Unique fully gluten free Asian street food restaurant. We always know that it is safe to go to an Asian box. Very small seating area inside, but plenty of seating.
Charming spot with a beautiful atmosphere, offering a decent menu and unique dining experience, perfect for casual meals with a relaxed vibe.

I did love it. Everything was so charming. I loved our waitress. Beautiful atmosphere with heated lamps and pretty lights. Very good gluten-free pasta. Even crayons and paper with activities for the kids. I would have liked more gluten-free variety but what we did order was fine, and even filled me up without meat. (I would've liked meat hahaha). The waitress was very patient, kind, knowledgeable, and helpful.
Charming spot with a cozy vibe, local flavors, and unique decor makes it a must-visit for anyone looking to enjoy a lively atmosphere.

Favorite place in the South Bay: they source local, seasonal, and sustainable ingredients and are offering very inclusive options for those who are plant based and gluten free. The taste of the curry that I had was amazing, flavorful, and creamy, the rice was cooked to perfection. Sitting outside next to the heaters is sweet, just wasn’t a fan of the loud music but all else is 5 stars! Oh and another highlight is that they just use a I ado and olive oil, no unhealthy seed oils.
A solid choice for breakfast or lunch. Their breakfast dishes are good, but I recommend trying their arepas and chais (there are a few different options). GF-friendly, for folks who are gluten sensitive.
A modern twist on Vietnamese cuisine shines here, featuring a diverse custom menu and accommodating options for various preferences.

Tamarine Restaurant & Gallery
📍 546 University Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94301
Originally, I just wanted to eat Vietnamese food to cool down because the temperature was rising. But when I entered the restaurant, I found out that it was #Michelin recommended!
The appetizer is a four-course platter
Tamarine Taste (serves two)
Shrimp and Pork Spring Rolls, Tea Leaf Beef, Taro Root Rolls, and Papaya Salad. Serves two.
Shrimp & Pork Spring Rolls
Fresh rice paper rolls filled with shrimp, sous vide pork, bean sprouts lettuce mix, and mint with a hoisin sauce.
It contains mint and fish sauce.
Taro Root Rolls
Vegetarian. Crisp rolls filled with taro root, carrots, mushrooms and glass noodles, served with plum chili sauce. (Cannot be made gluten-free)
Vietnamese fried spring rolls
Tea Leaf Beef
Gluten-free. Ground beef, onion, garlic and tamari wrapped in a wild tea leaf, grilled and served with chili fish sauce.
Less commonly seen tea rolls
Papaya Salad is paired with something similar to beef jerky, which is a bit salty and hard to understand😣
Tiger Prawns & Garlic Noodles $39
Grilled tiger prawns wok-tossed with egg noodles, Parmesan cheese, oyster sauce, Fresno chile-garlic, & Vietnamese cilantro.
The popular garlic noodles, the prawns have been peeled for us to make it easier to eat.
Clay Pot Cod $31
Gluten-free. Alaskan black cod caramelized in onion, garlic, black pepper and molasses.
Ah Jun loves cod cooking, but it is rare to see this kind of cooking in the United States. Most of them are Japanese miso fish.
Service 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
When I made the reservation, I accidentally chose to celebrate my birthday, so I got a sorbet as a gift. The berry and coconut ones are very rich🥥
A high-quality restaurant that I would like to visit again. I haven’t found it before working in #paloalto for almost half a year🤨

Really, really good food. Best chicken satay I've ever had. Everything on the menu looked good and I'll be back to try other stuff. Full bar including some cool house cocktails. I didn't try one, but my companions drinks were good. They also were very accommodating for gluten free and vegetarian options. I'll be back. Great outdoor patio and staff was super friendly and helpful.
Experience organized chaos from a high top bar with creative drinks and a lively atmosphere, even if the view isn’t the greatest.

We had an amazing dinner at this unique restaurant. No reservations were available, but we got seated right away at the bar, which ended up looking directly at the kitchen on a high top bar. It was really neat to watch their organized chaos. Super busy cranking out the orders.
Lots of gluten free options, including tapas, and several things could be modified for GF. Interesting mixed drinks.
So glad we tried it. Highly recommend.
Savor a feast of flavors with standout dishes like whole fish in sweet and sour sauce and unique mini rice ball soup that keep everyone raving!

