This place was absolutely amazing. The food was so delicious and healthy. Felt like I was eating my moms homemade dinner. So fresh. Also 100% GF! So no need to worry about cross contamination 🤗
Went on a Thursday night and sat in the patio. Music was playing. They have happy hour till 7. Great 3 dollar tacos. And a huge portion of the menu is dairy, gluten free or both. Really delicious food
Sometimes, all ya really want is a good ol' gluten free breakfast sandwich, and thankfully, High Street delivers!
Apparently you can order a GF loaf ahead of time as well, in case you were wondering. The man working was super nice 🙂
Also very happy that they have delicious modification options, so my maple sausage, egg + cheese with avocado + caramelized onions was super flavorful and juuust a little bigger than I could finish.
Their pastries and refrigerated sides look super good; only one gf chocolate muffin available.
Small place with enough seating for 4-5 inside and 6 outside.
& the fresh OJ was super fresh!
So delicious! I have a burger on a GF bun and fries from their dedicated fryer. The server was gluten free herself and was SO helpful. I can’t wait to go back!
My husband and I decided to come here yesterday for a last minute night out and we have 2 complaints -
1. The menu on their website reads as if they have gluten free pasta and pizza options because both sections are not marked with the “cannot be made GF” asterisk. I am gluten free so this was a let down. I definitely recommend management update the website to be more clear.
2. Our cocktails were bad. We each had one of the signature cocktails and felt like they were unusually sweet. We then got 2 dirty martinis and they were very bad. We had asked the waitress if they were served in chilled glasses and she said yes but that was not true. The martinis we received were warm and not dirty. Could barely drink them.
Our food was tasty and the service was good so I hope next time is better on the cocktail front!
This place is just soo good! I have a gluten allergy and can easily get a yummy lunch here without any worry. The Kale Caesar, charred broccoli and chicken thighs are to die for!

Very celiac friendly! When I ordered gluten free bread for my sandwich, they immediately asked if I wanted them to make it in a separate part of the kitchen. The food is delicious, there are lots of options, and I’ve always felt very safe eating there.
I recently visited this beautiful restaurant and was thoroughly impressed. The ambiance is vibrant and artsy, with eye-catching art pieces and creative chalk art that give the space a unique, welcoming vibe. They offer a great variety of food and drinks, including thoughtful vegan and gluten-free options, which was a big plus.
Despite how quickly the place fills up, the service is impressively efficient. We were seated almost immediately, and the food arrived within 10 minutes of ordering. The portions were generous, and every dish we tried was packed with flavor.
For two people, including drinks and food, the total came to just \$58 with tip—which felt like a great value for the quality and experience. I’ll definitely be coming back.
Amazing restaurant with gluten free options. The cocktails were delicious, and the atmosphere was unbeatable. I would recommend a reservation if you plan to go.
If it is a date night for 2, going forward I would have split the salad with my fiance, but we each got our own and it was delicious. We will be back again in the summer to see that menu.
Gluten free options available. Staff is knowledgeable about cross-contamination.
Our server Kennedy was AWESOME. She gave us a lot of advice about the restaurant’s selections and twice went out of her way to find out about drinks as well as helping my wife choose low-gluten options. Five stars and two👍👍

So excellent that in the two weeks we were visiting Philly, we ate there twice. Not at all hard for people with celiac disease or soy or dairy allergies to eat well.
I've been eating at Rybrew for the past several years - it is by far my favorite sandwich and bottle shop in Philly. A variety of vegetarian options, gluten free bread, and fresh soup every day which has never let me down. Their salads are a meal - even a traditional hoagie eater like me didn't mind eating my greens here! They have an excellent selection of beers/ciders for any palette, with rotating specials/deals/favorites to help guide you.
Their baked goods are great, too. That carrot cake cupcake is well worth the calories.
The staff are very knowledgeable about gluten, cross contact, and celiac! (I’ve heard that the owner has celiac.) Great food, lots of GF options, the menu is well-labeled, and the atmosphere is great (indoor and outdoor seating)! They also have delicious GF desserts. This restaurant is my go-to.
