We were in the area and looking for somewhere tasty to go for lunch, and after seeing the reviews, we decided we wanted to come to blackies!
Even though we were a walk in, they were able to accommodate us and accommodate us, they did.
Most of the menu can be made GF, and there are pages, upon pages to this menu. Not only did I enjoy my meal (I got the French Onion Cheesesteak with Fries and it was SUPERB š¤š½), but my gluten eating family also had a meal. My Dad even said it was the BEST Ruben he's ever had (and he loves a ruben).
Since it was our first time there, our wonderful server was able to field all of my GF/Celiac-related questions with ease.
The restaurant is owned by two lovely women: one of whom has Celiac. They have dedicated fryers, AND they have separate kitchen tools (knives, utensils, cutting boards, aprons, etc.) for the preparation of GF meals. On top of all that, my food was brought out FIRST and SEPARATELY. Our server even brought out a new bottle of ketchup with my food so that there wasn't any CC.
I felt so well taken care of by the staff, and so safe while we were there, it was a new level of Celiac-care in this dining experience. I cannot more highly recommend blackies if you're ever in RI/Providence!!!
Separate gluten-free menu, many options, great procedures, bring gluten-free food out separately. A really fun atmosphere and a great dining experience.
During my recent four-day stay at the Residence Inn while attending Flight Sim Expo 2025, I was so happy to discover that 110 Grill was conveniently attached right to the hotel. It felt like such a treat to have a quality dining spot just steps from my room, especially after long days exploring the expo.
The restaurant has a warm and modern atmosphere, with a stylish interior featuring sleek wood finishes, cozy lighting, and an inviting open kitchen concept that lets you watch the chefs in action. It is spacious yet comfortable, making it perfect for both solo dining at the bar and gathering with friends at a table.
One of the biggest highlights about 110 Grill is their dedication to accommodating dietary needs. They are known for having a completely gluten-free menu, right down to a separate fryer to avoid cross-contamination. As someone who appreciates when restaurants go the extra mile for their guests, I thought that was fantastic.
I came in around noon on Sunday, and the place was surprisingly quiet, offering a peaceful escape from the busy weekend crowds. The bartender was absolutely wonderful. Although she seemed to be the only person working the floor at the time, she managed everything with such grace and friendliness. She was attentive and so kind, and she mixed some amazing drinks.
I enjoyed a couple of their signature 110 Margaritas, and they were both fantastic, perfectly balanced with fresh citrus flavors and just the right amount of tequila kick. For my meal, I ordered the Apricot Shrimp Risotto along with a side Caesar salad, and it completely blew me away. The risotto was creamy and rich without being heavy or mushy, and I was delighted that there were no diced onions hiding in it, since I usually find they overpower the dish. The shrimp were large and tender, and the hint of sweetness from the apricot created a beautiful harmony of flavors. It was one of those meals that stays with you long after you have left town because it was genuinely that delicious.
Looking through the menu, I noticed that 110 Grill offers a great variety of dishes ranging from hearty steaks and burgers to creative seafood options and vibrant vegetarian plates. Their menu often features seasonal specials and locally inspired flavors, keeping things fresh and exciting. They also have an impressive cocktail list and a nice selection of wines and local craft beers, which makes it a great spot for both dinner and drinks.
Service, even during quiet times, felt warm and personal, and I appreciated how attentive the staff were to details, especially when it comes to food allergies or dietary preferences.
If you find yourself staying at the Residence Inn or anywhere nearby, or you simply want a delicious meal in a modern, comfortable setting, I highly recommend checking out 110 Grill. It was the perfect place to relax, indulge in a fantastic meal, and treat myself during my trip to Flight Sim Expo. I am already looking forward to coming back the next time I am in town.

So much good to say here. Iāll start with our server at our most recent visit⦠Jenn was nothing short of fabulous! Sheās friendly and attentive and carefully helped me navigate a good allergy. Overall, she left us feeling comfortable and well served.
The food was fabulous too. Especially the gluten free options. My family ended up liking my food more than thereās which is the usual case with gf options. Try the crunchy salad! I had it with grilled chicken which was juicy and well marinated.
Thereās a good selection of drinks and desserts too. Try the gf carrot cake! Hard to find and itās so good.
Overall, the prices are inline with the food quality. The establishment was clean and spacious. We found it family friendly and also appropriate for couples. Retirees might like this place because of the relaxed feel. It was also decidedly LGBTQ friendly.
This particular location is one of the last in the area and worth the drive! Weāll be back.
Nice and classy environment with tasty food for both lunch and dinner. My go-to for a good and tasty salad, other food is awesome as well. Gluten free options too.
