Note: Only writing this to let the owner know in case they aren't aware of the celiac review apps and the recent change. It's otherwise an excellent place with amazing staff and food, hope that it can get resolved for the celiac community.
Something has gone wrong with their sourcing of gluten free ingredients.
I have celiac and suddenly after incorporating this restaurant into my diet my blood work numbers have exploded upwards. I track my numbers very closely multiple times a year and I've done a lot of elimination and it points pretty heavily towards this place as being the culprit. This also reflects in the reviews for find me gluten free website where people are getting violent reactions in the last year. Hopefully they eventually figure out where the gluten is coming from so that other celiac individuals and I can go back here again as their food is otherwise very tasty. I would recommend them to redo the testing that they once did in 2019 to figure out where the source of the problem is. Thank you
A vibrant, bustling spot with an impressive variety of delicious vegan options, perfect for those with dietary restrictions.

Food was ok, came out quickly and service was great but it was busy and relatively loud while we were dining. The ramen was the most disappointing to me- noodles seemed borderline overcooked and the broth was just salty but with little actual flavour. I found it to be some of the more blah vegan dishes I’ve had in a while. It was either super spicy or just tasted like rice. The vegan cream cheese seemed a little off to be honest but that’s on me for not saying anything. I will say they’re great at accommodating allergies as I’ve heard they’ve accommodated gluten free + avocado allergy.
The Best empanadas I've ever eaten!!!
Served warm with generous filling, many vegetarian or gluten free options. I've tried the mushroom empanada and the banana and dulce de leche (sweet), they were both delicious and at a good price.
They have some good refreshing drinks too.
I definitely recommend!
Expect a cozy vibe with flavorful ramen, rich broth, and generous portions; a fun spot for both traditionalists and those seeking unique options.

THE BEST Ramen I've had! Can't wait to go back and try a different one. I had the signature pork, and the pork belly just melts in your mouth....not the broth!. Delicious!
Also HUGE selling point, which brought us there was the Gluten Free Ramen!. My kiddo, who is GF said the noodles were just ok, but the rest of the soup was yummy!. Can't find many GF Ramen places so we will definitely be back!
The desserts are fun and tasty as well!
Charming vibe with cute decor and accommodating service, perfect for a nostalgic breakfast or brunch experience.

We'd eaten here almost exactly a year ago and really loved the gluten free and vegan options so we tried it again. Ordered the mediterranean chicken, shrimp, lamb and falafel rice bowls for takeout. Didn't bother checking the order as we waited for it and were in communication with the cashier at the time who let us know our order was ready. Get home and they switched the shrimp for some gyro seeming meat and didn't bother to label the lamb and chicken which looked suspiciously similar. The person who ordered the chicken last year couldn't eat their dish as it seemed to be way over spiced. The person who ordered the shrimp was understandably disappointed but it was too far and too late to go back. Will not order from Healthyish again as it was a very sad meal - with the exception of the falafel bowl which was delicious.
This spot offers a vibrant Italian vibe with attentive service and delicious meals, making it a perfect choice for memorable gatherings.

AN AUTHENTIC ITALIAN RESTAURANT. I say for 3 reasons: 1. All the staff are Italian 2. A member of my dinner party lived in Italy for several years, is fluent in Italian who also has an Italian husband and she confirmed this place screamed proper Italian 3. It gave me massive nostalgia of my recent trip to Italy a few months ago.
I came with a party of 7 for my girlfriend's birthday. The manager Andrea was there at the front door to welcome us and quickly made small talk with our Italian speaking party members. We were sat upstairs in a balcony type seating which gave us a full view of the dining room - absolutely beautiful.
Our waiter Marco was attentive and knowledgeable about the whole menu. We had a child with celiac so he quickly told us everything that she could eat and she loved every bite of it!
All of the appetizers were amazing especially the meatballs, we had to order a second round. We ate the calamari, salads, and burrata which tasted amazing. We ordered individual pasta entrees of different varieties. Each member of my party could not stop talking about how delicious it was - IT WAS PROPER AL DENTE.
Drinks are so reasonably priced. A glass of wine is $10-$14 which is SOO cheap in my opinion but all the wine tasted amazing - the bottles all cost about $40-$50 which is very affordable.
To further compliment Marco, it was a busy evening but he never forgot a single thing we ordered even down to the modifications in a single persons entree. Even if his other duties created a longer wait time for our requests he continually reassured us that he would take care of it which he did.
Desserts were phenomenal and they were nice to us to comp a dessert for the birthday member. We had the Tiramisu, Red Velvet Cake, and the Panna Cotta.
Each one tasted amazing and we continually ate them despite how full we all were. Andrea was also so kind to bring the celiac child (Born in Italy and also speaks Italian) some gelato as it was gluten free and she was so thankful!! Andrea also gave us some Limoncello which tasted delicious!
As someone who works for a high-end restaurant in San Francisco, Bottega truly is one the best restaurants I have had the pleasure of visiting. This place is 20/10 and I WILL be back as soon as I can.
This is a repost of my yelp review, I wanted to make sure it was on both google and yelp.
Crepes were tasty, my husband and I both got one and I got the gluten-free (rice flour) crepe, which is $2 extra. Seemed a bit too expensive, especially because it's a modest hole-in-the-wall place. They made the food fresh, there was about a 15 minute or so wait even though we were the only ones there. But then they brought us free spicy pickled veggies, homemade salsa, and a different bubble tea sample for each of us. The crepes were very large, too; it ended up being a lot of food! All in all that was a good experience, not sure if the spicy veggies are standard but other reviewers said they got tea samples, too. While we were there (around the time school gets out) probably at least a dozen teenagers came and at least half of them just hung out, so it got really crowded.
The bubble tea was advertised as $3.00/small & $3.50/large which seems cheap anyway if you did want to splurge for that.

