NO LONGER ALLERGEN FRIENDLY
When I started eating here in 2019 I was *thrilled* to find a celiac+allergen friendly place serving gut-healthy, in-house made stocks and gluten free grain based bowls. Alas, a corporate entity saw their success, and ever since this place was bought out, it's been on a steady decline in food safety and quality. My breaking point is the removal of the GF Mac n Cheese, and continued addition of gluten-containing options to the menu. There is *very little* care given to cross contamination and no one knows what celiac disease is and they're just kinda tired of hearing the complaints about the GF Mac n cheese at this point.
Greensboro is a wasteland for celiacs, ya'll, and I'm just going to stick with Ilobesca.
This spot is a go-to for amazing sandwiches and a fresh salad bar, perfect for anyone with dietary preferences.

I am so excited they had gluten-free bread so you can do any sandwich and gluten-free. The salad bar was really good. Overall experience is awesome. Definitely recommend if you have a dietary problem or issue.

They had great food! Their gluten free buns are great! They said that the hot top is shared so there could be a little cross contamination if you are very sensitive, but they have good gluten free options if that isn't a problem! They even have a vegan/gluten free burger that my partner loved.
Expect generous portions, a cozy atmosphere, and a delightful mix of options that keep guests raving about the experience.

This spot was a cute spot to try. It was definitely busy when we went but as much as I wanted to love the place, at the end of the day it was just ok. I had the Rosemary Ham skillet, cheese grits and Gluten free French toast.
I will say the French toast was delicious. I would definitely recommend that. It’s not often gluten free French toast is an option and the bread they chose was very good.
The cheese grits were on the salty side and the skillet was good but I guess I was expecting more flavor and it just fell a little flat.
The service was excellent and it was a cute spot.
A spacious spot with a diverse menu and a classy vibe, it's perfect for both casual lunches and larger gatherings.

Since opening up shop in Winston-Salem forty years ago, Village Tavern has expanded to include eight locations. Perhaps because of its longevity, the impression I got of it was of a dated brunch/lunch spot patronized by well-to-do seniors, and so it never claimed a high spot on my to-try list. After paying the Greensboro location a visit, however, that perception has somewhat changed.
Village Tavern occupies a large building with plenty of seating, and though they keep busy, they seem set up to accommodate the volume. My wife and I showed up for lunch on a Monday and had no wait for a table in the bar area, which was nicely appointed. Think classy without feeling stuffy.
Just as the restaurant is sizeable, so too goes the menu. Apps, soups, sandwiches, salads, entrees, tacos, burgers, and pizzas are all offered here. There are gluten-free and vegetarian options, and you’d be hard-pressed to find something not to your liking. We ended up going with fish and chips and shrimp and grits. The food arrived quickly, and our server was polite and responsive throughout the meal.
Shrimp and grits is one of my go-to dishes, and no two places do it the same way. Village Tavern’s version uses white grits and bacon rather than tasso ham. Purists may quibble, but I found it excellent. The grits were creamy without being too heavily cheesy, the bacon added a hint of smokiness, they didn’t skimp on the shrimp, and the mushrooms were a nice touch. The fish and chips boasted crisp and generously battered cod. It wasn’t on par with what you’d find in a seafood bar, but it did not disappoint. The sauteed spinach – substituted in for coleslaw – was tasty as well though the fries were only so-so.
While I was wrong about Village Tavern’s décor (more appealing than I thought) and clientele (more diverse), I was right about its price point. Both entrees ran north of twenty. While the fish and chips offered a good amount of food for the money, the shrimp and grits felt like a dinner price for a lunch portion.
All told, Village Tavern is a solid jack-of-all-trades restaurant. It offers a little bit of everything and seems to execute well enough. It’s more likely to leave you satisfied than impressed, but the service and atmosphere make it worth your while.
Expect a relaxed vibe with standout dishes and a bit of a wait for meals that leave a lasting impression.

Mostly good experience!
Made a 7:45pm reservation and was sat immediately in a booth. The AC was super cold, and we were greeted by 2 waitstaff within moments.
The restaurant was very accommodating and knowledgeable about gluten containing dishes and was able to provide almost every dish with substitutions.
We ordered the following: a sazerac, glass of Pinot Grigio,a Summer of 89 cocktail, crab dip starter, roast chicken entree, and catfish entree. Things were delicious and service came at a good frequency.
A few cons from the night:
My glass of water came with a few black specks, but I just picked them out. Both cocktails were below quality (one very watery and one ultra sweet). The catfish entree came with grits and there was a 2 inch long hair in the middle of it. I decided to pick it out and ignore it.
I probably won’t come back here, but would try another one of their restaurants.
Cozy vibes with a nice atmosphere make for great conversations, plus a menu that offers something for everyone, including a family-friendly touch.