I love this placeā¦. they were one of the first restaurants to get on-board with having gluten-free options several years ago. Prices are a little high, but all prices are a little high. I love all the artwork they have displayed everywhere. I definitely recommend this place. ā¤ļø

This place is our favorite spot in Newport with so many gluten free options, lobster galore, fun cocktails, and attentive staff. We go every single time we visit Newport.
I went for the special Irish breakfast on a weekday shortly before St. Patrickās Day. The corned beef dinner knocked my socks off with how smooth it was! Just really commendable that a special could be so perfect. And for just $25! Sat at the chefās counter and saw the care and cooperation with which dishes were being prepared. Server was friendly, charming, and knowledgeable about gluten restrictions.
Service did seem a tad disorganized. I noticed plates sit on the counter for maybe 3-5 minutes before they went to tables.
Came to Red Robin because they were very gluten friendly. Not any more. The menu no longer lists gluten free items. No gluten free buns. Fries were burnt stale and cold
This is the only chain where my friend with a gluten allergy has never (knock on wood) had an issue with cross-contamination. No matter which location we have gone to, the food is always good and the staff is always friendly. Highly recommend.
One of the oldest restaurants in Rhode Island, and New England, is located across from an autobody shop, diagonal from a cemetery, and sitting on a rural road that feels like it's from the 70s.
Please do not judge a book by its cover, or a restaurant by its outside. I've yet to fully discover all that the Carriage Inn fully is, but here is what I've found:
An expansive menu. There are cocktails, wine, beer, and 11 rotating drafts. The end has all the typical American fixings, with gluten-free options such as rolls and pasta to substitute.
An amazing presentation of food. One time, I bought a burger to-go. When I forgot to ask for gluten-free rolls. What was picked up was a toasted burger bun that should have been in a FOOD COMMERCIAL. Normally, I don't write in all caps, but this bun was...George Clooney in glutinous form. Props to the chef!
A nice atmosphere. Some of the conversation I impolite overheard at my.last visit included an elementary schooler celebrating their summer, a family discussing the merits of a three legged picnic table, and some guy who goes to bachelor parties. The seating arrangements are spacious, and the interior has a blend of modern and traditional decor.
A lot of potential. Between the comedy events and the potential fundraiser opportunities that the Carriage Inn provides, there is a lot to do here.
As Arnold once said, "I'll be back!"
P.S. I recommend the Monday evening special for 2!
The place has a really cool interior and vibe. Every time Iām here I notice some different decor behind the bar or on the wall. I love that the bar seats have skateboards on the backs of them. The bar staff is always friendly and informative. I come in for my favorite cocktail, the track suit. Bourbon, aperol, yellow chartreuse, and lemon. The menu has a lot of gluten free options, and I even had the luxury of having GF onion rings this last visit. This place is one of my favorites.
My partner and I, on a whim, stopped by the Coast Guard House while we were driving through Narragansett yesterday afternoon and were absolutely blown away! Not only by the incredible service, (shouts out to Peter) but also the food and wine list! Whoever is running the beverage program is not messing around! I also have a gluten allergy and itās rare to find such a large selection of gluten free options on a classic New England menu. Almost every dish on the menu could be made gluten free or was already gluten free, I was pumped. The linguini and clams might literally be the best Iāve ever had! Next to the incredible food was the insane wine list! My partner and I LOVE champagne and their list had some baller bottles. We ordered a delicious 1/2 bottle of Tarlant with lunch (we couldnāt resist). Also, if you have the funds they have Krug listed as well!! IYKYK! After lunch and champagne, the dessert list was dropped and once again all but one of the desserts were gluten free! They have a pastry chef (I believe her name is Chef Jamie) who comes in everyday at the crack of dawn to create some of these masterpieces. We ordered the honey Pot De CrĆØme with a glass of Moulin Touchais (dessert wine from 1984) and it took what was already a perfect lunch to the next level. Canāt wait to come back for more!
They had a gluten free menu and was able to accommodate all my food allergies. I'm not usually able to have appetizers as other restaurants have no gluten options. They had appetizers, main course and pizzas.
We had a delicious dinner at Leoās this evening. The veal parm was off the charts, and the gluten free pizza was the best Iāve ever had. Wine, service, quality of food and ambiance will have us coming back soon.
Worst restaurant experience ever! Do not go here! I have celiac and I ordered a meal off the item that was shown as gluten free on the menu after I told the waitress that I was gluten free, and it turns out that it wasnāt! I ate some of the meal, and something didnāt seem right to me. I asked the waitress (who finally came back after at least 20 mins, and there was only one other table seated in the entire restaurant) to verify if it was indeed gluten free, she said that she āthinksā it is. She went back to the kitchen to check and then a gentleman came out (assuming the manager?) and informed me that it was not made as gluten free. He said the menu has it listed that way because it can be made gluten free upon request. That is NOT how it is written on the menu, PLUS I did inform her when ordering the food that I cannot have anything with gluten. I was beyond livid. They did not even offer to comp my meal and I was sick to my stomach after eating the small portion of my meal. Fix your menu!!!!!