Vegan sausages. Beyond Hot Italian and Beyond Brat, both delicious. (They also have a Beyond burger). They allow you to switch up the sides and offer a great salad. You can also add hot peppers and sauerkraut. Get the gluten free bun or no bun for fully vegan. Rosumunde also generally has sour beers on tap.
Savor Detroit Style pizza with crispy edges and a variety of delicious options, all made quick and perfect for a late-night craving.

Pizza joint within the mission district area with quick-pick up options for square, thick crusted pizza. Although the appearance itself was very appetizing, the texture of the bread was pretty dry and did not feel high quality. The toppings were slightly excessive and drowned out the integral pizza ingredients including the cheese and sauce. The price did not equate to the quality or quantity of the pizza and the staff did not understand I had just wanted one of each pizza type, so they ended up charging me more than I had wanted. The environment is more accustomed for take out. No gluten free options.
Dine here for a vibrant culinary experience featuring creative dishes and cocktails that always impress; it’s a must-try!

Great brunch spot with an extensive menu that can accommodate dietary restrictions! We visited for a late Saturday brunch around 1:15pm and were seated right away. I ordered the chicken and waffle and my friend ordered the original benedict with gluten free bread. We both also got glasses of red sangria. Both dishes were great! I was especially impressed with the quality of the chicken. Fair portion size and quite affordable pricing for SF brunch.
Highly recommend Krua Thai. Excellent, affordable Thai food in the Mission with a wide variety of options and very accommodating of gluten free dietary needs. I usually get the panang curry, pad thai, or fried rice. All are excellent. For both dine-in and take-out, the staff are attentive, kind, and efficient. Thanks Krua!
A great little Spanish restaurant with tasty (and gluten/dairy free) paellas and tapas. Street parking is fairly easy and the staff were so friendly and wonderful!
Feast on flavorful, fresh-made pastas in a charming ambiance that echoes its beloved predecessor, with a delightful sorbet to top off your meal!

Penny Roma marries the former Central Kitchen's fresh, market-driven California cuisine to the fresh-made pastas from sister restaurant Flour + Water (which is currently closed for renovations). We loved the old Central Kitchen restaurant: the decor/ambiance is almost identical, and if you liked Central Kitchen's food, you'll find a lot to like here too.
Food: The marinated squash & mushrooms were delicious although it might have worked better as a hot (versus cold) appetizer. The foccacia was crunchy and bursting with flavor. The tonnarelli cacio e pepe had a delicious sauce, although the pasta was a bit thicker & chewier than what you'd get in Rome. The seared trout was deliciously fatty and well-prepared, on some super-fresh greens with interesting accompaniments. Fregola Sarda was the only slight disappointment of the night; the flavors of the saffron and seafood were a bit overpowered by something acidic (vinegar?). Finally, the pomegranate and bay leaf sorbet was an outstanding dessert: the bay leaf complemented the pomegranate perfectly, adding an almost herbal minty-ness.
Dietary restrictions: for a place with a heavy pasta emphasis, there are a fair number of gluten-free dishes (and dairy-free, with a few minor modifications)
Kid friendliness: we brought our 5 year old, and although there is no "kids menu", they made a half-portion of pasta for him (he loved the cacio e pepe, although I suspect many kids would also like the bolognese), although his favorite thing was the foccacia
Prices are reasonable considering the quality of the ingredients & cooking
Getting in: book ahead (reservations open 2 weeks beforehand), sign up for last-minute openings on Resy, or arrive early for a walk-in spot (we arrived at 5 PM on a Sunday, and were 2nd in line for the 5:30 opening)
We found this place looking for gluten free options. The owner was excited to talk about his homemade gluten free bread recipes and his ideas for other gluten free products. The sandwiches he made us were very good. I had the Avocado bacon sandwich and it was the best sandwich I've had in a very long time. The prices were reasonable, and the staff were very friendly. Many people just popped their heads in to say hello to the owner. The decor is nothing special, and once you try his food you realize he puts all of his energy into making great breads and sandwiches. You should really check this place out.
Unique eats and a cozy outdoor heated patio create a fun vibe, plus great music makes it the perfect spot to chill on Mission St.

Loved the food here - so many delicious and unique things we’ve never seen before. We had the rolls, eggplant starter, koko wings, cheese and mushroom empanada, crispy pork belly, and coconut milk braised cassava. The wings, empanada, and cassava were especially standouts. We were so impressed that the empanadas were gluten free - we want to bring all our gluten free relatives here because you can’t find that anywhere!
We sat on the outdoor heated patio, which is a very fun atmosphere. Music is great, audible but not too loud for conversation, and in the tent you definitely could forget you’re on Mission St.
Their wine selection is also great!
Enjoy a cozy vibe with unique local artwork, handcrafted dishes, and a memorable chocolate experience served with warmth and care.

Love this place - been following them since they were inside the MEDA space. Extremely friendly and dedicated staff putting so much care into each dish. I'm gluten free and vegetarian - they made a special memela for me without pork fat. I also got a Oaxaca Chocolate, which the serve brings to your table and mixes and pours the divinely sweet warm chocolate milk from a handmade ceramic pot into your ceramic mug. Came here on a Thursday evening after work with two friends. It can take some time for the food to come out as they hand craft each dish in a small space - but worth the vibes and the wait. They also have local art work displayed in the dining area. They serve beer, wine and lots of N/A beverages (aguas fresca, coffee, hot chocolate and more). Also highly recommend the champurrado :)
