This bakery makes me so happy. I can eat everything on their menu, and I always stock up on bread when I can swing by. (Best tasting gluten free bread I've found locally.) Always excited to try their rotating aura cupcakes for a nice twist, but my favs are the strawberry abyss and their swiss rolls. We've ordered a cake from them, and they did a wonderful job. (We'll likely order again.) Go stuff your face and smash the pastriarchy in one fell swoop. You won't regret it.

My family is obsessed with Rachel’s red velvet cake. My husband was recently diagnosed with Celiac and I found Sweet Charli Bakery when searching for a gluten free red velvet cake in Austin to continue our pre-Celiac tradition. I love that they have an iced (“frozen”) chocolate drink for people who can’t do caffeine! They don’t charge extra for alternative milk, they have vegan and gluten free options, and their service is wonderful (shout out to Gavin for answering my one billion questions and for being so patient and kind - what a star!). Their cupcakes are super tasty. Their icing is made of icing sugar (confectionery sugar) I think (rather than being buttercream), so they are on the sweet side, but I have a sweet tooth so I don’t mind. I got the chocolate raspberry, lemon, and blue velvet (some of Monday’s flavours) and I really enjoyed them all, though I’m a sucker for lemon. My husband got the birthday cake cupcake and was stoked. I love that you can get tiny versions of their big cupcakes because now I get to taste them all, and that makes me very happy!

Mr. Natural has been doing veg in Austin since 1988 and it was honestly refreshing to visit a vegetarian spot that harkened back to a time when the dining format was as unique in a veggie restaurant as it was to find one at all. Point being there is a little learning curve to dining at Mr. Natural in my opinion. You order at the counter, which is the same order spot for baked goods (which are in three different locations), take out, dine in, juice, grab n go or soft serve. So you need to know what you want (definitely preview the menu online) before you step up to the counter and what your objective is. The staff is very, very helpful and will explain the salad bar (which is a whole other thing) and the validated parking situation (which is another). If you get stuff to dine-in, staff will bring it out and call out your name. They will bring silverware but you are on your own to retrieve water (by the salad bar). The other interesting throwback I am more thankful for is the food. Almost everything is made in house and is not overly sweet or salty. In this day and age of frozen beyond burger restaurants I could not have been happier. The mole enchiladas were excellent and I bought waaaay too many baked goods to go. I did not realize beforehand that Mr. Natural had the widest and best selection of vegan baked goods in the Austin area with many gluten free options and beautiful custom cakes! This place will go in my regular rotation and I highly recommend it for a breakfast option. *dog friendly patio

The best mochi donuts in Austin! Teresa and Anthony, a husband-wife power duo, run this little pop-up business all on their own. They use a traditional Korean recipe and use 100% rice flour in their donuts, making it completely gluten-free. The flavors change often and are creative, fun and ALWAYS delicious!

Great donuts, lots of vegan and gluten free options. I wish I had found this place sooner. I recently tried something other than the donuts here, wow. The macarons are perfection. I went to pick up some as a treat for the office and also got myself a kolache. Everyone was raving about how good the macarons and cake balls were. The kolache was amazing, the texture and flavor were masterful.

Absolutely wonderful place for gluten-free (GF), vegan, and soy-free pastries, cookies, and sweet bread (mainly cupcakes. They also have a variety of music, stickers, stones, clothing, and other merchandise available plus non-merch clothing. Huge bonus that the plastic that things are individually wrapped in are all compostable as they are made from plant-based renewable resources. As of early May 2025 Google maps does not take you to the restaurant or even a good place to park for it- it takes you closer to Tweedy's bar parking. The parking behind Out of the Closet thrift store, across the street from Antone's records, is better parking and a much less complicated walk to the entrance. It does look sketchy, but at no time did I feel unsafe (I went around 5-6).