Really happy we came here! We went with the chefās tasting menu, and were very impressed by the creativity of the chef. Multiple dishes were like āIāve never tasted anything like thisāā. The combination of ingredients were often out of box but perfect. They also were very accommodating with our dietary restrictions, husband is gluten free and I have to eat fully cooked food with my pregnancy, so they did a fully customized thing for us, which was amazing and made us feel really special. Their menu obviously changes often, so itās very nice to have seasonal, fresh ingredients. I can tell a lot of people here come repeatedly, which is another great sign. Overall definitely a place worth coming! Love the chef and our server!
I had the ribs and they were good, the sides were a little bland, they have a lot of offerings for gluten free (not something I have to worry about) which may be the reason for the bland sides. I would go again, and try something else before I decide if it will be a regular stop for me.

On September 1, 2024 we hosted a Celebration of Life at The Beach House for an amazing friend who passed away. She wanted a "party" on the water and didn't want everyone to be sad and crying. Even though it was a difficult event, the manager, Eric, was outstanding in helping us plan and implement a perfect day for all of us to be together, share memories and remember our friend. Eric planned for us to have two rooms, including the indoor bar, where people could be together to share stories, hug each other and enjoy some delicious food and beverages. Eric helped us plan finger foods and went out of his way to make to be sure we had gluten free options. He was very accommodating in letting us choose what would work best for our people. The food was served in both rooms and there was plenty of variety: shrimp, meatballs, flatbread pizzas, chicken, burger sliders, chocolate chip cookies and brownies. Everyone loved the food and commented on how delicious everything was. We were also allowed to pack up any food that was served and not eaten to take home with us. The service was top notch, we had two fabulous servers and two wonderful bartenders who were very kind, caring and respectful the entire time we were there. Eric was more than attentive to us and helped us set up a monitor for a slide show and videos. He helped us move table and chairs to meet our needs. We would highly recommend this restaurant for any event and/or dinner out. The setting is beautiful and the staff is amazing. Thank you Eric, the servers and the bartenders for making this event successful and for being so kind and considerate.
Iām giving Piemontes 5 stars because their pizza is fantastic. BUTā¦.Piemonteāsā¦. Cmon⦠I ordered a gluten free pizza (margarita) and you put this HORRIBLE looking basil in my box, you didnāt even put it in my pizza, which also came cold as ice. Do better next time with Gluten free pizza.
CAV Restaurant is a thoughtful place. Every component of the restaurant seems to be articulately assessed. "Everything in it's place" feels like a proper phrase for this restaurant. The antiquities that surround the dining tables are a severe example of the decorator's style. There are places in Providence that mix small business and museum, this is one of those places.
The menu had a selection that doesn't feel as limited as other niche restaurants. The selection did include gluten-free labeling for those who have the need. The Parmesan Encrusted Free Range Chicken Breast was delicious. The portion size was enough, for a fast metabolism, you may want to order appetizers.
I like to judge a place by it's presentation of a Caesar Salad. Some places look like they threw a bunch of lettuce leaves onto a place and smatter some cheese on top, with a sneeze of Caesar dressing. CAV was not this place. We ordered the salad without croutons, and it was delicious. There was some baked parmesan on top of the salad that added to the flavor. The dressing was light enough that it did not overpower the other flavors, such as the lettuce and the cheese.
The cocktails were excellent! I ordered the Silver and Gold Margarita, they were flavorful and highlighted the taste of the tequila without the taste of the alcohol. A very unique aspect.
CAV is a place where I am curious about it all. When observing all of the artifacts, and the actual space that the restaurant was in, it tells a very cool story. I recommend taking the time to make a reservation and enjoy the time spent there. It is a wonderful thing for CAV to be in Providence!
We just love Ollie's!! Great good and gluten-free options. The staff is friendly and courteous. It's a great mom and pop breakfast joint; it's our favorite in Cumberland!
Visited Trafford Restaurant on a quiet Sunday for lunch and enjoyed a pleasant experience. We were seated on the second floor with beautiful views. We ordered calamari and the grilled mahi mahi sandwichāboth were tasty. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. Nice spot for a relaxed lunch with a view, and they offer gluten-free French fries, which was a plus.
Went around last Sunday or so, had amazing service from management even to the busser. Food was really great though a little pricy. Paige served us drinks, apps, and our entrees and was happy to answer the plenty of questions about gluten products as I am a celiac. Overall great experience, canāt wait to go back again. I had to ask the waitress if she was related to the owners, she worked so hard, as if her parents were the owners. Emma was the manager that night and let her know what an amazing job and help everyone was.
