We booked a table for 12 at the Masons Arms as part of a trip to York. I can say it was one of the best decisions we made on our Easter break away. The staff are welcoming, the pub is atmospheric (proper old northen inn), and the food is filling, tasty, and extremely reasonably priced. Most of our party took advantage of the Sunday roast deal. Choose from three meats, chicken, pork, or beef. Served with seasonal veg, a massive Yorkshire pudding and lashings of gravy. There are also extremely good gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan options on the menu for all courses.

My only complaint is we had afternoon tea with 'Champagne' but I never saw this being poured so could have been anything and the glasses are just horrible cheapest things going which can be to the detriment of a good wine or Champagne.
