My chicken chiabatta sandwich was a bit dry and the food selection was limited, but they did have substantial gluten free options. The setting and staff were very nice, making it an overall excellent experience.
Expect a lively atmosphere with charming decor, attentive service, and a menu that pleases diverse palates, but be ready for occasional delays.

Cooper’s Hawk is one of my favorite restaurants in town to visit. With multiple food allergies it is refreshing to be able to eat somewhere safely. Their gluten free menu offers a wide variety of options. This visit I had the GF chopped chicken salad w/o almonds, and it was amazing. Our server Sunday was very attentive and respectful. He did a nice job of allowing my friend and I time to chat and catch up w/o interrupting but also provided fantastic service. I will visit again!
A bright, airy spot with a chill vibe, perfect for studying, great coffee, and a strong focus on supporting local artists and the community.

Kindred is a casual café with delicious breakfast, brunch or lunch 100% gluten free.
As celiac, it is rare to have the possibility to choose anything from the menu without cross-contamination. This is the only place in Iowa city with a 100% GF kitchen.
Additionally, I loved the vibe of the place: young and casual.
An upstairs vibe with tabletop shuffleboard, this spot serves up tasty food quickly, making it a fun hangout for a casual meal.

Burger shed had a separate Gluten-free menu. We all ordered from that menu as one in our family is Celiac. Food was great, gluten free buns were nice and was not charged extra for gf. It would be nice if they had a dedicated fryer for french fries, though. Celiac kids want fries too.
Bright, cozy spot near downtown with a fresh, delicious menu and local art that’s definitely worth the wait on busy mornings.

Great atmosphere and service. However, would not recommend to those with celiac disease despite the gluten free menu options. Clearly was either cooked with gluten containing items and heavy cross contact, or my 5 year old with celiac disease was served gluten pancakes despite confirming and re-confirming.
Experience a unique sandwich spot with a dedicated gluten-free area and careful prep, delivering a delightful twist on a classic favorite!

I placed a pickup order at 5:16pm and app said order would be ready at 5:30pm. Arrived at 5:45pm and it took until 5:50pm to get assistance. Teenager at register stated it would take 10 minutes. He then confirmed with cook that 10 minutes was accurate. Cook looked at ticket and said with 2 gluten free sandwiches it would be a while. Grill started to be cleaned at 6:05 pm and order was started at 6:10 pm. Let me point out that while standing there waiting I watched the counter fill up with other pick up orders and people walk in put in their order and receive it while I was there. Someone obviously made a conscious decision not to fill my order in a timely manner because of the gluten free sandwiches. Jasmine attempted to give me a cookie and I refused because of allergies at 6:20pm. At 6:23pm more than an hour after my order was placed I received my order finally. My specific instructions in my order were to write names on the sandwich package and to bag the gluten free separately. Neither instruction was followed. Jasmine gave me 2 coupons for 3 sandwiches and I told her i should receive 3 because our order was due at 5:30pm. She said no and that we could leave and didn't need to return to the store. Not once did she apologize or provide an explanation. I was not happy and yelled going out the door thanks for not saying I'm sorry. I would have been happy with the 2 coupons and an apology. Jasmine lacks the skills to be a manager if she can't apologize to a customer for a decision she probably made. I feel that Jasmine was discriminatory in her actions because of the food allergies and her overall actions. Jersey Mike's as a company has practices in place to accommodate customers with food allergies but this employee seems to have decided to not provide your typical great service becsuse of it.
A spot that nails quick and tasty sandwiches with a special Mike's Way" touch, ensuring every bite feels like a trip back home.

Ordered online and picked up in-store. The process was simple and the sandwiches were perfect! It was exactly what I wanted. Something quick and delicious! I love that they make their sandwiches "Mike's Way" which is served with onions, lettuce, tomatoes, an olive oil blend, red wine vinegar and spices. I feel like this combination elevates every sub. If I can't order from a Jersey Mike's, I still ask for these additions--no matter what sandwich I get. I'm not a big sandwich consumer but when I feel like it, I come here. The bread is awesome (they even have gluten-free), the meats and cheeses taste like they're actually premium cuts, the veggies are cut properly, and there's not too much or too little sauce. Everything is just right!
Great spot for tasty subs with a unique soft gluten-free bread option that impresses even picky eaters!

The sandwiches are always delicious! I'm impressed with the gluten-free bread. Most GF bread is too "spongey", doesn't taste right or is too salty. Jersey Mike's GF bread is soft and tasty.
Experience top-notch care with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring a worry-free environment for special dietary needs.

