Absolutely LOVE this place. So freaking grateful to have an amazing family run this restaurant. They have amazing gluten free AND organic options!! My favorite meal is absolutely the Garlic Chicken Plate with rice and beets. I also love adding their fresh tahini!! As an appetizer I go for the pickles, olives and baba ghanoush (the eggplant side). I love that they have kombuchas and organic wines 🙌 PLUS they have family meal options for those nights I don’t want to cook this is my SAVOR!!
Enjoy a lively fusion vibe where you can savor unique flavors and a variety of options suitable for diverse dietary needs!

Love Wasabi Juans! My husband loves Mexican and I love sushi, so it's a perfect combination. The staff here are great. I have celiac disease and they are very accommodating with the gluten free options and very mindful. Definitely a must to visit Wasabi Juans!
Expect a long wait but enjoy unique and tasty taco options, a vibrant atmosphere, and nearby bars to pass the time.

El barrio is one of Birminghams restaurants. You can expect to wait on friday and saturday evenings due to the high demand for delicious food at a reasonable price. The servers work harmoniously during busy times and have a streamlined process so that you have the best dining experience. They are gracious about accommodating dietary needs and restrictions which is so welcome due to the Birmingham food scene largely lacking that. The only things that could make them better is gluten free churros on the menu.
Try the queso!

Thankful that they offer dietary options, although the staff could be better trained. Was told I could have the Brussel sprouts (coated in soy sauce - "because it was soy based" - I have celiac disease). After spending $32 for 10" rectangular pizza (3 toppings) that was so-so, I'm not keen on returning.
Experience a fantastic vibe and deliciously creative dishes in a gorgeous setting that leaves you eager to return for more.

An amazing dining experience! Dinner with my friends while traveling for work. I had amazing oysters from PEI and the smoked fish dip is next level good. My friend got the pork belly appetizer and loved it. I am gluten intolerant and I had plenty of options and modifications were made available.
We all had fish, from Mahi to flounder and everyone was happy. Our server Jonathan was knowledgeable, helpful and attentive without being intrusive. The bar had good options and my French 75 was well balanced and tasty. Spendy, but worth the splurge. I highly recommend this place!
A spot with a diverse menu, known for its excellent burgers and a bit of a drive but totally worth it, just beware of the cold fries!

Great service, our large group was able to sit relatively quickly. Really good food. Burnin’ Love burger with the fried jalapeño medallions and Chipotle aioli is always a winner with me.
Everyone had different dietary restrictions, from no-sugar to gluten free to no dairy to no lots-of-things but everyone was able to eat something delicious.
Unique vibes and cozy atmosphere make this Avondale favorite a must-visit, despite a few bumps in service.

This is one of my favorite spots in B'ham. As someone who's gluten free, I love the wings and Buffalo cauliflower bites. Service could be better, but it's definitely not a deterrent. You can park across the street at Avondale Park. The atmosphere is laid back and enjoyable.
A perfect spot for celebration with unique dessert options and creatively crafted drinks, making every visit feel special and personal.

My husband and I came here to celebrate my birthday. We just came in for a good gluten free dessert and they had a couple of options. Jacob at the bar recommended the flourless chocolate cake. It was wonderful! Super moist and flavorful. I wasn’t planning on having a drink but Jacob recommended a chocolate martini and his version was the perfect twist on the original. I loved it! Service was great. Jacob was very personable and a great conversationalist. Can’t wait to come back for a full dinner! 😊
A spot with generous portions, top-notch service, and a unique Mac n Egg Roll that's a must-try.

The new gluten free bowtie noodles were great! I couldn't even tell that they were gluten free! Definitely will be getting more. Also you can substitute almost any pasta entree dish with the gluten free, so lots of good options for those who cannot eat gluten

Gluten friendly it is not. If you have celiac you won’t be able to eat here, period.
My family decided to eat here because usually Mexican restaurants are easy to navigate with a gluten intolerance. This was probably the most difficult restaurant I’ve ever visited, aside from maybe a bakery. The manager said they recently changed their roasted chicken and it now contains gluten, so there was not a single protein I could eat. That was a challenge I’ve never encountered. The queso had it. Even the ranch dip on the table contained gluten—which I ate prior to the manager letting me know— it never occurred to me ranch might have it. Again, something I’ve never seen before.
I will say the staff was extremely nice about it, which is why I didn’t take the review under 3 stars. They even comped my meal for the issues (the first dish they brought out clearly had ingredients the manager mentioned had gluten) and never charged me for the guacamole taco they had to replace it with, which was completely unnecessary but appreciated.
If they had just one protein option it would’ve been an completely different experience. I’ve never been to a sit down restaurant where I couldn’t even order a protein—-usually it’s the go to fallback. With it being such a common issue, I hope one day they can try to be just a little accommodating, especially given that it’s widely assumed a Mexican restaurant will have plenty of options.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND for a healthy and Gluten Free breakfast spot. Has much healthier and absolutely clean breakfast/brunch dishes and drinks to offer. I love First Watch spots, they’re definitely similar to the brunch restaurants in Downtown San Diego and Mission Beach, CA.