Me and my friends are loving Chef Zhao a lot. We been there so many times cuz we live close by. Chef Zhao has traditional Shanghai style food and some other American Chinese food. Our favorite item are water eel, fish gluten, special tofu and the must order Pan Fried Bun!! They also offer hand made noodles which are so delicious too.
I highly recommend go on lunch time since dinner they are very busy sometimes.
Today I went there at lunch, they are using a new order system and gift card. I bought a gift card, and if you buy over $250 it will be 10% off from purchase. Unlimited times. Which is so good! Also I found there is a moon cake available for the coming Chinese mid-autumn day.
Must Try Chef Zhao’s!
A charming spot perfect for a date, offering delightful wine flights and tasty appetizers in a cozy atmosphere.

Went here for the first time on a date 😘 I was excited to try the wine flights. Our server, I believe her name was Madison, was very attentive and positive. We only had appetizers, but they were delicious! Enough gluten-free, soy free options to satisfy me 💕
My boyfriend and I went here to celebrate Valentine’s Day and we were both very impressed. They have a beautiful selection of Italian wines and all of their flour and cheese is imported from Italy which was a nice surprise since I’m sensitive to gluten but Italian flour does not effect me. We had the Linguini and had to try a pizza to see if it measured up to true Italian pizza. It did. Can’t wait to go back and eventually try everything on the menu!

Tucked in Palo Alto's heart, this small gem shines with a menu as diverse as the tech scene itself. From inventive breakfast options to tantalizing dinner choices, culinary creativity knows no bounds here. The intimate ambiance amplifies the delight of every bite. With an array of options, including vegetarian and gluten-free, there's something for every palate. And let's talk location: nestled among the vibrant streets, it's a culinary oasis for both locals and visitors. Whether you're fueling up for a day of innovation or savoring a relaxed evening, this restaurant's multifaceted menu and perfect Palo Alto spot make it a must-try.
what a gem! a lot of attention to detail from the food, plating, service and dining ware. gluten free options marked on menu. dairy free options available.
Such great food the soup filled bread with meat is amazing also the Puri is incredible they have several vegetarian and gluten-free options ordering from ez cater is not a problem however they require you to have a minimum of 150 dollars
So lovely!! The portions are large! And the owner is so attentive and kind. They are super accommodating too. Nick, the owner made the avocado toast gluten free for me. GF toasts are usually smaller, so instead of just one toast, he put the toppings on two pieces of toasts (which is equivalent to the size of a normal toast…which is LARGE). Like I said, the portions are generous. Highly recommend!!!! Will def be back.

Outstanding sandwiches, outstanding customer service! Our diet-and-age-diverse group ordered a pastrami, a veggie on gluten-free bread, and a kids custom turkey and cheese. Everything was fresh and packed with flavor. The owner (sorry I didn't get your name!) was also super friendly, delivered our food the patio and stayed around to chat, brought us bonus chipotle pesto, and checked back in partway through the meal. One of the best sandwiches I've had in the area, long-standing local establishment, reasonable prices. We will definitely be back!
Milkshakes. You really don't need to get anything else. I love the chocolate milkshake with added banana or the coffee-flavored one. They are mostly gluten-free, I think. Oh the strawberry one is excellent, too.
You can buy little bags of tokens as a gift for friends that are fans of the milkshakes. I wish I was still running so that I could have one every week.
With a vibrant atmosphere and standout dishes like polenta cakes and hearty masala, this spot is a must-visit for flavorful plant-based eats.

I cannot get the polenta cakes and the neatballs masala out of my head... Wow!!! So delicious!
Many items were or could be made gluten free, clearly marked on the menu as well. Highly recommend!
Excellent food. Their lentil soup is to die for. Good falafel (though not gluten free), great salad with tahini and hummus. And the owner and staff are amazingly warm and friendly. Love.