This is a really good bakery. I ordered a variety of items and have tried several (my favorite is the cowboy cookie). They took the time to check whether an item had corn syrup in it (I have a friend who is allergic to it, but I wanted to get something for her, too). The item (the passionfruit-cocunut dessert) is both gluten-free and corn-free. That's hard to find. On top of all that, the staff was friendly and efficient. I'll definitely be back. :) Update: I have now tried several things. They were all excellent. This really is a good shop. :)

I want to gatekeep this place because I love it so much! The owner and her team are so nice and helpful. My family has a small biz in Austin, so I am always excited to support local businesses. The food: I love the super bun sandwich for breakfast! I sub the pimento for avocado and it’s literally so delish. Their pastries and cookies are also so good. The salads and overnight oats are also really yummy and fresh. My celiac bf loves their gf cinnamon rolls. The coffee: I love their house made coconut syrup in my latte! The maple orchard is also super good for when you need 4 shots of espresso lol My family loves stopping by here all the time even though it’s usually a little out of our way! 10/10

I had been wanting to visit since we moved here 2 years ago. Many people have recommended it , including on reddit as a romantic place but also family friendly. We went with the intent to only order dessert as a celebration of a special event. We were not asked if we were celebrating, as per custom but I also didn't mention it so whatever. After we noticed other gluten free and dairy free options we decided to order meals. The server was friendly and attentive despite it being very busy. She was careful with our children's allergies which I truly appreciate. The atmosphere is very 90s grandma's house but with all the cousins and crazy aunts over, which is too say loud, chaotic and drunk people all over. I would not call this place romantic or family friendly. The food was priced accordingly with other similar Austin restaurants, about $25 per plate. I had the pecan salmon, it was fine. Definitely not what the other reviews suggested. Something I would make at home on a weekday. Mine didn't have any delicious sauce. I added the sauce that came with the fried pickels to it bc it was very dry and had several bones which is expected. The fried pickels were very good. The batter was light and crunchy . We also ordered a burger it was fine. Kids meals were the usual with the exception of a healthy option which we love to see. it was a very small serving of protein even for a child, but a win is a win . The chocolate mouse was thick pretty much solid and very bitter but for a vegan gluten free option I'm glad there was something on the menu they could have at all. The creme Brule was runny and lacked flavor. We spent about $120 for 5 people but for that we could have gone to our regular place , kerby lane for similar price but better environment for a family already feeling over stimulated. The best thing we ordered was the side salad that had a great ceaser dressing , maybe house made ? Overall I don't understand the hype. Maybe we went on a bad day or time but the flavor and food quality wasn't what I expected after what I've heard. Very chain restaurant with only microwaves in the back. Good service and server doing her best with help. Also restrictive deit accommodating.

I'm thrilled to be able to get gluten free cake! The chocolate cake is to die for ❤️. Normally it's just cupcakes that are available. I have nothing against cupcakes it's just nice to have a slice of cake. I will have to try the white cake next. Hands down the best chocolate chip cookie I have had. While the selection of gluten free is small it is delicious. I don't have to drive across town for this anymore. I have my slice of heaven just around the corner. The counter help is young and not extremely friendly. I've been twice and I don't believe I've ever seen any of them smile. They are helpful though.

I always pass by this place on the road but never actually went to eat here, that is until this morning. I had a wonderful experience here I had to use the restroom because there was no others nearby so I stopped here, The Man behind the counter was very friendly and let me use the restroom which I greatly appreciate because I really needed to go. After using the restroom I figured I checked out what was available to eat here, I was focused on looking for any food that was gluten free, (because I am gluten intolerant) it is hard to find places sell gluten-free food. So I was very surprised to find out that Russell's bakery had a pretty good amount of gluten-free baked goods! I was very impressed also with the taste of the food I absolutely love the pecan and banana muffins! Definitely some of the best tasting baked goods I have ever tasted in my opinion! The staff was very friendly and welcoming to me before and after I have me purchases. So I know they were very genuine. The Man behind the counter was the one that helped me the most I don't remember his name. I will be coming back again thank you for the wonderful experience! :)

Mozart's is the quintessential Austin experience. There is an eclectic live local music scene, a beautiful view of the lake with the opportunity to rent a padle boat and truly emerce yourself in the vibe . The food is relatively responsibility priced the expanadas are great so are the quiches especially the gluten free crustless potato leek . All the coffee teas and lemonades are delicious. Only down sides are the long slow lines, which only gives you more time to admire the dessert case and listen to the music and the bird poops. Beware the bird poop! Give yourself a couple of hours here to soak up the ambiance and sip your drink and the views.

