This is a nice local store but the prices are crazy high for the gluten free pre made items. You can find these same items at other grocery stores now for way cheaper. Sure 10 years ago you couldn’t find hardly any gluten free food but now that is more mainstream there prices need to come down!

Farelli's pizza is like the pizza places of old with fresh made dough and sauce and lots of tasty options. They don't have a problem with allergies (gluten and dairy) and make the dining experience very pleasurable. Our waiter (so funny and kind)didn't get his name. He made sure our food was allergy free. His table side jovial personality made our time even better. The pizzas, cheesy chicken calzone, were all really delicious! We also got bbq boneless chicken wings and df cheesy bread-so delicious! We will visit again when we are in town. Thank you to our red-headed waiter, which made our experience even better!
A must-visit for hearty sandwiches and soups with unique beverages, but be ready for a wait during busy lunch hours!

Worth the drive for us. Never a bad (always a great) hearty sandwich or soup. Lots of choices and happy to customize the sandwiches, including gluten free. I fill up on the 6 inch long and only get bigger sizes if sharing or saving for next meal. Parking and line can be tough at lunch, and only a couple of tables. Pass the time watching the Master Sandwich Makers do their magic, or order ahead -by phone only- and skip the line. Lots of unique choices for beverages (beers, sodas, juices, no fountain drinks) and chips, too. The dill pickle slice is a nice complimentary (and complementary) touch. Soup of the day is chef's choice except Friday. Great chili every day.
Get ready for a chill experience where vibrant energy meets unique offerings, making every visit feel like a special occasion!

Thankfully this place is on board with gluten free options. They offer Tamari as a soy sauce alternative so we could enjoy their delicious food! I had the steak and shrimp with fried rice and grilled vegetables. So much yum!

Great neighborhood bar feeling. Very nice tap selection and even a few GF options for those fellow sufferers of “the affliction.” Staff was very accommodating of a GF diet and well aware of what had gluten in it, saved me from the cheese sauce! Love the place and regular attendee!

Incredible food. Was here for a wedding and they catered multiple events. I have Celiac disease and the owner was very knowledgeable about gluten allergies and able to accommodate everything. They even have gluten free roti which was amazing.

New to Tacoma. Stopped here for dinner and OMG. I love this place! We had dinner and then ordered takeout so we could eat it tomorrow too😁 Everything we had was so good, and our server was amazing. I have celiac and our server knew the menu so we’ll, he was able to offer suggestions for me, and swap sauces on a couple of items so I could eat them. We intend to work our way through the menu! We definitely see this place becoming one of our favorites.
I’ve been saying it forever: Tacoma needs more healthy food options. I guess someone finally heard me because last year we got both a great salad shop (Crisp) and a phenomenal juice bar.
Well, calling Gather a juice bar feels like underselling it but juice-smoothie-bowl-latte-avocado-toast nirvana is a bit of a mouthful.
The Juice
Options run the gamut from “liquified salad” to super fruity. I’ve tried almost all of them and haven’t had a single one I didn’t like. My favorite is Sunrise, an apple-lemon-ginger concoction with a color that makes it as pleasant on the eyes as the tongue.
The Smoothies
Quality juice makes a quality smoothie. The ones made with coconut shreds were a little gritty for my taste but all were tasty.
The Bowls
Before Gather, you had to go to Gig Harbor to get an açaí bowl in Pierce County. Gather makes a great one as well as another smoothie bowl made with berries and almond mylk (and a tropical one that I haven’t tried because it kind of weirds me out that it’s made with pineapple and spinach). If the owners weren’t such great people, I would absolutely think they were lying when they said their granola was sugar free. It tastes like gingerbread in the best way possible.
The Lattes
Not made with coffee (although they sell coffee, too). They sound confusing on the menu but they’re actually pretty familiar: a matcha, a tumeric tea, a subtle hot cocoa, a take on a gingerbread latte and...a pink one that’s kind of it’s own thing. I haven’t had all of them but the ones I’ve had were delicious.
The Toasts
Two different types of avocado toast: spicy and not. Each is made with an entire avocado so you know it’s good. The other option, a heavenly almond butter/banana/honey number led me to actually say out loud “Why am I so excited about toast?” All are are served on a sourdough bread that is made in some kind of special process I don’t understand but is possibly friendlier to people with gluten sensitivities and/or other allergies.
There’s no getting around the fact that it’s pricey but it’s all made with high quality ingredients and I’ve found everything to be filling. Additionally, they give workers paid time off and I don’t mind paying a little more if it’s actually going to employees.
TL;DR: This place is great!
This place is okay. My bf and I always get an Unwich because we are low carb gluten free, so it's a great option they offer. First time in this location we asked for the gargantuan but in unwich style. The cashier had a pretty dead inside demeanor and told us they couldn't do that sandwich as an unwich. One of the other employees turned around and said they could do it and just wrap it in two separate individual unwiches. Second time coming we got the same thing and they tried to tell us again that they couldn't but we told them they could just wrap them up individually. The guy making our unwiches must have been new, because our unwiches were a little messy and not wrapped very well, but he was trying and was really sweet. The girl with heavy eyeliner on the other hand was muttering things under her breath and just had a sour attitude in general.
Overall, we still like this place.
Loved the mango sorbet!! So refreshing!! Pleased to see they offer gluten free cones, and sugar free cones. They also have dairy free and sugar free ice cream options!!