I ordered the NY Strip (rare because I anticipated it would be overcooked) and my friend ordered the penne pasta. Her serving was enough for 2 large meals. My steak was served warm pink center so it was medium, not medium rare (my hope) or rare (as ordered). I think the issue is that too many people don't know what the correct temperature is for the various levels of doneness and too many times the orders got sent back to the kitchen for additional cooking, so the cooks are conditioned to overcook the food rather than deal with plates returned. It's a common problem within this price range.
My steak quality and texture was really good, tender for a strip steak, and there was no meat glue used, just a single cut as it should be. They did a fabulous job of accommodating gluten-free needs.
Our server was kind, attentive enough, and knowledgeable. The atmosphere was really nice. You can hear one another in conversation without having to raise your voice or leave hoarse from trying to talk over the din like a lot of places nowadays.
I'd give them 4.5 stars but not 5, but Google only uses split stars for averages not for ratings.

I have to have gluten-free noodles so ordered the spaghetti Bolognese but when my husband brought it home, I had bravo pasta, which was not gluten-free. So we called and Chris said that he would remake my order. It tasted delicious. It was very nice that they remade the correct order since it’s not healthy for me to eat regular pasta. All in all it was a good experience.

Went for a birthday celebration. Server was Sam and he was excellent. My wife needs to eat gluten-free and Sam was extremely knowledgeable and attentive to this issue. Even brought a special fruit and cheese tray in lieu of table breach for her. She had the filet with crab stuffing and a baked potato on the side. I started with the Burrata followed by the filt with grilled asparagus. Everything was cooked perfectly and we left quite satisfied but not before a surprise box of chocolates for my birthday

Found this place through a quick search and I’m very happy I made my way over for a quick lunch. I had the chicken salad sandwich on gluten free bread and the gluten free couscous. I had originally ordered fries but changed my mind. I took a quick scan for my server but didn’t see him so I figured fries it would be. Unknowingly, another server saw my quick glance around and approached and ask if she could assist. Excellent service and excellent food! Highly recommend

One of my favorite places in Greensboro. Organic, fair trade teas and related products. They carry a lot of local skincare, candles, and other goods too. They’re conscientious about marking potential allergens, and they have lots of options for vegan and gluten-free patrons. Very calm and pretty atmosphere. Woman-owned and operated!
Food was absolutely amazing! The service was quick and all the servers were so friendly. The owner was so nice. They have lots of gluten free and vegetarian options and adaptations. This is my new favorite restaurant!
Chai and dessert here offer great flavors, though service could be faster, leaving you wanting more of your favorite treats.

We stopped in Greensboro on our journey back to Durham and we had chai here. We also ordered dinner to go. The chai was great except that is was not hot enough. We also had dessert on the spot. The serving size was rather small and left my daughter wanting another bowl. Besides that, the taste of both the rice pudding and rasmalai was great. The service was great and they answered all of my questions related to my daughters gluten free restrictions. Now once we get home, will see how good the main dishes are, but until now, it was great experience. My one complaint however, is that the service took a bit more time than I expected considering that we only ordered 2 cups of chai and a rasmalai and rice pudding on the spot. And the time to make and pack the actual order also took much more time than expected.

What can i say, Big Burger Spot Lied to us. DONT EAT HERE. The food isnt handled right, produce isnt washed properly( flies on lettuce ) kitchen isn't cleaned properly, the floors aren't cleaned properly. What i mean is if you don't eat pork, pescatarian, vegetarian, have a gluten intolerance, or a no beef diet ( or any dietary restrictions ) then you can't eat here because every utensil is used for every burger and as a customer ive seen it. Its out for us to see. Every cover to melt cheese on a beef burger, will be used on an impossible or turkey. The same press used on your chicken is the same used on your tuna. Keep in mind all raw. The same flat top used to toast your buns, is coated/seasoned with bacon grease. The impossibles and black bean burgers are cooked on it and eggs and more bacon if its an cowboy/cowgirl blt. Ice machine has mold in it, bugs flying around, bread isnt tied so it gets hard spots and subject to insects etc. All this out for us customers to see. Theres more and more red flags and it gets worse. If you want to see the FULL REVIEW check out the link. I have more pics for proof; trust me you will be shocked. Great little coffee shop! Got the chai and Purple Orchid with macadamia nut milk. a couple gluten free options and lots of dairy free milks to choose from. Local art and wares, too!
I love this place. Not only is it one of the best NY style pizza places in the area, in my opinion, but the staff is always super friendly and helpful. The prices are reasonable, especially for kid meals, and they have tons of options (including vegan cheese and gluten free crusts).
Expect a well-organized spot with attentive service, cleanliness, and a satisfying menu that makes you wish it was in your neighborhood.