We are big fans of the food and service. So we asked them to serve 40 of us for a wedding rehearsal dinner in a delightful upstairs venue. We were able to get appetizers served buffet style and a great array of main courses served to each guest. The open bar, was staffed by Mason, who handles special events. He did a fantastic job in the planning and the pouring. As always, the great EastWest staff helped take wonderful care of all our friends and family. They satisfied our vegan, gluten-free and other needs. Highly recommend for a dinner or a gathering.

I visited the Hop City location, and was served the best GLUTEN FREE pizza I’ve ever had! When I say you couldn’t tell the bread was gluten free, I mean it had the same crunch, fluff and moisture as alternative breads. I can’t state how amazing this bread was, you’ll have to go try it your self.

We stopped here last night after a basketball game at BJCC. We took a chance that this would be a good place to eat. We were wrong.
It was GREAT !!!
The pulled pork was very moist and delicious. Not a shred of dryness at all and SO much flavor.
The cheese grits are to die for.
The greens were very very good. The fried green tomatoes were top notch.
Our table had 8 at it. Everyone got something different and everyone loved what they got.
Absolutely NO complaints.
The wait wasn’t long for the food. Everything was delicious and fresh. I’m from Tuscaloosa and will go up there to eat again just because it’s that good.
The service was very good.
If you’re going as a large crowd on a weekend night there isn’t much room for a large group. The dining area has booths and a few tables you can push together but those were taken when we got there.
They have a bar area with lots of stools.
It’s delicious!!! Go there!! They do not disappoint!!
Oh- I have celiac and got the grits and greens over grits and it didn’t make me ill at all. Gluten friendly!!
Great atmosphere for date night or an intimate meal with friends. Invited by another couple and thoroughly enjoyed the service and the meal. Blackened grouper with lemon butter wine sauce, capers, sun-dried tomatoes, and mushrooms. I nixed the pasta due to gluten sensitivity and added potatoes. If that doesn’t make your mouth water check your pulse. It was outstanding and not sure I will order anything else. Obviously, I will return! If you are are Belini fan it is a step above in terms of robust flavoring with herbs and spices. The service was good but not differentiating. If the server turned up the warm, welcoming, and friendly meter I would have rated a 5.
Unique options like a spicy grilled chicken sandwich and a flavorful kale salad make this spot a solid choice for a tasty meal.

This place may have a limited menu and no beer on Tap for gluten free but they took good care of me anyway.
To the girl and guy who I met eating there burgers and fries the suggestions were spot on delicious. Thanks for the heads up you rock.
I got the kale Salad that had kale, cabbage, peanuts and some sprinkled cheese on top. It was very good and a healthy option.
Next, I tried the grilled chicken sandwich without the bun. As you can see from the pics it looks delicious and was spot on. The sauce had a kick to it too.
What I recommend this restaurant yes. Do they need more options like gluten-free buns or a dedicated frier for fries yes. If you are highly allergic/ celiac with epi pen not a good choice.
They staff were super friendly and cool about making sure my food came out with no problems.

We have never been to this place and actually never heard of it. Saw it because I was there to visit another business. I am so glad we stumbled upon this gem of a restaurant. They are a heavy brunch geared eatery, and I love brunch. So many choices of items and the place was alive and vibrant. Our waitress ( I didn't recall her name) was amazing and on top of every need we had. We came in with a 4 top 3 adults and a kid and got out of there for less than 70$. To me that is a great deal considering the portion sizes and just the general ambiance of the place. We definitely recommend going and checking this place out, if not making it your full time brunch spot. I was also surprised at the vegan and gluten free options! You are missing out not trying at least once!!!

