Lovely food! The staff is helpful (I have celiac and am vegan). I got the Susana and some yucca fries. They have regular OR vegan cilantro sauce and it’s all amazing! So happy we found this place! My partner got a chicken taco and wants to come back in our way out of town back home. Great food!

Went to Fat Head's for dinner and the GF Codfather didn’t disappoint, even threw in a gluten free Ghostfish Brewing Company beer. I can’t tell you the last time my wife had either of those out! She has celiac and is super sensitive and didn’t have any side effects, even today!!
Enjoy juicy burgers and incredible milkshakes, with a vibe that makes dining out feel special and stress-free for everyone.

I have celiac disease, and went here for dinner. The staff is well trained, and they offer a gluten free menu. They have a dedicated fryer for fries and have gluten free buns available. I highly recommend this place and it’s absolutely delicious!! I didn’t feel sick at all afterwards, which is such a relief when traveling.

My server Jake and Katie were the absolute BEST. Jake gave us his best wine and food pairings and made special accommodations for my gluten allergy! They were so personable and helpful they made my experience here one of the best experiences I’ve ever had at a restaurant. 12/10 WOULD recommend.

This place was great! It’s in a beautiful building, the staff were so nice, and the food was excellent. Found this on my gluten free app when looking for a safe option for breakfast and I’m glad we chose this place. I recommend making reservations online. Was happy to support this family owned operation.

If you're on a quest for a healthier lifestyle, Orange Avocado Juicery is your ultimate destination. Nestled in the heart of Squirrel Hill, this hidden gem is entirely vegan and gluten-free, offering a haven for clean eaters and anyone with dietary preferences that go beyond the norm.
From the moment you walk in, it's clear this place is more than just a juice shop. They offer a wide variety of cold-pressed bottled juices, made-to-order smoothies and bowls, and even guilt-free desserts. The best part? Everything is so incredibly delicious, you’d never guess it's all vegan and gluten-free.
I had the chance to sample a few things, and honestly – everything blew me away. Let’s start with the PB Blueberry Smoothie – a dreamy combo of bananas, blueberries, peanut butter, vanilla protein, and almond milk. No ice, just fresh ingredients blended into smooth, creamy perfection.
Then came dessert – the vegan peanut butter chocolate cheesecake. Absolutely insane. So rich and flavorful, you won’t miss the dairy one bit.
I also grabbed a couple of juices and a wellness shot to-go. The Immunity Shot (carrot, orange, lemon, ginger, turmeric, black pepper) was surprisingly tasty – the fruit flavors shine, and the black pepper is barely noticeable. As for the juices, I tried the Go Green (kale, cucumber, apple, lemon) and Bright Eyes (orange, carrot, ginger) – both were super fresh and vibrant.
They’ve also got cookies and grab-and-go options, perfect if you're in a rush but still want something nourishing.
Whether you're vegan, gluten-free, or just someone who enjoys clean, flavorful food, Orange Avocado Juicery hits the mark. It’s the kind of place where health-conscious meets flavor-forward – and you’ll leave feeling good in every way. Highly recommend!

The food was very good, as it always is. I don't eat from the buffet because I like the flavors of Indian food but I cannot have spicy (I have GI issues), so I order from the menu at a level 1 heat. They seemed offended that I wanted to order from the menu. I don't know why, it's definitely more expensive than the buffet. My son and his wife ordered the buffet.
I also brought wine because they have a very limited wine menu. When they first installed the bar years ago they would still let you bring your own wine for the corkage fee. That is no more and they seemed offended that I asked. I honestly didn't know their policy had changed. So, that was fine, I left my wine in the bag I ordered wine from their menu.
After my dinner came out I asked for some raita. That was met with what I would characterize as distain.
Finally, since it was my son's birthday and his wife has gluten sensitivities I had brought some french macarons and one small birthday candle so that we could quietly sing. His wife and I literally whisper sang because we were becoming increasingly aware that the staff were giving us the side eye. After that I asked for a check and some boxes for my leftovers (again, NOT FROM THE BUFFET) and they seemed taken aback. But I had ordered the lamb tikka masala, and a garlic nan, and a vegetable korma all from the menu. It was a lot of food and I wasn't about to throw it all away.
Food was still amazing but by the time I paid the check we felt very uncomfortable being there. My son said he felt like everyone was staring at us.
I have been going to this restaurant for decades and have never been made to feel uncomfortable until last night. It's a shame that the service has changed so might that we didn't feel welcome. And it's not like the place was packed. We went at 7:00 and there were several open tables throughout the seating area. Not sure what was going on that evening but I'll have to think twice about going back.
Also, they now provide Styrofoam for leftovers, not the foil containers they used to use. That is like a throw back in time. Fast food places don't even use Styrofoam any more. The service has certainly changed since the new ownership. For shame.
Start your day with a huge breakfast menu, generous portions, and top-notch service that'll keep you coming back for more.