I can not have gluten and eating out can be a nightmare because of cross contamination. When I went in and asked for the gf bread they made sure everything they used was completely wiped down, changed their gloves, and put the bread on paper to make sure no cross contamination could happen. Definitely going back!!
Delicious food. The staff there are amazing and treat you with so much respect. They also have markers to tell you if something is gluten free or if it is vegetarian, so it really helps out people with specific diets.

There steak and cheese is good. There just alittle pricy. $20 for a giant sub and that's not including a drink or chips. Gluten free bread is 3.50 to 4.50 extra depending on size you get. Not enough space inside to really sit down if there busy. You will have people right next to ur table if they are .

Everytime we have visited, my daughter has celiac and has to do a gluten free sub. They are always professional and sanitize before they make her sub. Thank you, so much.

Went in at evening rush yesterday to order some grilled nuggets. As someone with Celiac, it always makes me a little anxious to go at peak hours due to risk of cross contamination. Manny quickly put me at ease! His fabulous service and personality made my whole day. Thank you, Manny!!
He took the time to quickly check and get answers to a few weird questions I had. He didn’t make me feel bad or like a burden to ask and took time out of his busy day to make sure I got the answers I needed!
The whole team was fabulous as always, Manny just deserves an extra brag!!
With delicious soups, a variety of options for dietary needs, and a handy app for discounts, it's a go-to spot for many!

This place does an excellent job with the gluten free options (I’m Celiac and never have issues with Jersey Mikes in general). However the last time I ate there the GF bread used was definitely stale and dry. Very disappointing.
Overall they are polite and not too pissy when you ask them to change gloves.

You walk in and order at the counter. Waitress was very nice. I had questions about gluten free and she gave a gf options menu. Food came out as ordered and quickly. The beef brisket sandwich , and coleslaw were good (gf bun was an awesome surprise). I loved the self serve bbq sauce counter, and drinks are self serve. Everything was clean and very kid friendly atmosphere . Thank you :)

I Went to Jersey Mike’s for the first time today for a quick lunch. The staff were very polite and helpful. I’m gluten free, and they were very accommodating. They didn’t act put out or annoyed when I mentioned it like some other places do. I’ll definitely go back.

Serenity was very friendly and helpful. The food was fresh. We came because Culver's dining room was closed, and I'm glad it was. The gluten-free bun was better, and my BBQ bacon burger was delicious.

I am celiac highly symptomatic. I go to eat here frequently. They have a GF menu with many options. The staff and the kitchen are aware of contaminations. Food is amazing: you can have burgers, steak, oysters, breakfast sandwich and a great mimosa!

I really enjoy this patio that is dog-friendly. The atmosphere is great, and they have a variety of vegan, gluten-free, and vegetarian options. The margarita is particularly impressive.
Find yourself relaxed in a spotless setting; many pop in for a quick pick-up while those who stay are met with constant cheer.

They did a great job. My wife has celiac and their GF bread tasted great and their attention to cleaning preparation because of it was exceptional. She had no cross contamination reaction.
So appreciate that they have gluten free bread and that nearly anything on their menu can be made gf. Fast service, great variety in menu. Good as an easy lunch option.
Consistent quality and a complimentary pickle make this spot a go-to, though better communication on orders would elevate the experience.

I have to have gluten free bread which one reason I love this place, I order 3-4 times a week there, when they don’t have the bread they don’t call they just put it in a bowl which is fine BUT I pay an extra $2 for that bread, and I don’t get refunded that. That is my biggest complaint.
The food is always great. I just wish they were better at refunding or at least trying to make it right.
Also the free pickle is great when they don’t forget it.

We've been to other Jersey Mike's and they're all great food and pretty good service. That being said, this particular restaurant shined tonight. My daughter cannot have gluten and while Jersey Mike's is generally good with gf protocols, I have experienced some attitude and a lack of care while preparing the gf bowl. However tonight the manager was amazing as were her employees! They were so very careful with my daughter's food prep. The manager was great about guiding the employees through the process and the employees all had great attitudes about it. I truly appreciated the effort they put into safely making my daughter's food tonight and their friendly & positive attitudes! I recommend this Jersey Mike's!
With perfect dishes and a welcoming vibe, this spot promises a delightful experience that'll leave you smiling.

I'm not going to dock stars because they didn't have gluten free bread. The workers were extremely courteous and they had genuine smiles on their faces. My food was made to perfection. Definitely worth a stop!
