We had an incredible experience with Sydney as our server and recently also had Marni - both were amazing. Fern who seems to be the manager here was so accommodating with our gluten and dairy restrictions, and even gave us a table outside after we decided to try sitting inside, where it ended up being a little too loud. I read the reviews prior to going in tonight and the reviews almost deterred me from going in.
I have nostalgia coming to Filippis as a kid playing on various sports teams. For some reason the sports awards would always take place at Flippis and the team would enjoy a large shared meal. Their pizza sauce always stood out to me.
Fast forward to my adult years, there’s so many pizza places, especially in Pacific Beach that I had written off Filippis as a thing of the past.
Was I wrong. I was solo parenting tonight and took my two toddles here for dinner.
They immediately gave my girls pizza dough to play with. This kept them busy until the food came out. The girls loved their pizza and I ordered their gluten free pizza. Honestly, it was the best gluten free crust and pizza I ever had. Their pizza sauce was just how I remembered it. Their cheese blanked over the toppings. It was delightful. It was filling and it didnt feel gluttonous.
The server at the end gave my girls complimentary ice cream with a small side note to me asking for permission.
The server was kind and patient with my girls. I’ve lived in PB the past 10 years and this should have been my go-to all along.

From the outside looking in it looked very elegant and nice but once inside it's a mass of chatter and some tables even yelling to just have a simple conversation. It's an open atrium, so naturally that allows flying critters to accompany your meal. You could not have a nice quiet dinner. The menu has limited gluten free options but some are available but as with any place the possibility of cross contamination is always a possibility. Our server was very polite and knowledgeable with the menu options. Food was slow to come out but tasted very good.

First time trying Sauced after reading many fantastic reviews and we enjoyed it. We had it delivered, it took around an hour to receive it. We ordered the antipasto salad, bacon and onion pizza, and gluten free pepperoni pizza. The gluten free one was good compared to other gf pizzas. The salad was ok - fresh ingredients, but the Italian dressing tasted like store bought Kraft - nothing wrong with that but I just personally don’t like it. Would definitely order from Sauced again!

This place has been my go to as a celiac friendly establishment for the past few months, as I’ve eaten here without problems so many times, until today. There was some confusion with our waitress and I ended up getting glutened :( so very sad as my GF options are already so limited. I’m so sad that I can never go back. I’m not sure what happened in the kitchen that lead to this big mistake but I’m having an allergic reaction and paying the price of whatever negligence took place with my food today. Should know better by now, I just can’t eat out anymore with celiac.