Full Moon is one of our go to BAR-B-QUE restaurants to get a good meal at. The riblets are great. And the pork plates are good to. But, the chow chow is what sets Full Moon apart from every other bar-b-que joint around. And, they have plenty of sides that are gluten-free. Cole slaw, potato salad, and the pork, and chicken bakers are huge. Be careful about cross contaminated . I have celiac disease and I haven't had a problem so far.
In love with store’s variety of options, including gluten free, and the quality of their baked goods. However, prices on bill at checkout don’t always match prices marked on product. 😢

Current was a culinary experience second to none in Birmingham. Food quality drives whether or not I will eat at a restaurant, and Current did not disappoint. In addition, the chef exhibited a deep understanding of diverse flavors while being understated. The techniques used by the chef, the flavors and the menu options are 100% ahead of trends. Current just topped my Birmingham list. (There are also plenty of gluten free options, hard to find, and of course lots of vegetarian choices.)
Super difficult to get a table during weekend brunch hours, but completely worth the attempt — try going really early or late to avoid the crowds, and only with a group of 2-3 people. The food is unbelievable! We shared a homemade croissant to start (amazing), as they ran out of homemade pop tarts during Sunday brunch). Highly recommend getting a pastry as they’re known for them (and rightfully so!).
For entrees we tried the breakfast sandwich, the steak & eggs, and the Essential Hash — and we all loved what we ordered! Highly recommend the hash if you need something super filling but still gluten free/ relatively healthy. The steak with the steak & eggs special was perfectly cooked and comes with delicious homemade salsa verde on it.
Super nice service and vibe (perfectly curated decor with a trendy vintage feel), and if you put your name down and have a wait, you can walk around to nearby shops downtown.
With quick service and a delicious grilled chicken meal, this spot is a must-try for anyone visiting Birmingham.

The grilled chicken meal I had there was 10/10. Loved it. I have a gluten allergy and I originally ordered a sandwich, thinking it would be on GF bread since it gave me the option to check off my allergy. Unfortunately, they do not have GF bread. When I arrived they immediately addressed it and said they weren’t sure so they went ahead and made it. Because it is an allergy for me, I did agree to let them make me something else. I chose the grilled chicken with honey mustard, along with the corn cake and slaw. They made it incredibly fast. I was a little disappointed not to have gotten the sandwich at first, but the meal I ended up getting was absolutely delicious! I come to Birmingham pretty often so I will return.

You can purchase a 14” specialty or custom pizza, or pizza by the slice. They’ve also got a 14” gluten free and 12” cauliflower crust option available for whole pizzas for an extra charge. They have indoor seating at tables or at the bar and an outdoor patio which is dog friendly. Lots of high chairs for the kiddos but no booster seats. Food came out fast and was really good. Very nice area and pleasant atmosphere. I bet the lights on the patio look really nice when it’s dark out. Patio could use more shade for the tables during the hot summer days, perhaps they could add some screens or umbrellas? The bartender wearing crocks (Brandon maybe?) was very courteous and helpful. Would definitely eat here again.
China Bistro is one of our absolute favorites! Not only do they have great, reliable Chinese food that’s always prepared quickly, but they even have an extensive gluten free menu. Gluten free Chinese food is hard to come by so it’s always great to find good-tasting gluten free Mongolian beef and chicken fried rice! The menu is marked for what can be made gluten free for those with celiac, just make sure to mentioned you want the “gluten free” version.

Just wondering how many grams of sugar and calories are in one of the regular cinnamon rolls . Just got some and that's really the only added thing I'd like to see on the menu with it . And if it's soy free , gluten free . Stuff like that because of allergies as well . I know for sure that was not any of that but anyways . It was still a good cinnamon roll . The middle was a little too much though because it seemed raw but I know it's not . It's just because of everything added to it ! I'm telling you those are some heavy cinnamon rolls now though

I'm no longer vegan thanks to this place. It will ruin your gluten-free, dairy-free, whatever diet you're on and you won't even care. Take my money and leave me alone to play centipede and gorge on (what is easily) Birmingham best pizza.
Repeated my order 3x as he nodded continuously like he heard me the first time but kept getting it wrong. I still got the wrong thing. Asked for crunchy tacos, pork and queso cheese with side of rice. The only thing I got right was the rice and pork. No cheese and had to take meat off the soft shells after I went up and got my cheese. I wouldn't have cared but I can't eat wheat flour. Have to try to eat gluten free due to celiac. It also wasn't good. I could have went to taco Bell and it would have been better. My granddaughters order was all messed up too. We're sweet girls and I don't like leaving a bad review but it is what it is...he also rolled his eyes as I was trying to make sure he'd gotten it right. We spent 30 bucks and left hungry.
