I have been to a few of the restaurants owned by “The lounge” and everytime I have been glutened I’ve had to ask about so many things on the GF menu even the coleslaw which by the way at the time wasn’t gluten free….the food is always amazing however I feel the risk is quite high for coeliacs like myself….
With a cozy vibe and excellent menu options, this spot is perfect for special occasions or a relaxed night out.

We chose this place because it looked like they had an amazing gluten free menu. The food was okay, nothing special, and I thought I could have made better food at home. We had to ask to be moved because the table behind us were cackling and shrieking. I couldn’t even hear my husband. We were moved to the opposite side of the restaurant next to another loud group. In truth, there are too many tables in the restaurant for the amount of space—it felt like we were scrunched together like sardines, and we could hear every word from the conversation of the table next to us. The server never came to check if we wanted more drinks or if the food was okay. When we asked for the cheque, we waited ages for someone to come take the payment, and in the end, my husband got up to find someone to take the payment because they were just standing around talking to each other and not paying attention. When he went to add the tip (because we felt that we needed to leave something even if it wasn’t a great experience), the card machine only had set percentages, so he was forced to leave a 20% tip. Such a shame because the menu online made it seem so much better than it was in reality. We won’t be dining here again.
Indulge in a delightful array of fresh cakes and enjoy attentive service that makes every visit feel special.

Great food, loved being able to order just one egg and 1 bacon (it was a good thick piece and very tasty) and my husband had a great cooked breakfast.
The down side was the coffee which was watery and bitter, wish I'd opted for a pot of tea as I could not drink it. It did not spoil the meal though, and I bought a slice of gluten free walnut and coffee cake to take away which proved to be delicious and a beautiful texture.
A charming venue with great ambiance, solid portions, and a varied menu, perfect for both intimate dinners and larger gatherings.

Menu was varied, but disappointed that they didn't have any GF bread available. The soup had to be sent back to the kitchen as they'd put croutons on it, even though we ordered gluten free. Waited a long time for our main course. Food was very tasty and decent portions, we ordered the evening specials. Didn't bother with dessert as there were no gluten free options available.

First time visiting for food, and I couldn't be more impressed... as a coeliac you never know what the quality of things like the bread will be and for me it can really elevate the offering .. it can be ok, good or fantastic... Well ...Bean and Bread get my top marks for the best gluten free bread I've had yet. Lovely local eggs too with the salmon and poached eggs on toast it was so delicious as was the americano, such good rich coffee.... thank you 😋. I'll be back next time I'm in town !!!

This is a great spot for coffee, cake or delicious lunch or brunch. The food is all vegetarian and they cater well for gluten and dairy free options. I visit regularly, though I’m not vegetarian.
Decor is quirky and cool. Dogs are very welcome. Great shop downstairs too for buying gifts or restocking for yourself in an environmentally friendly way
Enjoy a delightful dining experience with plenty of options and a unique view of the food prep, making every meal memorable.

I booked a table here for a family group meeting for 5 people. We all travelled about 1 hour to get here from our respective homes. What a gem of a find! A small pub in the town centre, it really stood out from outside the building as bright, clean and well presented. We weren't disappointed inside either.
We were welcomed as we came through the door, and the hospitality continued throughout our visit. The team at front of house were warm and friendly, the kitchen staff turned out some lovely home cooked food too.
On the menu, there weren't too many choices. This is a good thing as it was a well chosen menu. There was something for everyone in our party, including one gluten intolerant person and one dairy-free. There are labels on the menu for persons with dietary restrictions, and all you have to do is ask the staff if you have a query. There were some really tasty choices on the menu, and all meals coming out of the kitchen were well presented. There were also smaller meal size options on the menu. That leaves room for a desert...well worth doing here. The dairy free member of our party declared the Chocolate Orange Brownie with plant-based ice cream as 'the best pudding she'd had in a very long time'.
As I said previously, what a find! This is a pub we will definitely return to again when we meet up. Tip! - book a table. We saw quite a few people having to find somewhere else to eat.
A standout spot for an extraordinary afternoon tea experience that leaves everyone feeling included and excited to return.

Wow, just Wow!
I am Coeliac and this gluten-free afternoon tea was the best I have ever had. I usually feel like I am missing out being gluten free - but not here! Exceeded all expectations and I can’t wait to return again! Thank you so much :)
Clean, small, pleasant restaurant, serving excellent Turkish food for lunches & in the evening too. Delicious food, with a nice selection to please vegetarian & those who love their meat. There are gluten free options clearly marked, although no bread available on that score. Good selection of wines & beers, cocktails and alcohol free drinks!. No loud music drowning out conversation, although maybe in the evening it could do with a little more atmosphere.
