and porcine mushroom pasta (gluten-free) and gluten-free cheesecake. Fantastic.

We booked here because they said they could do gluten and dairy free. I had the best gluten and dairy free pizza and my son also had a gluten free pizza. It was really good. For starter we had the meat board and they brought nice gluten free bread to have with it rather than breadsticks. The staff are really friendly and make sure that everything is OK. The atmosphere is warm and there is a buzz with people chatting and in the background Italian music. We will definitely be going again when we are next in Cardiff

Absolutely love Italian Way. Fantastic menu, with excellent staff happy to help with any dietary requirements ( our table had a vegan, a gluten free and a lactose intolerant). Extremely good value for money, and genuinely the best pasta dishes I've ever had in Cardiff.

I am well overdue writing this review which has been hanging over me as Dolce Vita went the extra, extra mile for us and hosted the best hen party for my friend! I'm sure as many people planning hens have come across it is hard booking a private venue/area to have dinner for a price per head and this can get tricky if people understandably need to pull out etc and the price goes up for everyone (and so on and so on.) Also, a base cost to hire is often very expensive!! Anyway, I called Dolce Vita to enquire that if we were to arrive late enough on a Saturday, we might be able to hire an area of the restaurant, and also asked if we could bring a drag queen to host! I thought this was a massive long shot, but nothing ventured, nothing gained! To my surprise, the lady I spoke with was very open to the idea and also seemed excited by the prospect! She agreed to a set menu price per head which included a starter and main each and shot of lemoncello and this was very reasonable. She understood that our numbers may change slightly and within reason in the run up, and we locked it all in the week before. The food and drinks were DELICIOUS! Great portions and very reasonably priced, also lots of options for our vegan and gluten free guests. Our drag host then arrived (who was AMAZING) and we did a lot of terrible dancing and even worse singing. The staff not only tolerated us but also sang and danced along for some of it which was really fun! They were also very understanding when our 'one more song' turned into 3.... 🤦‍♀️😂😂 Basically, we can't thank Dolce Vita enough for hosting such an epic night. We were looking for a drag brunch initially and I'm glad we did this instead as it was SO much better and more intimate!! Dolce Vita's commitment to working with the customer and accomodating and fun nature are a credit to them. Thank you again Dolce Vita! 😊👍❤️🍕

Best Italian restaurant in Cardiff and cooked by an Italian chef!! We had the penne norma, classic pepperoni pizza and beef lasagne. Ended with a complimentary espresso (or limoncello). Very authentic Italian, not salty and with the right balance in taste n flavour. They also have a gluten free menu. Really a hidden gem in St David's Centre.

We moved to Cowbridge Road East a few weeks ego and I need to tell you it's our favourite pizza so far. We tried 2 other places first, but Calabrisella is way better if it comes to pizza choice. I have gluten intolerance, but I felt ok after (which I always do in Italy after pizza) so from time to time I will treat myself to their pizza for sure. Highly recommend.

We visited here last night after struggling to find any other restaurant to seat 5 of us quite last minute. I called to make a reservation as they do not have online booking and they were able to accommodate us very easily. We arrived and sat to enjoy a bottle of wine outdoors before moving inside and upstairs. The interior upstairs makes for a great dining experience with wonderful views over Cardiff bay as the location of the restaurant is very prime. The food was excellent and well priced with a lot of options. I went for the special walnut and Gorgonzola gnocchi which was delicious. I was also very impressed as my dad has a severe gluten allergy and they were able to accommodate very well to this and gave him several options which means we will most definitely be returning. Our Italian waiter was everything you want and expect from an Italian restaurant, he was charming, attentive, and a real asset to the business.

This is my absolute favourite Italian restaurant in Cardiff! Service is amazing and more importantly for myself they cater for gluten free with pasta and pizza options and they also make their garlics bread gluten free as well. Thank you :) definitely worth more than 5*

We came out for dinner to remember and honour my Dad's birthday (he passed away a number of years ago). The customer service from Anh was superb. It really added to our experience, which as it was a significant date for me, really added to my day. Anh's personality and warm manner are a real credit to this restaurant. I am also dairy and gluten intolerant and she happily checked my questions regarding elements of different items on the menu with the chef. In some restaurants it can feel like a bit of a hassle to have to ask questions and check options but she happily checked, making me feel it was no trouble at all. They do take allergens seriously here, which is something I always want to know when deciding whether to go somewhere. I hope the restaurant know what a star Anh is!

We had a lovely meal at Sunny's tonight. We had veggie and a gluten free diners with us and the manager was very attentive with his advice on ordering. He recommended the garlic mushrooms and they were very did not disappoint. The Mexican garlic bread was also a highlight. Burritos and fajitas were also very tasty and we enjoyed proper homemade chips. We'll go again!

Wonderful Italian cafe! We loved it. Pizzas were excellent, and gluten-free pasta was the best I've had tasted 👌 we sat outside in the sun 🌞 Great service, although I wouldn't say it's the fastest but that's because they made my gf pasta was scratch.

My girlfriend and I had a difficult time here this evening. We were seated upstairs. Despite me putting it on the booking reservation form, the waiter had no idea about what was gluten free on the menu. He then roughly made a guess at what he didn't think contained it before we agreed he should get the allergen menu. He then came back upstairs after checking and told me he didn't bring it because it was "too complicated" and that he would just tell me what is gluten free or not. By this point, you must appreciate I couldn't put my trust 100% in him. I appreciate that you cannot guarantee something being totally gluten free, but I think even a small indication on the menu should be implemented. Accidentally eating gluten can be really dangerous for some people and I think having a greater awareness among FOH staff would go a long way. The menu formatting was difficult too. There were drinks menus on the table but no food menus- just one big one upstairs out of view of most customers. The food itself was lovely and although it took a while, we expected it to because of how busy it can get. I'm sorry to leave this review. I wanted to have a good time, but the lack of awareness around a prominent allergen in the menu is concerning.

Family gathering of 7. Glorious menu with an amazing explanation of Gluten free options by well informed staff. 3 courses that everyone loved from lasagne to sea bass. Puddings were impossible to resist and tasted amazing. Very highly recommended.