First time here and I was pleasantly surprised. It's quite large with many tables. The place is old. Service was good and no nonsense. Food was better than I expected.
The fried zucchini were light, the pretzels weren't the best I've had but were ok. I got a gluten free pizza that maybe was frozen? I got excited about it and thought it was made with a kind of flour with no gluten but I don't think that's the case. Nonetheless the toppings were very good. The pasta D'Angelo was a bit plain but the gnocchi were very good.
Portions are large.
The Manhattan was ok although quite strong.
We went on a Saturday evening, with reservation, and it was probably at half capacity.
Parking is always available since the restaurant is in a plaza.
It's not a place where I'd have a romantic date but more of a family gathering.
Overall a solid,. reliable 3 stars.
Enjoy a vibrant atmosphere and inventive brunch options in this neighborhood gem, complete with a creative menu and tasty beverages.

Amazing as a gluten allergic person to be able to eat biscuits again. I don't know how many years it's been since I've had some. Obviously, with it being gluten-free, it is a little dry, but I still enjoyed it. I've heard the real biscuits are amazing. The hot chocolate did not disappoint, but the home fries did 🫤
Prepare for long lines and hungry customers that will cut in line like they don't have manners.

I love Luke Wholey's! The food is excellent, the staff is always friendly! This has become my family's "go-to" place for celebrations! If you go, you have to try the "Captain Crunch Roll", it is fabulous! We have someone in our group who has to eat gluten-free and Luke Wholey's has several options on their menu for her!
Tons of gluten free options (including the best gf bread in Pittsburgh), really tasty food, and the staff leaves me the cutest drawings on my orders. It's pricey but sometimes i need a treat haha.

I’ll preface by saying I have a severe gluten intolerance, and the staff was extremely knowledgeable and accommodating. They cleaned all the equipment and changed their gloves before making my order, which put my mind at ease.
I ordered the savory classic crepe with buckwheat, I believe someone else posted a photo of it already. Wow, it tastes amazing and fills you up but not in a bad way. The fresh salad is a breakfast addition as well. The coffee, lattes and cappuccinos are also very well made.
The atmosphere is very relaxing, nice decor, and the shop is well kept and clean. Definitely give Mel’s a try when you’re in the Burgh!

Great food great service great atmosphere! If you’re looking for a delicious place to eat in Pittsburgh this is the place for you! Would recommend the Classic ( Eggs in your preferred style, choice of protein, and four pieces of toast on your preferred bread ) it was delicious! Pretty gluten friendly they offered a substitute of a fruit bowl instead of bread ( good job on that )!!! Was a little bit of a wait but for a busy Saturday morning wasn’t actually that long and TOTALLY worth it. The Women’s bathroom was nice if you are the kind of person who cares about that kind of stuff! Really cheap too, it came out to $50 for three people! The Rueben All My Life was great! So was the I Am Kazaam! Overall this restaurant was super great and I would come back here again if we happened to be in the neighborhood!
Fun fact: The Speckled Egg is in the same building as Fred Roger’s Productions!

Just stopped up for a quick bite to eat. Service was good. For some reason all of our cups leaked but no biggie. The girl at the counter gave us new ones. My wife had ordered a cheeseburger with a side of mayo and with a gluten allergy so in a bowl. When we got it it had BBQ sauce on it. The guys behind the counter were great. Hooked us up with a new one in no time and extremely nice about all of it. Props to those employees up there tonight. Thanks guys.

This restaurant is a treasure! Located in the burgeoning and diverse Pittsburgh neighborhood of Garfield, the buffet, from 1130am to 230pm M-S, is not to be missed. People’s is a small venue with no waiting area and today we arrived at 145pm to find every table filled. The wait was worth every minute! There are both vegan and meat-based options, mostly gluten free. The bread was incredible and nothing was too spicy, just delicious and perfectly seasoned. Dessert and coffee is included and large bottles of water are provided on each table. The tables are very close together but both customers and staff are friendly and polite. Every visit to Pittsburgh will now include People’s!

Great modern, healthy, restaurant. I loved all the gluten free options and enjoyed the Greek warm bowl with salmon. I also had the kale and apple smoothie, it tasted like it sounds. There wasn’t a lot of sugar or additives to hide the flavor. I still enjoyed the smoothie but it’s not for everyone, it definitely grossed out my husband and toddlers. This may cost a bit more than some similar restaurants but I think it’s worth it for good quality, well made, Whole Foods- which they did an excellent job of providing.

They either have gluten free buns and it's not selectable in the app as an option, or it's selectable as an option and they don't have it in store lol. Very little meat on their sandwiches and the location is filthy. Worst location in the franchise, avoid.
