The best Gluten-free fried seafood around! So delicious and fresh. Owners know their stuff and really take care of people with allergies or celiac disease.
This was my first time visiting this establishment, and I have to say my experience was absolutely incredible from start to finish. The service was warm and attentive, and the food? Simply amazing. Every dish had such bold, unique flavors, and I really appreciated the wide variety of vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options on the menu.
I ordered the Crab Scramble with vegan eggs, which was packed with flavor. I also got a side of the bison sausage it was my first time trying bison. While I personally prefer chicken or seafood over red meat, the sausage was still well-seasoned and tasty, with subtle notes of onion and bell pepper (not sure if that was intentional, but it worked!).
My mom ordered the Shrimp and Grits, and I got to try a bite and wow. It was a flavor explosion. I've never tasted anything quite like it before rich, savory, and perfectly balanced.
We all shared the Bananas Foster Pancakes, which were sweet but not overpowering, with a unique flavor that really stood out. I also tried their Iced Matcha Latte delicious and classic in taste. If you're looking for a traditional, less-sweet matcha, this is the one for you.
My cousin ordered the Cat Daddy Biscuit, and once again great flavors, perfectly cooked, and the sauce was on point. My aunt went with the Bearcat Breakfast, a more traditional option, but she swapped in the bison sausage, and it paired beautifully with the eggs and potatoes.
The only downside? Parking can be a bit tricky, and there might be a wait ours was about an hour. But trust me, it’s absolutely worth it.
Next time I'm in New Orleans, I’ll be back without a doubt!
Brian the server and young architect: My wife and I have worked in fine dining, Ruth's Chris and Brennan's, New Orleans; most servers find a way to irk me and disappoint. Brian's service was attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and friendly without getting in the way of our date.
Food: You can scarcely complain about any of the creole and New Orleans fusion served at Eliza; we have been loyal in particular for the gluten free fried seafood. For such a high quality place, however, I was disappointed to learn they are still using the industrial biproduct, "vegetable" oil, in their fryer instead of beef tallow or at least refined peanut oil (which does *not* cause allergic reactions).
I selfishly hope Eliza's can commit to clean oils in their kitchen, so they can once again be our go-to for fried seafood and perfect destination to show out of town friends a refined but casual experience of excellent south Louisiana fare.
One of the few restaurants I've ever been to where I had a drink waiter separate from the waitress, but was also chill with me wearing shorts and a graphic tee. They ask about and seem very attentive to dietary restrictions, so if vegetarian or gluten free or your thing they will work with you. I appreciated the hanging art separating the tables around the periphery of the restaurant as well as the general vibe.
I ended up ordering a couple of cocktails and the Ramos Gin Fizz was like drinking a slice of lemon meringue pie; 10/10 if you're into meringue. That was followed up with a honeysuckle liqueur drink melding blackberries and basil (honey child) that was good, but didn't come close to touching the Gin fizz.
I ordered the fixed price 3-course meal with turtle soup and sherry followed by the best shrimp and grits I've ever had in my life and capped off with the best bread pudding I've ever had as well. Thanks to the waitress for pushing me toward the bread pudding: The toasted pecans and caramel really sent it over the edge and made it an especially sumptuous dish.
Another gin fizz in a to go cup (because French quarter, why not?) and I was off to the next stop!
We wanted Fabulous local food and Sylvain’s did not disappoint! We had the Pappardelle Bolognese and Striped Bass which were both delicious, we also had the Fried Cauliflower which was a wonderful surprise!! Our server Chris was knowledgeable, efficient, and friendly. They were able to accommodate my gluten free restrictions, including dessert…a coconut crème brûlée! The ambiance was intimate and beautiful, we loved everything about this restaurant and highly recommend it!

The gluten free menu was great and had plenty of options. I had seen there used to be gluten free gumbo however there isn’t anymore. I had jumbalaya instead which was okay, but slightly bland. It’s also quite noisy inside and the AC was on high so it was cold.
I think the outside patio looked lovely and would recommend sitting out there.
Otherwise service was fine and lots of good food options.
Went on a Saturday so it was crowded but they found two seats together for us. The Southern BLT was delicious, especially the fried greens tomatoes. Wish the gluten-free items were posted more clearly on the printed menu.