This is the way a fast food restaurant should operate. We were greeted by at least two employees when we walked in and helped making food selections since one of our party need gluten free. Our order was brought to our table and we were checked on several times to see if we needed anything. The restaurant and restrooms were clean and food was delicious. Wish I lived closer.

I’ve been once, love looking at everything on Instagram. The brisket is amazing, exactly like I make mine. I order it frequently on DoorDash for lunch. I wish they had more gluten free options requested so that I had more stuff to try. Doesn’t keep me from ordering the brisket and the Brussels though. One day I will make it across town for everything else.

I will warn you, it is a bit loud in here, as every time we go it is Packed. I mean it! And the popularity is very much deserved. The food we got was delicious, the service was excellent, and we definitely like that they offer an entire allergen free menu, since my mom has celiac.

We came during dinner on a Saturday evening. It was very busy, truthfully. I was surprised at the freshness of our food regardless of how busy it was. The vegetarian menu was full of choices and basically anything you ordered could be made vegan/vegetarian/gluten-free. The staff was nice, but busy. Each time a waitress would ask if we were ok, she would be trying to prematurely walk away as if to say, oh please don't ask for anything else. Thank God for that boy coming to our rescue. Nice, thin, guy with black hair and beard trimmed neatly. The chicken souvlaki was to die for! It was very tender, very flavorful and my husband ordered 2 more! The hummus, good flavor but really cold. The falafel, definitely left something to be desired. The pastitio with bechamel was to die for! Big salad! And awesome balsamic vinegarette! The grape leaves (domades) were canned so don't waste your money. Tzatiki was good. Spanakopita was ok, but not like mine at home. Gyro meat was good and tender with thorough seasonings . Parking was easy to access for handicap but could definitely be a problem for someone without a handicap placard, especially during rush hours. The environment was excellent. The bathrooms were decent and had tissue as well as being cleaned. The business owner definitely has a lot of restaurant experience and knows how to utilize his help and resources. The 2 young ladies that I mentioned had little personality to begin with. I know... you say, "You didn't go to be treated like a queen.." my answer to you? No. You're right . I didn't. Queens get high treatment because they are queens. I paid over $90 for 4 people, so I deserved to be have my plates moved from the middle of the table before the end of our meal. Anyway, I still gave it 5 stars because everything else was so great. The food, parking, menu, freshness, taste, cleanliness, and most of the staff. I tipped the young man separate and left the other girls a tip to split. They helped each other out tremendously, though. Therefore, taking a star away was not an option for me. It was a great eating experience and I enjoyed our trip to Greensboro. We plan to come back when back in the area. We hope that the 2 ladies (blonde and strawberry blonde) will grow up a little bit and remember that we are paying customers. We do not ask for free meals. Therefore, courtesy without being rushed should be a bare minimal matter to grant to the customer.
Don't hesitate to stop and eat here. Absolutely amazing!!
Best meal I've had in quite a while. I had a great experience here, I have celiacs disease and alpha gal so it can be hard to find places that accommodate your needs. Not only was our sever super kind(Kate I believe) she was very understanding of the gluten allergy and offered a gluten free bun they could substitute. It was beyond satisfying to have a grilled chicken sandwich and actually enjoy the bread. I even asked the brand because I enjoyed it so much. I had a great experience and would return if traveling through the area again.
Excellent food! Try the collard greens! And I was surprised by the amount of gf options, being a Chicken & Waffle place. (My grits bowl with chicken was actually gluten free)
A cozy spot with a delicious, fluffy crust and quick service, perfect for a satisfying pizza experience.

I was thrilled to see Jets pizza offer a gluten free pizza that was the standard thin crust that others use so I decided to check it out. Like most pizza places it's a small pizza for the price of a regular pizza, but being gluten intolerant I know that it simply costs more to prepare gluten free dishes. I ordered online and when I arrived 20 mins later it was ready. The guy at the counter was friendly and even offered to remake my pizza because it didn't have enough cheese on part of it. In the current climate attitudes and services are often not as they should be, however, I had an amazing experience from start to finish. The gluten free crust was nice, thick, fluffy, and tasty. I would say more cheese would be the only thing that makes it even better! Thanks Jets pizza for finally making a worthwhile Gluten Free Pizza. ( No I was not paid for the review!).
