Well, 1st, we informed the waitresswe would be gluten free, due to celiac allergy.
Next, I wish we'd taken photos of our meal to showcase some nice touches and some so so touches.
Drinks were fun and creative.
The caprese salad small a size.
Fried green tomatoes, nice.
The ceaser salad with grilled salmon spot on.
The braised pork and polenta, nice flavors.
The gluten free wild mushroom Alfredo was more the serving size for an appetizer.
Flour less chocolate cake, scrumptious.
Kinda a mixed bag for some items.
3 stars
Charming spot by the river boasting a delightful variety of ice cream with cozy seating and a picturesque vibe.

Nice ice cream shop right by the river with a good variety of flavors and great service by Maya. Great portions and hit the spot after a morning hiking at Camden State Park. Tried the Mt Battie Cherry and Wild Blueberry flavors = 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾! Although I didn't try them appreciated the milk based alternatives and gluten free options.
Enjoy stunning views of Megunticook Falls and Camden Harbor from a fantastic rooftop patio while indulging in a variety of fresh options!

I am so disappointed in the treatment of locals from this place. I went in the morning before my shift at a restaurant two doors down the street. I asked for just one scrambled egg because I am gluten intolerant, and was met with a nasty attitude and a horrifying price of $9 plus tax for One. Singular. Egg. As someone in the local food service industry who has known the owner for a long time, I am disgusted with the lack of concern for not only my food sensitivities but the fact that getting a side singular egg costs more than I what I would pay for TWO ENTIRE CARTONS of eggs. Treat locals better! Lost my business permanently. If the employees are coming down the street to our restaurant to eat during their lunch breaks, there is something wrong!!!!!
A cozy spot with a vibrant atmosphere, fantastic coffee, and local art that makes it a must-visit in mid-coast Maine.

Zoot Coffee in Camden, Maine is a charming little gem that perfectly blends cozy small-town warmth with subtle touches of global culture. The interior is thoughtfully designed inviting and relaxed, with eclectic details that hint at a love for travel and distant places. It’s the kind of spot where you can easily settle in for a quiet moment with a book or get some focused work done.
The ambiance is calm and welcoming, and the staff add to the laid-back, friendly vibe. Their gluten-free sweet treats are a nice inclusion, though the ones I tried were a bit on the dry side perhaps just past peak freshness. I had high hopes for the blackberry muffin, and while it lacked the moistness I was hoping for, it certainly didn’t take away from the overall experience.
Zoot is a lovely stop for anyone seeking a peaceful space with character, good coffee, and thoughtful details that make you feel like you’ve wandered into a well-traveled friend’s favorite hangout.
Enjoy a vibrant atmosphere with unique seating options, stunning views, and a cozy basement vibe, perfect for a memorable outing.

Poor service: I sat in this restaurant for 1hr 10 min and was never fed. Here's how: I ordered a burger and it came out with the wrong toppings, TWICE. Plus, both remakes took over 12 minutes to come to me. (12 minutes for the first, 14 minutes for the second, which is about the same amount of time that it took to deliver our food the first time.) Typically a remake is put at the front of the line, apparently not here. By the time remake #1 came, my husbands food was cold (he was trying to be kind and wait to eat with me). By the time remake #2 came, my husband had eaten his dinner (b/c it was getting really ridiculous to keep waiting.) I opted to take remake #2 to go, as I didn't want to sit there any longer, queue major frustration. We were a two top. A four top next to us sat after us, ordered after us, got their food, ate, paid their bill, and left, all before I was correctly given the food that I ordered.
Pros: Beautiful back deck overlooking the water, and gluten free beer option.
They comped both of our meals b/c we asked them to.
John, the owner, is great. This place is a gem and their gluten free pizza is way better than most. Their regular pizza is spot on too!
Definitely worth the visit!!
Enjoy stunning views and a delightful atmosphere, perfect for a relaxed meal with friends, though service might vary with larger groups.

A nice place to eat that has some great views. The staff seemed to struggle on table service but the food was good and everyone working there was delightful. Would give it a second try with a smaller group. There were gluten free options, just not obvious on the menu.
The vibe swings from relaxed to raucous, with excellent drinks and standout offerings that always keep things interesting.

Atmosphere is hit or miss. Sometimes perfectly chill...sometimes a drunken mass fest. The food is outstanding. The specialty drinks as well are top notch. Always safe to eat Gluten Free here for the most sensitive.
We enjoyed our stay at the Hartstone Inn, so much in fact, that we will have a hard time staying at other bed and breakfasts! The staff was so friendly, the room was comfortable, and the food was AMAZING. I am gluten free, so I expected boring, bland food. Instead, I had the most delicious meals that were completely gluten-free. We loved our time in Camden, and especially our time at The Hartstone Inn.
Be sure to stop here on your way through Camden for a burger, lobster roll, or other sandwich and fries. Nothing but a shack in a parking lot, but the food is amazing AND at great prices! They even have GLUTEN FREE rolls!. I'm pretty sure this is where the locals go for a quick bite. It really is a gem.
Expect a unique fine dining experience with beautifully presented dishes and an interesting, if limited, menu in a welcoming atmosphere.

Service was impeccable, we didn’t love every dish, but the menu was interesting albeit limited, and the presentation was beautiful. Not overly pretentious and very accommodating for my gluten allergy. If you like fine dining - it’s a must-try in Camden.
A cool place with good food and a fun atmosphere. Also, bocce and corn hole games! Nice outdoor patio, spacious inside. Cool features like a stone wall and slate pieces from the original woolen mill. Good vegetarian and gluten free options. Friendly service. Will definitely go back and bring the kids! Don't miss the waterfall behind it!
Expect a vibrant mix of flavors and unique dishes that keep you coming back for more in a welcoming, lively atmosphere.

Mosaic in Camden is a place that I still dream about since leaving our honeymoon last week. Long story short, we struggled finding a local dining establishment that I felt safe enough to eat at being gluten free. After some rough dining experiences (due to cross contamination issues for GF) in the area, we found Mosaic and gave them a call to inquire on if I could eat there or not. They make their delicious food from scratch--including their corn tortillas daily--and since only a few items contain flour, we decided to give it a try. We were blown away on our first night there. Our server Christina was absolutely wonderful. She understood my allergy and was able to make recommendations and modifications to some of the dishes so that I could enjoy them with no issues. We had a fantastic experience the first night there that before leaving, we made reservations for the next 2 dinners which was the rest of our honeymoon. It was a delight coming back each night and trying new dishes.
This isn't your ordinary Mexican-inspired type of place. In fact, they made numerous dishes from various cuisines that it was clear that they are simply experts on flavor, no matter where the inspiration is drawn from. They served dishes from all across the board from tacos to paella to fried chicken. We were obsessed with their salsas, particularly the salsa verde, which we ate every single night with warm corn tortillas instead of chips. The carne asada tacos are something we have never experienced before, and we consider ourselves taco connoisseurs! The steak is marinated in a blend of citrus juices and it tastes incredible paired with their guac and pickled onions. We also tried the chicken tinga tacos and veggie bowl, which were so packed with flavor. My favorite dish was their street corn and street corn dip. It's one of those flavors that you just have to close your eyes and soak in every moment of each bite! We also absolutely love the chocolate pot de creme for dessert. Perfect dish to share to round off the meal. On top of that, the cocktails were delicious and flowing.
We loved everything from the welcoming setting, the flavorful food, and the incredible service. I am so sad we live 8 states away and can't come back for a while, but I am counting down the days until I can!