I started going to their store just to check it out and food choices been liking their Mexican organic coffee decaf lots of gluten free choices probiotics and they also sell food their so today I tried their food bowl sadly their rice was under cooked and pastries not tasting fresh guess we should of gotten their earlier other than that still going back for their coffee.

I needed a gluten free cake for our wedding - my husband and I had done quite a few gluten free tastings, but they all tasted dry and off somehow. We found Michelle’s Patisserie I think through another bride on here and I’m so happy we did! We actually had our tasting in-person with Michelle and she was so attentive and thoughtful in how she approached decorating and making our cake. The other tastings we had, they literally just set up to-go boxes for us and we had to eat it on our own, with no explanation of the cake or suggestions of filling/cake pairings, or anything. That’s why we loved Michelle’s because we really got the cake tasting experience AND the gluten free was so tasty, not dry or flaky. You couldn’t even tell it was GF. We did classic almond, and honey lavender flavors. We had multiple guests get multiple pieces and said it was so good! We kept the top tier and I’m super excited to eat it again in a year.

Super cute little coffee shop! First time visiting and really enjoyed their Vietnamese latte, morning bun, and gluten free cinnamon pecan muffin. Staff were friendly and great customer service! It is a little small with only two tables inside and outside but for a group of four people it was perfect to chat for a bit. Would come back!

I love having this gem in our neighborhood. I am gluten free and was pleasantly surprised at all of the gluten free options. I tried the GF pistachio cake slice and it was divine and perfectly sweet. Livid! They completely dropped the ball. I was referred to sweets treats by my wedding vendor. I was excited to schedule a tasting with them especially since I needed to find a vendor that provided normal cakes as well as vegan and gluten free. I texted the number and asked how to best organize my tasting since a member of our party (that was flying in for the tasting) required both a vegan and gluten free option. I was told it would be best if I ordered separate cupcakes on the side that were both gluten free and vegan. I was assured that whoever I was texting would make sure it was set up for my tasting. Two days before the tasting I ordered the cupcakes and once again wrote a note that they needed to be both gluten free and vegan. The morning of the tasting I got a call that the cupcakes were made gluten free but not vegan and that the baker was out for the day… The women on the phone asked if it would be okay if she looked for a vegan option… I said okay even though I know that wouldn’t suffice because I had to think about whether I would continue with the tasting and exclude half of my group… or if I cancelled our afternoon event all together. I was extremely frustrated having to tell family that flew in that we couldn’t do the tasting anymore even after making three notes about our needs. I will definitely be telling our vendor about our experience and how they may want to reconsider having them on their preferred vendor list. Especially since they couldnt manage hosting a tasting … I can’t imagine them managing a wedding order.

First things first... The Gluten Free Lemon Poppy Loaf and the Banana Nut Muffin (Also GF) are amazing!! The only reason for giving -1 star for the food is because of the preservatives they have in the muffins and in the bread/other pastries. They go so fast that there is literally zero need for the preservatives they sell out quick! The service is always great though their consistency as far as hot chocolate needs to be a bit better I went in one morning and it tasted like they had just roasted cocoa beans straight from the source and not a day later at night it was like the worst kind of chocolate milk that was barely warm, but everyone is always super friendly, and you can tell that they use quality espresso when it comes to coffee. The atmosphere is really nice, they are like a few other cafe's/restaurants that have artwork available for sale that when you look at it you'll say, "That looks nice how much?" Only to then immediately walk away because it's a few thousand dollars. Under the artwork is a couch comfy area to sit but there is a lack of plugs you have to move the couches to get to the plugs behind them which kind of sucks but it is what it is. The two chairs they have aren't really that comfy so I'd go for one of the three couches if I were you. They do have pretty nice restrooms though, and a selection of beers on tap with a nice L-shaped bar. I will be adding photos of everything I can in the very near future unfortunately I don't have any good ones of the food because I eat it so fast lol. They have a nice area outside and there's actually a walking trail nearby behind in the back parking lot behind the buildings it's been a bit cold so I haven't walked it myself but when it warms up I will. Overall I'll be back for the muffins though I wish they would take out those preservatives, and the hot chocolate as I've given up coffee. Peace!! -DD