Stopped in after work with a friend for a late lunch and had the best tuna salad sandwich *chefs kiss* My friend couldn’t stop raving about her food also. Server was fantastic and funny. Menu features gluten free options for those of us with dietary restrictions. Hope to go again!
Staff could not have been more pleasant. Wine menu was extensive with solid selections. Our mains were well made with fresh ingredients, unique flavors, and the menu took great care to provide top-notch options for vegans and gluten intolerant folks. While I’m not vegan, the chocolate vegan ice cream was incredibly decadent and delicious. The website pictures made me think seating was communal; it is not. We wish we could move this gem to our town.

We waited 40mn for a table for a late dinner. The person at the reception wasnt the friendliest but we were hungry. BIG SHOUT-OUT to Paul on the merch side to be kind enough to talk to us while we waited! We finally got a table and ended up waiting 15/20 mn to get a server. Wasnt too thrilled about that. Server was nice and informative on food allergies though. They have a gluten free menu available, but the seasoned fries weren't gluten free, needs updated. We got a burger and a pulled pork sandwich with green beans sub for fries. Overall wasnt impressed with the food specially for the price. Manager came to check on us and we ended up talking about music and tattoos! Memorabilia was interesting on the walls.
Been coming to Nola for Mardi Gras for the past three years running, and never miss a chance to eat at Another Broken Egg. Food is great, awesome gluten-friendly selection for us gluten-sensitive folk! Ask for Jenny!!
I had lunch here with my son, who has Celiac’s Disease. The manager - Blake - was AMAZING. After talking with him, I had full confidence that they were going to make sure my son didn’t accidentally get gluten. When he ingests gluten, he throws up for 4-6 hours, so it’s serious. Blake even went out of his way and fried up the tortilla chips in a separate pan so my son could enjoy them. Almost all Mexican restaurants have gluten-free tortilla chips, but they’re contaminated because they’re cooked in the same fryer as things with flour. I felt like we were Blake’s own family, the way he took care of us. I highly recommend Tio Javi’s. The food was outstanding.
I have celiac disease and waiter Tony was extremely helpful in making sure the kitchen understood how to safely cook my food. The restaurant also plays great music.
Absolutely amazing, great food amazing gluten free options, even onion rings can be made gluten free! All fried food is battered with corn meal. Possibly one of the best gluten free seafood restaurants I’ve ever been to! (im from Arizona) would definitely go again
Kay was probably one of the best servers I’ve ever had! I am Celiac and can’t have gluten. She took her time explaining all the breakfast options and I had the incredible gluten free French toast. The service from every person was excellent, the place is clean and friendly and all five of us had incredible meals!
In the past this location was well managed. Staff no longer has concern for customers. Also used to have gluten free fries and menu - no longer. Very disappointed. Drastically different.
The food was very tasty with good sized portions -- I had the cheese enchiladas and my partner had the street tacos in jerk chicken and adobo. The jerk chicken was incredible. The music was super loud, which I wasn't a fan of, and the servers were laid back, which I don't mind but some people don't like. There were a lot of drink specials and an abundance of vegetarian options on the menu, and eating gluten free was very easy. We'll definitely be back.
A hidden gem on Royal Street. The staff were so friendly and went above and beyond to make my birthday celebration special. The food was sublime. They were so accommodating with my gluten allergy and presented me with a cotton candy birthday dessert. If you’re in New Orleans you must dine here, it’s a truly magnificent experience.
Amazing experience ! Rhonda is on it when it comes to dietary requirements. She introduced the Gluten-free menu and was so polite and friendly. Food was amazing as always. Thanks Rhonda for making my experience super !!
We only waited like 15 minutes. Very good service. Food was amazing. Not very pricy either. 10 out of 10. You can customize your burger , hotdog, ETC. You can sub a gluten free bun too. Definitely recommend 👌🏻
Good Gluten Free options.
The house potatoes were stupidly good... I mean wow. I didn't know potatoes could be that good.
Also really liked the sticky beets dish, and the grilled carrots dish on the tofu-based ricotta alternative. That stuff was magic (and I'm not vegan). We used that as dip sauce for the potatoes and... it was incredible.
