From what i understand this places reputation doesn’t even need a review because of how highly it was talked about but, here we are anyway. As a plant based gluten free person not often (or ever) do I get to indulge in Mac and cheese and holy macaroni this was single handily the best dish that has graced my taste buds. Is that dramatic? Yes absolutely but they earned it. The atmosphere, staff and options catered to dietary restrictions is off the charts. I also got their vegan gluten free brownie and it was divine. You have to go!

Reliable staple in my life. Fontell is a great host and member of the team. Such a great place for gluten free fries, gluten free wings, gluten free pizza, vegan Buffalo sauce is a must!

Swung by here for lunch and was very glad we did. We were worried that it was going to be a bunch of fake meat, but that was farthest from the case. Everything tasted super fresh and there's no manufactured weirdness here. It's a fixed menu, with self service tea and water. All gluten-free and vegan and super tasty. The black eyed pea veggie soup was ridiculously good - I would have ordered a vat of it if I could have. We got the chocolate cake - it was a mousse with coconut crust, and it was rich yet not overly sweet. Super tasty. I'm mainly sad I don't live in NorCal anymore because I'd eat here daily if possible, but when I am up here I'll be making it a point to come back again.

Food was good - though I did take out and the portions seemed a little small. Also - we made a mistake on the order, and the phone number takes you to an AI voice bot, which was very annoying. We also needed to check the status of if the fries were gluten-free or not due to dietary restrictions in the family. (The gluten status of items is NOT available online) Worse yet, when it decided it could not answer my question, it told me it could not connect me to restaurant and just offered me a voicemail box or an email address. Not helpful. Might as well not have a telephone number, almost cost them another star over all it was so aggravating.

When we finally got inside to sit down- 45 minutes after being added to the wait list at the front door - we had an exceptional experience. The servers were polite and efficient and were expert at mixing the Tea Leaf Salad (Laphet Thoke) at the table as we marveled at his skill. I then had a Burmese lamb stir fry (Kebat) with brown rice on the side. The lamb was delicious, subtly spiced without being spicy hot, though it did include large slices of tomato and no knife to cut the tomato. (Utensils provided were a fork and a spoon). I washed down the meal with a glass of Burma Ale, a hop free beer that was closer to a fruity/spicy juice with alcohol. Not beer but very tasty. Other friends dining with me had various combinations of vegan, gluten free and chicken main courses. We all cleaned our plates before heading out once more into the cold Oakland night.

I got a Reuben on gluten free bread and the serving size was HUGE. The pastrami was excellent quality, the kraut was super fresh and honestly these fries. The fries were perfectly cooked. Like the crispiest best little bites I've had in forever. I kept eating them long after I was full. I will definitely come back!

This place is awesome! Great atmosphere, delicious food, vegan and gluten free options. The Roti is some of the best I've ever had (vegan, not gluten free). Drinks were on point. Will be coming here more often from now own. No patio seating/no dogs.

The burgers and shakes are great, obviously. Be aware their fry oil is NOT GLUTEN FREE if that matters to you; they fry onion rings but don't have them on the online menu.

Thank you for filling portions and great gluten free fried chicken. Burma bites has become one of my favorite take out places during this pandemic. As a busy artist, I love being able to order and get my food so quickly. Everything I’ve had I really like. Yesterday I got mint chicken and it was really great but definitely didn’t taste like it had mint. I added my own fresh mint from my garden and it was perfect. Good job Burma Bites. Thanks for being here

Really delicious with friendly staff! We saw a lot of people getting the hotpot but didn’t get it because my friend is eating gluten free- it looked fresh and like big portions. Our server was able to tell my friend which banchan and dishes were safe for her to eat. I got the tteokbokki in rose cream sauce, which was huge and rich tasting with bacon.
