Great experience at Pizzeria Uno. Medium deep dish easily feeds 2 people. Numero Uno pizza was delicious. All the toppings were cooked perfectly and were so fresh. We ordered bbq chicken pizza with gluten free crust and the gluten free crust is thinner than the regular deep dish.

First issue was the lack of understanding of celiac. I get that my fiancée having a disease is our limitation but this restaurant was supposed to be good about it. We explained about how even cross contamination makes her sick and the 2nd thing we ordered was brought out and when we asked if it was fried (Brussel Sprouts) they said yes and we asked if it was a shared fryer and they said yes. So she couldn’t eat it. (When we already explained that she would get sick from cross contamination, this was a major oversight by the waiter). They also had very small portions of the pasta dishes and the prices were way higher than they should be given the quality of food being just okay. Really disappointed overall.

Some favorite dishes are the charcuterie board (the lavender honey!), brussel sprouts, cauliflower, scallops, shrimp + grits, chicken thigh... honestly we've liked everything! My husband and I ate dinner here on a Sunday and had a pretty good experience. I have gluten and dairy food allergies so I wanted to make sure I could get gluten free rolls and I was able to. The hostess was clueless and couldn’t even tell us if there were gluten free options, nor could she bother to put in the effort to hand my husband a menu when he asked. I wonder how many people with gluten allergies have not stopped here because of her since she was working during both our treks through the airport. Other than her terrible attitude, the waitress was very sweet and attentive and reassured us that the rolls could be made gluten free and the chefs were good about gluten allergies. She did mention that any of the rolls could be made gluten free and I believe the bowls can be gluten free also. We ordered 3 rolls to share (2 gluten free) and I had no issues at all. The portion size was large and the rolls were good- much better than supermarket sushi as other reviews have commented. They even had tamari. There wasn’t a lot of noise from people walking by and the chairs were pretty comfortable as well. If we have another layover at O’Hare while traveling, we will definitely be stopping again!

The location of the restaurant is in a prime spot within the Downtown Chicago area that affords them the opportunity to provide you with fantastic seating options that look out over the city.
The menu is very elaborate with several options in spirits, proteins, dining options, and varying entrees.
They do have the ability to accommodate a food allergy, including a gluten allergy, but with full disclosure, I did have a slight reaction to something I consumed while dining with Ocean Prime.
The staff was made aware of my exposure and was sincerely apologetic for my discomfort.

Unfortunately, I dislike my experience. I had the Nonna Gravy. Honestly, I thought the dish lack soul. The sauce felt rush and the meat could have been more tender. I literally had a stomach ache. Living with major gluten issues, is difficult-especially when I go out to eat. I called ahead of time to ask about their GF options. I told them I was interested in a salad dish. They called the chef, got ingredients, and I called them back. They told me specifically the ingredients of the dressing and it was completely GF. I had such a great experience dining at Sal’s with celiac disease! They have a marked gluten free menu and they cook the pasta in a dedicated area in the kitchen with fresh water. The GF pasta option is penne! The staff was knowledgeable about celiac disease and the food options were plentiful and delicious. They also modified a cocktail to make it non alcoholic! The Burrata, carbonara, and vanilla ice cream were amazing!