NEW AMERICAN IN OLD CITY
The story of America was written in its colonial taverns, where future revolutionaries gathered to trade ideas and engage in spirited debate over hearty meals and cold drinks. Red Owl is smack in the heart of the cradle of liberty, Red Owl aims to revive that classic tavern experience, with a distinctly modern touch. The restaurant's superior details—hand-crafted cocktails, house-cured charcuterie, butcher-shop cuts of steak—make it a neighborhood respite. We do our best to accommodate the individual tastes and preferences of our guests with a variety of vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free menu options. That’s how Red Owl manages to be old, new and free-thinking all at once. Just like Philly.
We always love visiting the Hard Rock, no matter which city we’re in, and this was no exception. The food tasted great, but was a tad expensive when compared to other local restaurants. Also, for gluten-free options, you’re limited to mashed potatoes instead of fries, which isn’t ideal. Where we’re from in the UK, gluten-free fries are available in the Hard Rock, so I don’t know why the same can’t be true in America too. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was everything you’d expect from a Hard Rock.
The best Dinning experience I've had in some time. The service was A1, the food was beyond anything i could have expected. The Atmosphere is very pleasant and enjoyable, They were able to accommodated for my friend who has Celiac, The staff goes above and beyond to make sure your experience is excellent, This restaurant is a 10/10 in my opinion.
I had another incredible dinner here yesterday. The experience from start to finish was wonderful. The service was attentive and friendly. The food was absolutely delicious. I have to eat gluten free as a result of a medical diagnosis and the staff is knowledgeable and helpful. I will definitely return to Fork again soon.
What can I say? The food was amazing muscles in white, I don't eat gluten so I basically drank the juice! The salmon was amazing, the mixed vegetables were so delicious with a surprise sprinkle of lentils omg yum! Got to see an old friend in there and the server, I wish I caught her name she was super friendly and funny. All the other staff were great as well. This was like my 3rd time there why don't I go more often is my only question. I love having one on one dinners with my mom, we have the best conversations it's just a whole treat 💜
The food and ambiance was good and comfortable. I enjoyed the service, really appreciate the kindness and generosity of spirit.
Not much gluten free, but they did have a gluten free chocolate dessert that was delicious 😋
4 ⭐⭐⭐⭐
I got the breakfast tacos with pork sausage and my friend got the breakfast burrito. Soooo delicious! Lots of gluten free options (but a $2 upcharge for gf bread). Portions were a great size — my friend had to take hers home because she couldn’t finish it. The atmosphere was lovely as well with lots of cute art on the wall. Highly recommend this as a brunch spot!
Great food and even better service. Our server was very helpful in letting us know which menu options were gluten free (a lot!). We also sat overlooking the kitchen and you could her the kitchen staff confirmed orders with nut or shellfish allergies--I would feel comfortable eating here with a food allergy. The two of us shared four plates and it was the perfect amount of food. The crispy oyster mushrooms were our favorite.
Tonight we ate here after reading a review and I totally agree ... Great service, great food, good prices and a nice atmosphere... I had chicken wings which are gluten free and side salad. Drinks each.
This place is INCREDIBLE. From the amazing food to the thoughtful service to the beautiful atmosphere it doesn't miss. It's our go-to for any special occasions. I'm gluten intolerant and they are always incredibly knowledgeable and accommodating, it's much appreciated.
My fiancé and I stopped in last night for happy hour and had a lovely time. The margaritas were delicious. We got the three dip app, and each got a few different tacos to try and loved everything! Our waiter was so knowledgeable about gluten allergies and so helpful! We will back often!
the staff are incompent and deceitful. they are rude on the phone. we ordered at the kiosk. it took over 45 mins for the food. we informed the staff about a severe celiac allergy and they got the order wrong. now we don't know if the food is safe to eat. Will not be coming back here. there are much better tacos within a few blocks radius. I wish them the worst.
Lovely spaces indoors and outdoors. Menu with options for vegetarian, vegan & gluten-free diets. Well selected wines. Recommend the beet salad, grilled octopus, and seafood pasta. Efficient service. Relaxed meal in a nice atmosphere. Kudos!
Had a wonderful brunch. I loved the biscuits with turkey sausage gravy. The side dish of quinoa potatoes with onions and peppers was amazing. The gluten free waffles were perfect.
Highly recommend
Delicious byob in no libs! Prix fixe menu which includes app + entree + dessert. Super knowledgeable about gluten and gluten free diets too, I had several options to choose from
Fun atmosphere for an Eagles football win. Great food. I had the chicken tenders with a special sauce. Irish stew is good too, as are the ginormous burgers. Lots of tasty gluten free recipes on the menu. Great beers on tap with locals and seasonal favorites. (I secretly call it McManliman's). Good spot.
