I want to tell you the pizza is great - they have a tasty gluten free crust! And when they get the online orders correct, the pizza is great- but the last few times we’ve ordered one of The pizzas is missing one or a few items. Once you could count the shreds of cheese on the cheese pizza.
Please, encourage your staff to pay attention to details!!

Do not go to The Grit Counter if you have food allergies and want to try grits. They cannot accommodate you. I can't have dairy or gluten and apparently all of their grits have dairy... so disappointing. I'm in Charleston for the first time and wanted to try the local flavors. Yesterday, I got a takeout order and specifically told the person who took my order that the burgers and hotdogs had to be in bowls for allergies.
I have ordered food this way from this location many times with success. However, this time, my wife, who has severe celiac disease and can not eat anything that has gluten, had a terrible reaction. The only possible reason is that the food was cross-contaminated when it was being made. Something as simple as an employee not following the allergy protocols that Five Guys has in place caused a very painful experience for my wife and I.
This store needs to take allergy requests seriously!! It's very important to those of us who have medical issues!

It was my first time eating here, and it was worth trying it out. I am gluten-free, and the French toast, which was made with GF bread, was absolutely delicious. The turkey sausage links were good, too! Service was welcoming. The atmosphere was a good vibe. I had to wait for food for a bit to come out because it was a Sunday and extremely busy, but I still highly suggest trying the food here for breakfast or brunch.
