We ate at Sopra Sotto two nights in a row it was that good. The first night we took a seat at the bar rather than wait for a table and the second night we asked to sit at the bar because of the wonderful service and interactions we had with Ruairi. Ruairi not only entertained us while we watched him making multiple cocktails but he also made great menu recommendations. The Gnocchi with Braised Beef, Rigatoni Fume Pasta and Lava Chocolate dessert were amazing.
This is the best restaurant we have been to in seven weeks of travelling.
The name of the restaurant is misleading because whilst the pizzas looked amazing it has quite an extensive variety of pasta, antipasti and desserts with a great wine list and cocktails.
I ordered gluten free pasta and desert to share with my husband and he couldnât tell the differenceâŠ.their gluten free options are that good.

My fiance and I were swooning over how luxurious our anniversary dinner was. Easily the top ice cream in Vancouver! All the flavors are so good and their waffle cones are truly the best I have ever had! The lines always move super quickly and staff are super sweet. This time around had the seasonal almond + sour cherry and brookie dough, which was actually from Mayâs menu. Overall, a wonderful restaurant! The food is delicious, and so many gluten free options. Most options are dairy free, too. I appreciated this so much I came back 3 times in a week! Be sure to order toum (Lebanese garlic sauce) with your food. It is the best!!!!
Only reason Iâm docking a star is service related. I ordered for pickup to eat in my hotel room, and two out of three times they failed to include the cutlery, despite me both checking the box for cutlery, and also putting in the comments. Staying in a hotel, you donât have access to cutlery, so please be sure to pay attention to customers who request it and provide it for them!!

Have been missing Red Robins since they closed all their Alberta locations! If you have any food restrictions, don't look at their allergen menu online, just ask your server. I have celiac and it was showing almost everything to have gluten, even the beef burger patties. Luckily that was not the actual case! Server was knowledgeable about what sauces and ingredients had gluten, and shared that fries can be made in a dedicated gluten free fryer. My meal also came out with the purple allergen stick.
I do however have to take stars off for the physical aspects of the location...menu had several sticky spots, carpet looked filthy and sticky, bathroom floors were even stickier! Very unappealing and makes you wonder about the cleanliness of the kitchen. We were in a booth and the back of the seat would move from both sides, uncomfortable when people are sitting on both sides and it kept moving!
Service was also quite slow, especially considering it was lunchtime on a weekday and there were not many other customers present
