I got a salad bar with salmon and my party also got the Rice Krispie bar and a grilled cheese tomato soup combo. It is on par with other Jason’s Deli and I appreciate the options for dietary restrictions like gluten free bread, etc.
Expect a caring atmosphere where attention to allergies is prioritized, making it a haven for those with dietary restrictions.

My toddler has quite a few allergies. When we alerted our server, he got the GM, Stacy. She came straight to me, introduced herself and explained that quite a few things had what he was allergic to in them (dairy, egg whites, soy, wheat/gluten, alpha-gal). She let me know what they had that would work. I asked if they had a white fish (my little one loves white fish). She said yes! She asked what they could cook it in for him. She gave it to the kitchen. They used gloves, clean pans & ensured there was no cross contamination for him! They bent over backwards to make sure he had something he could eat. It truly came from a place of concern and I will forever be grateful!
NOT FOR KIDS - These guys took burgers and chicken drumsticks off the kids menu. Hope your kid likes grilled cheese or mini pork sandwiches. Otherwise, you will spend 2-3 times as much for a burger or chicken for your kids. This also means there are now no gluten free options on the kids menu. Because of this, our little girl who eats next to nothing has to order a larger portion off the adult menu or she will get sick. Check the photo of the huge value we got out of spending twice as much for our other child’s burger. It’s the exact size we used to get for much less.
I want to take a moment to focus specifically on the fact that Jim N Nicks’ kids menu no longer has a hamburger on it. Let that sink in. What kids menu doesn’t? The Mexican and Chinese restaurants we frequent have kids’ burgers.
I want to wrap this up by saying that we just can’t go to Jim N Nicks with our children anymore. That, and I sure am glad I never went to this restaurant craving a burger. That thing was paper thin. Like somebody had smacked a slider with a frying pan. A nine dollar, flattened slider.
Edit - While I appreciate Jim N' Nick's attempt to get me to just accept a free meal or two so I won't make a fuss about this not being a kid-friendly restaurant, really the only thing that will fix this is Jim N' Nick's fixing it's kids menu. Parents enjoy your food and like to spend time with their kids. Fix this.
It's so simple and cheap (extra $$ for you) to take some chicken wings and throw them in a fry basket. No breading. No seasoning. Fry it until it floats and put it on a plate with some fruit and ranch dressing. You already have all of these ingredients. Kids love it. Parents love when kids don't complain about their food so everyone can have a good time. Don't leave parents hanging just because your chef isn't capable of thinking up these simple solutions when you realize you're loosing money on certain dishes (in Jim N' Nick's Bizarro(TM) accounting). I'll let you know an issue with your accounting that you may not have considered - if families can't come in to enjoy your restaurant, you will go out of business. Full stop. Do you really want to shed 15-20% of your business?
Good food. Reasonably priced. Fun atmosphere. A variety of different kinds of tacos to choose from. Not just your typical tacos. There are other options as well but we all had tacos. There are a some gluten free options if you ask.
Not impressed. Sorry! I got the chicken bowl. Maybe, that's reason. I needed GF, and they had offerings like Cole slaw and fries. Not very gluten free friendly!
Such nice servers, you truly feel like you are among friends here. Wonderful drink and food options as well. Added bonus of getting treats from The Joyful Food Co. here perfect for my daughter with celiac disease. Ongoing puzzle to work in and beautiful local art!! A neighborhood gem!!
Enjoy top-notch coffee and tasty treats in a cozy atmosphere known for its delightful baked goods and welcoming vibes!

One of the best burgers in Birmingham, and the seasoned fries are amazing! Don't forget to dip them in the special sauce! I can not have gluten, and I get the craft burger on lettuce and the fries and it is awesome! They do shakes, too, and I intend to try one the next time. Barry and his staff are very friendly and helpful. I love to support local businesses!
The food was so good
I love that they give you a taste of different Asian flavor.
And lots of their stuff is made in-house, and they have gluten-free food as well