For the main course we ordered both the beef and chicken. Both were quite good, but honestly we enjoyed the small other dishes above better than the main course 😅.
Had creme brulee for desert, it was good too, but not particularly extraordinary.
In New Orleans during an historic snow storm today and everywhere within walking distance of our Airbnb was closed, except this little gem of a diner serving delicious breakfasts and sandwiches, with vegetarian and gluten free options should one wish. Really good food and absolutely delightful staff. Definitely worth a visit anytime, but especially appreciated on this rare wild snowy day. Thank you for being open!
I Got the Texas tuna melt on gluten bread and really didn’t enjoy it.I asked for fruit cup and got a salad and I wanted regular sun chips but got the cheese kind instead.I really wanted to like this place but ahhh idk🫤🫤
Our waitress was so nice, our food was good. And they have gluten free options! And good ones. This place is nestled in a cute little area and great patio seating. Very nice
I have been coming here for years with my 3 young kids for breakfast. I have celiac disease and my kids are 3, 5, and 7. Everyone is always very accommodating with my being gluten free and with the craziness of the kids. Christy M is usually our server and she is the bomb.com.
We stopped here for breakfast. Then, we chose to try their Beigntes. They came 4 on the plate. And although there is a more famous place on New Orleans that makes them we tried both. Both my wife and I feel this place makes the best Beigntes so far. Properly made dough and cooked to perfection. I would highly recommend them. Now digging into my Boudin omelet and her bourbon street breakfast. The Boudin omelet is great. It is light and fluffy. The hashbrowns are freshly grated and not over processed. My wife's pancakes are crazy good. I try to stay away from gluten, but I would eat these cakes and deal with the side effects without complaining. Hell yes, I drank the Boubon at 9:15am. No, I do not have a drinking problem. Bourbon while having some spice was smooth. If you are on New Orleans, put Cafe Fleur De Lis on your list to have for breakfast. Love it and will be back next time we are in New Orleans. It's really good.
I've actually been living in the same block as Coquette for a year now and because I have Celiac (gluten free required diet) I was apprehensive about trying this restaurant. I'm now kicking myself for waiting so long. I had a work dinner there the other night and was absolutely blown away by the service, the knowledge of our server about what was actually gluten free (without cross contamination), and the caliber of the incredible dishes that I had.
I could rant and rave about the food all day and night and while I do have limited options when I dine out, I don't have a pallet that's easy to blow my mind. Well, Coquette blew my mind. Every dish I had was incredible and what's more is that our server quickly, kindly, and assuredly pointed out everything on the menu that was safe.
I had the pan roasted cauliflower (best cauliflower dish I've ever had), little gem salad (made gf), and the duck. Each plate was better than the last and there was that extra amount of assurance from the server that everything was truly gluten free that made the meal that much more incredible.
Maybe this review is more impactful for folks that need a gluten free diet but I'll stand by the fact that regardless of the extra awesome gluten free experience that I had, anyone would be blown away by the depth of flavor and complexity of the dishes at Coquette. If you're a Celiac though, it's transformative.
Love the blueberry glutenless drop. They are almost always sold out pretty quickly. Today I was able to get one and they changed the size to about half of what it used to be. Would prefer a bigger donut comparable to their normal donuts.
Great service. Consistent coffee. Baristas and owner get to know their patrons and remember what we like. They’re always ready with a new coffee option if I want to change it up. They offer gluten free options! Thanks Ali and the whole team for great service and atmosphere!
I LOVE this restaurant! 😋 Most delicious gluten free fried catfish I've ever had. Cheese grits on point. Praline bacon 🥓 was divine. Service was impeccable. The restaurant has the perfect NOLA atmosphere and there's lots of cute things to walk to after your meal. I went there twice in two days because I loved it so much. In fact, I smuggled my leftover catfish back on the airplane ✈️ home because it was too good to waste! I will be back anytime I'm in New Orleans, bet.
Really cute cafe with delicious food we had the crab meat omelette (must have) shrimp and grits (must have) gumbo soup, biscuit sandwich and migas. Fresh squeeze juices were great. The biscuits are made from scratch and wonderful. No gluten free bread but there are some gluten free and vegan options in the menu. Cute vibe inside. No reservations so be prepared to wait but it’s soo worth it.