My sister and I were in Westerly from out of town to settle our mother's estate. Neither of us are famililar with Westerly and had no clue as to where to go for a late breakfast. I Googled "Breakfast Westerly" and Kelley's popped up as the closest to where we were.
I am so glad they did. We had a great meal and they even have gluten free bread for toast. The staff was great and the place was clean. Service was excellent. I only wish they were open for dinner because we would have gone back!
Thanks for a great meal!
Charming retro environment with an updated, inclusive menu, including many gluten free and dairy free options! If we lived closer we would patronize the pharmacy. Thanks for your passion and attention to detail!
Was a nice restaurant and they did have several gluten free options available. The gluten free pasta tastes amazing. I would have given 5 stars but when I ordered my meal it had an option to add shrimp for an additional charge. The waitress informed me it was an additional 14.99 to add shrimp to a $12.95 meal which I thought was very ridiculous seeing as I could just order another entire meal for the price of 5-6 PCs of shrimp.
Absolutely LOVE this place and the staff! So friendly and the food is awesome! Something for everyone as far as menu choices...Never disappoints.
Tough for me to eat out as a celiac, but no worries here. The Gluten Free options are safe for celiacs for sure! Yummy drinks too!
i love south asian food and i am so happy there's a new spot in federal hill for it. i ordered the chicken tikka bowl and the mini samosas. the place is sooo clean and i love their decor like their little high top seating has marble counters. they were playing covers of my favorite bollywood music and it created a whole mood. the food tastes so fresh and so seasoned but because they build your bowl with you, you can alter spice and taste levels. the servers are SO kind. they loved taking questions and sharing more information about their kitchen set-up and how they make everything from scratch. you can see them cooking while you order and eat. it's so gluten friendly too. this is a great place to bring friends with different dietary tastes or needs. i put both kinds of rice and salads on my bowl, and picked the cilanter coolada sauce which tastes like mint parsley chutney. the mini samosas were the perfect crunchy accompaniment and sooo flavorful in their little bites. the tamarind chili is like a sweet and spicy sauce to dip into. i can't wait to come back and also to cater them for my college student events.
Meritage is a great place for a drink with the girls or date night. Many gluten free options for me is a win. The staff is always pleasant to be around.
My server Caroline was so attentive and not to mention so beautiful!! She attended to our every need and the food was to die for! I went to dinner with my family, my grandparents were in town visiting, they are hard to impress but loved everything from the ambience to the gluten free options. We will definitely be back! Sweet Caroline gave us an excellent night and we are very grateful!
We've dined at this restaurant three times now, twice outside on their lovely deck, and once inside. Every time, the food was outstanding as well as the service. I'm gluten intolerant, so I appreciate that they have a wide variety of choices for me. Also, they are very dog friendly on their back deck, which is an added bonus. The view of Wickford Harbor is amazing. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who is looking for a relaxing dining experience
Had lunch today and was completely impressed by the friendly, professional staff. With celiac, I have to be very careful with food and our server spoke with the chef about my request. Food was delicious and service was great. Next time we're in Rhode Island, I'm going back!
A nice casual place with wonderful American style food. We showed up 6 pm on Valentine's Day (we had forgotten), without a reservation, and the hostess still found us a table. The service is very good, our server went to the kitchen twice just to check whether a dish was gluten free for my mom's celiac. And the food!! Mom had one of the valentine's specials, a baked haddock with garlic sweet potatoes and asparagus. She enjoyed all of it. I had the NY Strip steak sandwich, which has caramelized onions, mushrooms, and cheese melted over all. The steak was the best I've had in years, on or off a sandwich - perfectly cooked, juicy tender and full of flavor. We finished off with coffee and dessert: flourless chocolate cake for mom, creme brulee for me. The first bite of that creme brulee almost killed me with delight, it is so good!
The only downside is that parking in the Village can be a challenge, especially if you aren't used to driving here. You'll probably have to walk a block or two - but it's totally worth it!
Great standby, especially if there are allergies, like gluten. Nice menu selection, plenty of choices. The food was very good, too. I had a steak that was cooked perfectly med rare. The chicken parm looked and was delish. Not too busy, but waitress forgot to mention drink special-$1 margs. Call button didn't get anyone's attention for over 10 minutes, and two orders had wrong sides, which we kept and ate. Not enough to freak about, drink was great when I finally got it, and all the food was delicious. Waitress was very nice. Would go back again!
We love this restaurant! Waiters are great, Leo is exceptional and Sean is a warm caring host. Fresh blue fin tuna tonight, it was so fresh. We get specials most of the time but the staples are great too! This restaurant also works for our gluten free friends.
