They mark all of their GF items as GS (gluten sensitive). They are willing to accommodate when they can, but there are a lot of fried foods here. They do have sides like mashed potatoes and salad that can be substituted for fried sides. I went safe and had a Jamaican jerk chicken bowl. It was absolutely amazing! They have indoor and outdoor seating as well as an indoor and outdoor bar.

We were thankful to be able to grab seats at the bar during a very busy Monday lunch service as the bar was first come first serve and some folks were just leaving as we got in. We had a delicious gluten free and celiac safe lunch as we made our way north. Ben was our bartender and server. He was friendly and especially knowledgeable about the gluten free options. We got the shrimp and grits and he suggested we get the house special, the lobster bisque, which we did. The bisque was delicious with developed lobster flavor, hints of sherry, and huge chunks of lobster! Ben’s service was excellent! He is well liked and has number of regulars which also stopped in for lunch! I highly recommend you stop by, especially if you’re gluten free and looking for some delicious lobster bisque and shrimp and grits!

We happened upon this place on the way to another restaurant and decided to try it. It was a great decision! I visit here every time I come to Oak Island!! The majority of their menu can be made GF by cooking with GF soy sauce! It’s so delicious!!

A great waterfront restaurant with quite a few gluten free options. Most of the Chef’s Specialties are GF and come with roasted potatoes and green beans. There are also salads. Everything is cooked in a kitchens with a lot of flour and fried foods, so there is risk of cross contamination, but the staff is well trained.

This is a delicious place to eat. It was so good that we went back for our 25th wedding anniversary dinner. The Christian atmosphere was relaxing and friendly. The food is amazing and I have Celiac and had no problem. Thank you.

This new restaurant brings a unique and trendy vibe to Southport! They were accommodating to food allergies at our large table(gluten free friendly ~ desert is a must!) and offered guidance when looking at the delicious menu. Bo Saam (pork shoulder) is a must!!! Yummmmm :-)

I've never been here before and decided to order take out for 4 people. I was first impressed by the gluten-free options, if you have somone in your group you feel safe knowing they have choices. When I went to pick up the order, the hostess made my whole night. She was a riot and gave excellent service. All 4 orders were correct and delicious. We went there because D'S was closed and everyone like our food from Castuccis much better, we'll definitely be back.

This was our first time going to this restaurant. Our server was awesome. There is a separate menu with Vegan, Vegetarian and gluten free options. I got Tofu Curry. It had tofu, carrots and cauliflower in a yellow curry sauce served with rice. I got the mild and it still had a little kick to it. I also got tofu spring rolls with a peanut sauce. Very tasty. My boyfriend got Teriyaki Beef Noodles. He said they were good. We will definitely go back.

GLUTEN FREE cauliflower crust available AND it was good! One of the better gf pizzas I have had and the largest. Most of the time when you order gf, the pizza is more expensive and smaller than everyone else’s, but not this one! I had The Wild Mushroom. The mozzarella, provolone, and garlic on it hit just right.

Food was good someone brought me three different entrees for a meal train dinner. Good but had lots and lots of green onions in all the dishes. All were gluten free which is what I need. Thanks to my friend who picked it up, bought and delivered it over to our home after I had surgery. Fun@

There are not many GF options here and there is a high risk of cross contamination. The only thing I usually get here is their tuna special with potato salad and cucumber salad. I always let them know I have celiac. There is also an option of a burger without a bun and potato salad and cucumber salad.

Everything is gluten free here except the bread for the sandwiches. They don’t fry anything, so there is no fryer. The food was a little bland and you could tell their chips came from a bag. But the price is very reasonable and it’s a quick place to get in and out of. We got the nachos and island bowl with jerk chicken. They do have several sauces that you can customize your bowl with.

We were visiting from out of town & stopped in to have lunch at Blue Cow Grille. We were drawn here from reading other reviews & because they had gluten-free options & I have an allergy. We were extremely pleased! I got the Henny Penny on a gluten-free bun & it was delicious! It had a great flavor & the chicken was really tender. The other three people in our party each got cheeseburgers with french fries & chips & liked those a lot. Our waitress was very attentive & nice. We dined outside. We will definitely come back next time we are in town!

Kind of long but worth reading...especially if you have a food allergy! My husband and I made a reservation about a month or so ago...I was told over the phone that they had lots of gluten free options. The menu also lists many items GF. Upon arriving, we were seated promptly but when the waiter came over, I told him that the main reason I came was to have the fried oysters because the menu says they are GF. The waiter goes back to the kitchen and comes back saying that the fried oysters are in fact not GF. I pointed to the GF label on the menu and he said "well I'm sorry, they are not actually GF." Seriously?? He went back to the kitchen and came back and told me that the kitchen was overwhelmed and he was sorry for the confusion but the fried oysters are not GF...even though the menu says they are. He got aggravated with me and went outside to get the chef who was standing right by the front entrance smoking a cigarette (I only know this because we had to walk through his cloud of smoke to enter the restaurant) We got up to leave at this point and the chef was approaching us. He said "I am not sure why he is saying the fried oysters are not gluten free because they are...we make them GF all the time." Apparently the staff/cooks are not all on the same page with the menu which is unfortunate because we really had high hopes for this place!

This is a beautiful restaurant on the water with indoor and outdoor seating. They have an entire gluten-free menu that shows gluten-free items and also items that can be modified! They can get busy during the summer, so reservations are recommended!
