I visited Wednesday, 25th July, with my sister-in-law. We ended up ordering a few different things because there were so many delicious options to choose from – definitely not a bad problem to have! I moved to Melbourne four years ago and was diagnosed with coeliac disease almost three years ago. Since then, I’ve struggled to find certified coeliac-friendly cafes that offer cakes, pastries, and bread that don’t taste like cardboard. This place was a game-changer – their pastries and cakes are absolutely amazing, and the coffee was just as impressive! We’ll definitely be back for more!

Pastries with Asian-inspired flavors. Apparently it's also gluten-free, although that wasn't a factor in my choice. Ordered a canele, which had a nice, thick crusty exterior and good rum flavor. The inside was on the fluffy/airy side vs gooey - not sure if that was due to the flour used or just their style. It's a cute, compact store - would pop in again for a quick treat.

This place is quite a blessing, bringing amazing gluten free options out into the west! I’m talking fresh pies, bread loaves, cakes and baked goods AND frozen GF goods + gluten free shelf items!!! Give a gold star for the best lamb and rosemary pie and the deliciously moist vegan chocolate mud cake!

Customer service was good. All sweet items tasted like early 2000s gluten free cooking. Weird aftertaste and tastes a like a lot of baking soda. We’ve come so far for gluten free food and this just felt like a step back in time. Meat pie and sausage roll were alright.

Whilst it is expensive, the bread is beautiful, along with the pasties. The sausage rolls are good just a little oily. Cakes are like I remember them when I wasn't a coeliac.

My son and I stopped by Davies St. Food Co. for the first time on Saturday. What a treat for coeliacs. We had warm muffins and doughnuts. Also took home some GF chicken leek pies for dinner that night. The owners are such kind people, too. Highly recommend that you go and try the food. Lovely knowing everything is safe to eat and no worries about cross-contamination!

Myself and my husband were there today and this place doesn’t disappoint..we had a Vegemite cheesy scroll ..wow delicious..miss them as my husband is a celiac and I’m wheat intolerant and have not had a Vegemite scroll for years so thank you and also had there little sponge with cream ..yummy Thank you Just Yummy will be back when over that way again

A fantastic range of delicious foods that many have written off as a lost treat. They have a huge selection to take right away, frozen product to prepare at home, and a menu of more that can be prepared for you. Anyone who has a gluten allergy should make this spot a regular visit.

So, so disappointing!!! Just bought what used to be my favourite gluten-free sausage rolls from Gluten Free 4 U in Moorabbin. Not only do they now cost $6.80 each, but were smaller in size by at least a quarter and the pastry was really hard (suggesting less butter) making one completely inedible. Also, the server couldn't assist me with their app login, having worked for the company for a while and didn't offer to get someone else to help me. Never again GF4U ☆

Such a pleasant surprise to see Gluten Free pies, with a huge selection of flavours to choose from. When ordering, the staff member was very pleasant and informative about "the flourless pies" , that are cooked in same oven as other pies. So chance of cross contamination. Coming from WA, I'm so impressed with GF options in Victoria.

Always nice being able to eat anything in a store without having to worry about being "glutened", especially when there is a good range of hot, frozen, and cold foods and sweets available. All the labelling for other potential allergens and preferences is amazing, makes it so much easier to know what is in the food items rather than needing to ask about each individual item.

One of the best places I’ve eaten in Melbourne! Phenomenal chai - super spicy and flavoursome. The food was absolutely incredible! Super fresh and burst with flavour. The quality of the ingredients were very high, I could taste the quality with every bite. The lady who served me was very competent in assuring the gluten free food was coeliac safe. Too many options to choose from, I want to try it all! I’d say it’s quite expensive but when you think the quality is excellent, the taste is amazing and they produce their own nut milks - makes it worth it! 100% a must in St Kilda!

I have been to this place a few times and always enjoy the burger buns, chocolate bar cake, chicken schnitzel roll (toasted) and battered prawns. I was a bit disappointed with the frozen battered fish, which i cooked in the air fryer. The fish didn't have much flavour and was very oily. I was very very disappointed the other day when I was overcharged by $7.50. I went in to buy some bread and as I went to my car I realised that i'd forgotten the nice chocolate cake. When I went back in, the lady looked at me and said "have I overcharged you" I said "well i'm back just to get some cake". As she was with someone else, I checked my bank account and saw that she had indeed overcharged me. I was soooo disappointed 😔. I couldn't agree more with many of the comments that there are no prices on the items. Such attitude is so unfair to the customers. It's not easy having health issues and being on a gluten free diet. It's not a cheap diet, but at least be honest and put prices on your products. I read one comment where you said that you often change your menu that's why you don't put prices. This doesn't make any sense at all. Most of the time I see the same products there. And .... how much time will you lose in your day if you have to put other prices on new items. At the end of the day, the goal of being in retail is to have happy customers, isn't it? I also realised that it's better to pay cash there, as the card surcharge is supercharge.

Gluten free chunky beef pie was awful. Crispy pastry on top, pastry base in foil tray soft and fell apart revealing gelatinous glue like gravy with beef chunks suspended in it. One bite and into the bin

The Blacksmith have made cakes for my family birthdays for years. This year, I only gave the 48 hours(!) to make a significant 3 level 50th birthday cake, custom designed with dribbling gold icing and a cascade of flowers. They did it perfectly, and their fee was appropriate for the work. Not only did it look incredible, but it tasted excellent, and was gluten free. So as far as their cake service goes ... it's 5 stars from us. Thank you Neredine and Trish.

Dana Patisserie is a wonderful patisserie at 175 Carlisle St, Balaclava and truly an institution in the area. I am always impressed with the quality of the pastries, especially the croissants and pains au chocolat. As a fellow French woman and fan has mentioned, they are exceptional, a testament to the quality and care they put into their baking! The food is consistently amazing, and I always enjoy the warm and welcoming service from the staff. I was particularly impressed with the gluten-free Basque cheesecake and greatly appreciate the numerous gluten-free options available. I especially love the creamy, delicious cheesecake and canelé. Not only are they wholesale bikkie makers but they do a line of Gluten Free cookies that they sell in smaller packs direct to the public from their little shopfront. Yummy, and great gift idea for the coeliacs in your life! Door to the shop is s bit hidden round the front, so you'll need to look for it.