Service was fast and friendly.
Great place to stop after a walk along the river. We had a reservation for 3 and sat in the back. They have a lovely patio outside but we asked to be seated inside. Nice ambiance with interesting flowers on the table. Upscale. Probably good for a date or a meetup with friends. The food was great. They were well-informed and helpful with our friend's gluten-free restrictions. The cocktails were flavorful and have fun names! Excellent mussels and fried green tomatos. The catch of the day (tile fish) and squid ink fettucine were very tasty. Recommend the strawberry semi-freddo.
Fishtown Diner Review
Google Maps leads you right to the front door. Street parking is available (when you can find it), or you can use a nearby shopping plaza a few blocks away and then walk a short distance to the diner. Upon entering, we were greeted by smiling faces, a warm dose of Philadelphia nostalgia, and murals gracing nearly every wall. We were seated in front of a mural featuring the Liberty Bell, a subway train car, a Fishtown bus, the Love Statue, and of course my favorite, the Rocky statue with the art museum in the background. Behind the register, another mural pays homage to local sports legends: the Philadelphia Eagles, Flyers, 76ers, and Phillies, celebrating the city's rich heritage. The diner offers a mix of tables, booths, and counter seating, while the menu boasts plenty of choices at reasonable prices. We arrived at 11:30 AM, and the atmosphere really picks up around noon, so I recommend getting there before 12 if you can.
Now, let’s talk about the food. I enjoyed this experience with my wife and kiddo. My kiddo ordered the cookies and cream milkshake, which was rich and creamy, and he also tried the boston crème short stack pancakes. Although the portion was so large he couldn’t finish them, so come hungry! My wife, who has a gluten allergy, opted for the salmon and grits served with a fruit cup instead of bread. The salmon was cooked to perfection without tasting frozen or dried out, and its flavor was spot on. As for me, I went with the Fishtown omelet, accompanied by home fries and rye toast. When the server asked if I wanted peppers and onions with the home fries, I couldn’t resist when in Rome, right? Overall, the food was fantastic and the dining experience was truly memorable. Shout out to our server, Kat, you were awesome!
Last Saturday at noon, I had the pleasure of visiting Silk City Diner in Philadelphia. A diner reimagined, after its major renovation in 2007. The transformation, under new management, has turned it into a sleek modern space while still maintaining that classic diner vibe. The diner is located on Spring Garden Street, and while parking can be a bit tricky, there are street parking options nearby, as well as a valet service if needed. The place was quite full, which is a clear sign of its popularity. Given the lunchtime rush, I'd recommend making a reservation before heading there. The outdoor seating area looked nice however, we opted to sit inside. Next time, I'll definitely sit outside to enjoy the good weather while eating. The music was upbeat and created a lively atmosphere, making it a fun place to be. For starters, I tried the mac and cheese ($13), which was rich and creamy with a nice crispy top. For my main dish, I ordered the Kabayaki Glazed Salmon and rice ($26), which was cooked just right with the salmon itself being tender and flavorful especially with the kabayaki. My guest opted for the BBQ chicken wings ($12), which were smoky and had a great balance of tangy sweetness. Their menu is diverse, offering various dishes, from comfort food to more upscale options. If you're gluten-free or prefer something lighter, they have options, so don't be afraid to ask your server. And do try their fresh-squeezed juice! It's a great way to start your meal. The service was attentive and welcoming despite the full house.
Our waiter was friendly, visiting often and offering suggestions. Overall, Silk City Diner is a great spot to experience diner cuisine in a modern setting, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a tasty and enjoyable meal.
OUTSTANDING Venue! Glory Beer Bar & Kitchen hosted our son's Welcome Drink event for his wedding. The food was incredible and the service was top notch. Even better was the pre-event help from David Crudele in choosing menu items. We received so many compliments on the food from all of the attendees because there were gluten free and vegetarian options available. The Mini Cheeseburgers were the best I've had and the Chicken Tendie Board was a huge hit. The venue was private and easily held our 120+ guests! Highly recommended!
If you don't have an event, you should still go there for the excellent beer selection and tasty food selection!
