A cosy coffee shop that serves excellent loose leaf tea and amazing cakes. Seriously the carrot cake was delicious! It's a lovely place to take a break from exploring the city or shopping and has reasonable prices. Gluten free and vegan options are also available and delicious. Well worth a visit. The staff were friendly but not as welcoming as they could have been, they were pretty busy.
Imaginative dishes made with locally sourced ingredients, plus a cozy vibe that encourages leisurely meals and special celebrations.

Popped in for a new year's day brunch, dog and gluten free friendly. The food is locally sourced, seasonal and very tasty although I found that there were only a few vegetarian options available. I opted for the mushrooms which were fantastic. I like that they have an option of a small or large portion as I often only want a smaller meal. Overall very good, tasty food with super service.
Expect a vibrant atmosphere with a welcoming vibe, great service, and a fantastic mix of options for everyone to enjoy.

A lovely experience for evening dining with brilliant service. The servers explained the small plate dining and recommended order size perfectly and a great understanding of allergies, including gluten free. The prices aren’t cheap but the food is very good!
Great variety and solid quality, but you might need to ask for specific options if you have dietary needs.

Stopped in for a Cake and Hot Chocolate. A couple of Gluten Free cakes available plus a range of other fresh cakes. Worth a visit when in Shrewsbury. We called in on a wet day, but we nice to sit outside in better weather.
Enjoy a delightful and affordable lunch experience accompanied by live piano music, making for a charming atmosphere perfect for couples.

me and my girlfriend shared one gluten free full english between us with a side of chips each last week and it was both delicious and a nicely filling lunch. And the service was brilliant. A lovely young staff member played the grand piano for us! Was a lovely experience and very reasonably priced for the quality
I went here with my husband prior to going to a gig in Shrewsbury. I had been a year or so previously and knew they were gluten free friendly.
Firstly the service was dreadful. We were left sitting at our table for some time and eventually had to chase around to find someone who was willing to take our order. The starter arrived within a reasonable time, but there was a 40 minute wait for our pizzas. Again we had to chase around to find someone to ask about our meal. Eventually we were told they would put our pizzas in the oven as soon as the next lot came out. The pizzas eventually arrived, but at that point we were already late for the gig and knew we would miss a good part of the concert.
My husband said his pizza was OK, however my gluten free pizza was awful. The base was really soggy and tough. It was so dense and leathey in texture that I could not cut it. It tasted like sawdust and looked undercooked. No one asked us if our meals were OK and we could not find anyone to complain to. As so much time of our time had been wasted, eventually we quickly paid and left.
I was very disappointed in both the food and service and will not go back to Pizza Express.

We held a baby shower at the Riverbank on Sunday 23rd June. We had the whole upstairs area for 2 hours, with a little extra time at the start to get drinks. We were able to decorate the room in advance. I can not rate this experience highly enough, from the moment I booked the venue were very accommodating and easy to communicate with. The staff on the day were a delight to work with. We opted for the cold buffet and the guest all enjoyed there food, they also catered for vegan and gluten free. The price can for this can not be matched anywhere else in town.
A lively and authentic spot with a hearty menu, cozy outdoor seating for dogs, and a welcoming vibe that keeps people coming back!

Very authentic place and great quality food. We ordered a platter for two, and although it's seems expensive, we struggled to finish it!
The appetizers were also very good. Bacon bites, fried pickles, kids corndog and cheese pretzel were superb, but the Mac and cheese was something else!
They were also very attentive to one of our guests gluten free needs, double checking the intolerance chart with us.
There's so much on the menu I want to try, so we'll definitely be back!
With a cozy vibe and authentic Italian dishes, this spot captures hearts with superb service and great recommendations for your next meal.

Last night was my third dining experience with Osteria and it was truly incredible. The staff were amazing and as always, the food was delicious. Two of us had one of their pizzas and the other 2 had other dishes. They too were very happy with their selections. We also had starters and everyone loved what they chose. I had the calamari and it truly was the very best I've ever had. Two of us also had desserts. The lemon cheesecake was divine!
I tell all of our customers who are visiting Shrewsbury and looking for dinner recommendations about Osteria and I tell them all it's the best pizza I've had since we returned from our honeymoon in Italy in 2016.
For those with food allergens, I know how scary it can be to eat out. My husband is coeliac and we struggle to find restaurants with proper protocols to limit contamination. When I enquired about their protocols I was thrilled to learn how seriously they take food allergens and the lengths they go to limit possible contamination. I was also impressed by their menu selections for those with a gluten allergy. Most restaurants have a limited selection of gluten-free options. He has now eaten with them twice and has not experienced any of the symptoms he experiences when he has been contaminated at other restaurants.
Perhaps the best praise I can give them is to say that if they ever close their doors I think all of Shrewsbury will go into mourning. Between the incredible staff, the cosy atmosphere and the authentic Italian food they serve, I can't think of any other place I would rather take friends for dinner.
Enjoy stunning riverside views and a vibrant atmosphere, perfect for a leisurely meal, especially on busy weekends where booking is wise.

Lovely riverside location with good food. Brilliant service from Riley and the kitchen who sorted out an issue (I forgot to check a dish was gluten-free) quickly and with no fuss.

Stopped here for a lunch on my way home. Not really a fan of salad but the beetroot salad they do for starters on the set menu is actually quite good. They even serve gluten free bread for starters with dips and did a tasty chicken Shish for mains. Would definitely recommend to anyone who likes a good Mediterranean cuisine. Big shoutout to the friendly staff who work here too!

We came here on the 31/12/23. My dad is coeliac so when we found out he could have a gluten free bun we were quite impressed. It seemed no issue for our server Luke to check for us. He was very punctual and got back to us as soon as possible. Everyone in this pub is so happy and willing help to help us with our drinks. Thank you.
Expect top-notch wings and a fantastic selection of drinks in a lively atmosphere that keeps everyone coming back for more.

Best burger I've had in a long time, if not ever!!! And to top it off not only do they cater for coeliac's (gluten allergy) but the staff actually know what they are talking about and put my wife at ease with ordering her meal. 100% will be coming back and wouldn't hesitate in recommending to anyone. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Ps picture is my wife's, I was too impatient to take a picture of my burger
A teeny cafe with a BIG heart! ♥️
We were on a short break in Shrewsbury and our Airbnb was not far from Darwin's. So an ideal stopping point when we were tired and thirsty! As tempted as I was to have a Pina colada milkshake, I went for the non-alcoholic version while my son had a peanut butter one. I was also able to have a delicious piece of gluten-free carrot cake. They cater for dietary requirements really well. We enjoyed it so much we made a plan on the spot to return after check-out on the Saturday morning!! A full English really set us up for a looonngg day of travelling. Despite being ever so busy - both staff were so friendly and we bought some Shrewsbury biscuits for family (including a Vegan version, wish there was a gluten-free one but I know myself how hard it is to bake with GF flours!) Great value for money and proper home cooked food with quality ingredients. We loved our visit and hope to be back soon.
An amazing hidden gem with a spacious interior, offering a fresh lunch menu that’s both affordable and full of unique flavors.

Years ago the foods used to be lovely but now it has changed maybe new chef. I had grilled chicken with bacon gluten free sandwich club, asked swap to feta cheese instead of melted cheddar cheese but still charged for feta cheese! Also few months ago I had vegetarian breakfast - halloumi cheese it was over cooked, avocado were bit brown , poached eggs were uncooked.
