I ordered delivery. The gluten-free detroit style pizza was off the charts delicious! I've been diagnosed celiac for 20 years. So trying to find pizza out in the world is always hard. But I was desperate for comfort food after a long week of classes and far from my own kitchen. I knew I was flying home the following day, so I figured what the heck. I'm so glad I did. The dough was like biting into a cloud of deliciousness, topped with a simple yet bright red sauce. The mozzarella and provolone mix was well balanced as well. First time in ages I've had pepperoni too crispy and not super greasy. I added spinach and mushrooms to round it out. My first bite was heaven. The texture, mouth feel and flavor was a master class in cooking. I felt like I was back in Italy picking up a Sicilian slice from the street vendor. The salad was a little heavy with meat and cheese but the lettuce was some of the best I've had as well. I ate it by the handful and it was Devine. I've been in the food business low end to high end for 30 years. These folks are worth the expense if you want a clean and bright mouth filled delight! Run don't walk to get their pizza!

Alright, pizza lovers, pause your scrolling—Boom’s Pizza in Lakewood is about to change your life (or at least your Friday night plans). This place is slinging pies so good, you’ll wonder why you ever settled for anything less. Oh, and here’s the kicker: they’ve got gluten-free crusts AND vegan options. Yeah, you heard that right—Boom’s is out here doing what the big names in this city ain’t.
The gluten-free crust? It’s not just passable—it’s actually good. Like, “I’m not crying, you’re crying” good. And their vegan toppings? Next-level. None of that sad, flavorless stuff here—Boom’s delivers top-notch taste no matter your dietary needs.
Whether you’re gluten-free, vegan, or just someone who knows the value of a damn good pizza, Boom’s has you covered. So skip the boring, cardboard-tasting stuff from the big guys. Go to Boom’s. Your taste buds will thank you, and your friends with food restrictions will finally stop glaring at you during pizza night. Win-win!
Had Donatos tonight after a very long day of cleaning our basement after a flood. Anyway we thought we'd try it because they have a gluten free option.
I ordered 2 pizzas and a 2 liter bottle of Pepsi.
The who process was weird I ordered online and when I checked out - 1 of my pizzas was removed so I had to place 2 orders. - because I was grubby from Cleaning, I opted for the drive thru pick up. So I go to the shop and out in the back parking lot we're 4 men standing - I don't know if I thought they were smoking, or if they actually were....I approached the window and a bell stayed ringing - then one of the guys comes up to my car and asked my name. I told him, he rang me out for order 1, by handing me a little credit card machine, then he went to get my pizza - at this point I put my credit card in and rang myself out - I found it odd that he was no where around and all of a sudden the cash drawer pops open - I mean if I were dishonest I could have reached my arm in and taken the cash drawer - this process happened with both my orders.
Then he hands me my pizza and a 20oz (not 2 liter) of Pepsi - since the Pepsi was $3.99 I reminded him that I paid for the 2 liter.
So now onto the pizza
1) the gluten free pizza was good, but the edges of the crust was burnt - I mean it was black and crispy.
2) the regular hand tossed pepperoni pizza hand only a handful of pepperoni, certainly NOT edge to edge, the sauce was so sweet and tasted like green peppers. And the middle of the pizza was raw / I ate 2 pieces and tossed the rest of the pizza.
The Pepsi was good!!!
There are so many pizza places in Lakewood - literally go anywhere else except Primoz and you will be better off.
I have slowly become a fan of HH over the last few years. It seemed I only had sheet pizza from here (which just is not the style I most enjoy) for the longest time. Once my daughter started asking for the gluten free option (in her opinion, it beats out most others around) we started trying more of HH's other pizza options and we're really enjoying them! The latest was the Howie Maui which we tried recently and were really surprised how good it was.
