A great find in La fortuna! The interior decor is soo pretty and its located just a little bit outside the main downtown area. The menu was not super big but had many great gluten free options that were clearly marked. My family tried their ceviche, shrimp rice, grilled chicken bowl and Inca salmon. Most entrees came with two accompaniments, I would recommend the salad, the dressing was so good!

I eat vegetarian and gluten free so I thought this was the perfect restaurant. It also said on the wall of the restaurant that the cocktails between a certain time were 2000 colones. When I asked this was only for the Margarita and the Mojito and it would cost 2800 colones. I thought this was quite special, but I had to wait for the food first. I specifically asked not to put coriander in my food. Unfortunately it still came with coriander. I said that I really didn't like the dish with coriander in it, but there seemed to be little initiative to find a solution. My husband had something with chicken, but it ended up being an expensive kind of toasted sandwich. But quickly settled when he finished eating. Unfortunately it wasn't cheap either. More than 20,000 packages paid for 2 people.
This spot stands out with a vibrant atmosphere, creative dishes, and outstanding service that makes each visit feel special.

Argentinian fare.., Excellent service, nice atmosphere and the food was great. We were not familiar with the restaurant but went with friends who have been there before and we were not disappointed. I had osobuco which I had never had before. Friends ordered steaks and said that they were delicious. My wife is gluten free and they had a pizza for her that looked good too. Recommended.

Was amazing experience at this coffee shop. The view is unmatched. It overseas the three roads that get together right in front of it and all the action is happening in front of it. Staff was super friendly and the options for coffees are almost indefinable. Wi-Fi sucks a little bit, but can go around. A lot of gluten-free options. Super chill place.

We enjoyed the extensive multi-ethnic menu selections. Fish & chips to shawarma to gallo pinto. Gluten-free friendly, very helpful pleasant staff, clean, airy, with a lovely patio. Falafel plate was really tasty, set off with some sumac onions and great hand-cut chips cooked in fresh oil. Chori-pan with housemade salsa and more delicious hand-cut fries and a side of fried plantains. Tried some Costa Rican craft brew Rye IPA and Triple beers - delicious! All in all a really good visit and reasonably priced for the quality of food and service.
This cozy spot blends Costa Rican and Asian flavors in a vibrant atmosphere, making it a must-visit for creative dishes and a memorable dining experience.

The smoothies are very good!
They also have several gluten-free desserts and the bar is very nice.
The prices are a little high, but for the quality of the product and the service they offer, it is very good.
Ps. They have a shower for clients, which I think is great!

The food was just okay. I tried the gluten free burger. It completely lacked flavor and salt. I had to ask for extra salsa and had to add a lot of salt.

If you are Gluten FREE go here - their pizza is fantastic! Amazing service, great location, perfect wine list...just a perfect date night spot! Our waiter was so understanding of my tree nut and gluten allergies. I loved my huge pizza that was gluten free, great dough they made for me. I highly recommend a trip here for dinner. We were staying at Crocs resort and just walked into town to dine here.
Excellent food and location. I have celiac and was able to eat the fish and shrimp tacos and they were amazing! Staff was super knowledgeable and friendly. Highly recommend!

Really tasty food and good cocktails. Excellent birria and churros in particular.
My wife is a coeliac. The staff were helpful and she was not poisoned, which is wonderful. The corn tacos are fine and very tasty.
If we were here longer, we would go again.

I have been to Pico several times, the atmosphere is very nice, the guys are very friendly but the food always takes a long time to come out of the kitchen. They brought us the coffee and when the food arrived we had already finished the coffee for 5 minutes, when really I would have liked to have it with my breakfast. Last time I ordered some gluten free pancakes and it was the poorest dish I ate...it had 4 slices of strawberries and not even half a spoonful of chantilly.
It's not a cheap place so they could take more care of what they put on the plate from my point of view. I have been a chef for 20 years and I pay attention to these things.

Denied me entry because of my small ESA dog. She is well- behaved, doesn't bark, and is trained to sit by my feet.
It was pretty upsetting as someone recommended this place and I drove out of my way to go here and I passed up my last chance to eat at my favorite place in LA Fortuna to try this place cause someone said they should have gluten free options, which I don't even know if they do.
Really disappointed in this place. 😕

Large two level restaurant right off the main road in Potrero that is frequented by tourists. Ceviche and ahi tuna salad were both good. They had a nice local beer selection including a gluten free beer. Our waiter was very friendly and spoke good English.

Tasty Waves is a great pub/lounge type of restaurant that had pretty decent food. The staff bent over backwards to make something that was celiac safe for my partner which was really nice (and she didn’t get any reactions). The only one gripe was the garlic fries tasted like they were only tossed in garlic powder, but that was easily fixed with ketchup.

I am Celiac and I frequent Hooligans for their gluten-friendly menu, but this is the one with the worst service, the waitress who served me was scattered... She didn't note, they brought us a Pepsi Black and a natural soft drink had been ordered... After a while she arrived with a guacamole that was for another table... I had to respectfully ask the girl if she had ordered what we ordered, to be honest and tell me what they were preparing and it wasn't...
There was a strong renovation on the site but the details are not taken care of... I do not recommend this Hooligans! Zero complaints with the one from Moravia and Alajuela...

The gluten free pizza tastes like nothing, my friends said the regular pizza is not bad but needs more flavor. We complained about and just we only received a gesture like indicated “sorry, but not sorry” the worse customer service ever.

When I was reading about Nosara and seeing what there was to do and where you could go to eat while there, I was drawn to El Chivo. A new Mexican cantina with a story that involved a chupacabra involved? I had to go to there!
With Charlie the Traveling Chupacabra (as well as Cedric the Roaming Gnome) in tow, I enjoyed gluten-free tacos (chili butter shrimp with avocado), Mexican street-corn and an incredible chocolate pot de creme. My husband dug into his chicken enchilada and after that the fresh churros and we left as two very satisfied customers.
Sadly, our plans didn't allow for us to make a second visit during our stay, but I could have eaten at El Chivo every day and not grown tired of their offerings. If you find yourself in Nosara - or just near it - take a turn and head to El Chivo. You won't regret it.
