Great place, great food, great service. The owners are a really sweet couple, and they will do whatever they can to compensate for food allergies, like MSG, seafood/shellfish, soy, gluten, different nuts, all of it, if you ask. The place gets busy around 5-6pm at night, so coming earlier is always better! (or later, like around 8-9pm, when things cool down a bit) In the lunch rush, its usually 11-2 that's pretty busy, and they open around 10, so coming at opening would give you a good time! For Saturday lunches, they're not usually as busy (everyone comes Saturday nights), so you may enjoy the quiet a bit more then!
I used to work here as a server and cashier, I'd be largely involved with the customers all the way until closing. All around it's a very popular place with the locals, being right by Krogers. The owners (And Candy! She's a sweet woman) have been around for almost 2 decades, they previously owned China Express around the corner. It's become much more popular with the same good food. They love seeing people happy to enjoy their food.
On the unfortunate occasion that the food isn't to the customer's liking, the staff will happily take the food back and have them fix you something else of equal value, or if nothing else, a refund. It's their goal at the end of the day to make sure everything goes as smoothly as possible for a small dining experience.
One of the very few draw backs is that they're often understaffed. This isn't by choice, but from my personal opinion (as someone who had been there for about a year), the lack of staffing is from a lack of applicants that the owners feel they can trust (not completely unfounded, seeing as some of the few hired applicants never showed, or cancelled hours into the workday).
I'm obviously biased, seeing as I grew up with this place and these people, but I want it to flourish and grow and to be a happy place people come to eat and enjoy.
