What can I say, these folks know how to do steak.
Unfortunately for me, I'm celiac so need to be careful. They have a few gluten-free items on the menu and many more that can be modified to be GF.
My steak was medium, the perfect temp on my plate, and I'm fairly certain we didn't talk during the meal, but we definitely enjoyed them.
The significant other has lobster. She was in heaven.
We skipped dessert.
The only downside, and it really wasn't, was that there was a lineup, and the hostess stated we might be waiting 45 mins without a reservation. We were only waiting about 20mins while we enjoyed our Mushrooms Neptune appetizer at the bar (GF, they didn't have the potato puffs, GF on the menu), and our wine pairings were perfect.
Bonus: AWESOME bar staff and table service!
Four stars for the atmosphere is how hectic it seemed. Tight spacing and constantly moving with purpose staff, detract from a relaxing environment, but that's not anyone's fault. Maybe because we were on the 'bar side' once seated at our table.
Also not a place for those who might be watching their budget. We had a gift card and easily doubled that.
The food was good. The service was great. The waitress was very knowledgeable in regard to gluten-free items. They have many GF options, and they even have a separate fryer.
Absolutely amazing!!! I do not say that easily with Italian places. I am super picky but wow!! Everything we had there was a 10/10! My husband has celiac and they had a ton of options for him, which is the main reason we decided to try it. That was a real treat for him to have more than 3 options!
A very nice restaurant with fantastic service and great knowledge of celiac disease and gluten free options.
The food was delicious and the service was exceptional.
The restaurant itself is quite dark and feels more appropriate for dinner than lunch. We look forward to visiting again.
Had a great gluten-free chicken burger with a garden salad. Was not your usual dressing on the salad, something different, that made it so much better than just a side salad. Service was also top notch, understood my allergies, and took care of my needs. Will go again.
We went for the first time on Saturday night and it was spectacular! Not just the food, but also the staff and service. I am celiac and everything was explained and there were many gluten free options. We had a wonderful experience and will be back!

Food and atmosphere was good. They have many gluten friendly options which are clearly marked.
Service was great.
My only complaint is the music is too loud. I couldn't even hear my friend that was right next to me.
I don't mind louder music but if I can't have a conversation with the person I'm with, it kind of defeats the purpose.
I am celiac and a gluten friendly menu was provided to go along with the regular menu for prices. Baked potatoe, mixed vegetables and side salad are only options but no baked potatoe at this location. Garlic bread, rice and sauces are not available for gluten friendly options but you will still be charged full price for only three items. I was offered extra veggies but I don’t need half a plate of vegetables. The manager hid in the back and we went to a different restaurant. Will not be going back. They are over priced in the first place. They should not bother offering a gluten friendly menu when they can’t serve a complete meal. Waste of time.
My cousin is gluten intolerant and our server, 1049 Bayliegh, was extremely careful, knowledgeable and patient. She checked out every entree my cousin was considering. The result was an enjoyable and safe lunch. We were very impressed.

I was excited to get a plant based burger from here because Winnipeg's plant based options are fairly limited particularly when it comes to burgers. I should not hav allowed the great reviews for the Plant-Based Burger to influence me to go for it. Both the burger and fries were both mediocre, especially for what I paid. Both were quite tasteless and gluten free bun was dry. Gluten free bread is often bad, but I've tasted really good gluten free buns before, this was not one of those times. Next time, I would opt for the plant based Chicken sando or Black Bean burger - it's hard to screw-up a black bean burger in my opinion.
Good gluten free hot wings. Suicide sauce was a cry for help, never would have gone through with it. Nachos large portion, filling but gave one of our party the runs within the hour! Needed jalapeño! Good drinks, decent to food service. Bathrooms very new and clean.
Despite the menu claiming to have gluten free options, it’s pretty much not celiac friendly. For instance, the steak and fries is marked as gluten free on the menu, but they do not have a separate deep fryer, so cross contamination is an unfortunate reality for the french fries. Also, the only substitute for buns is a lettuce wrap. Seems like management should do a little more research into what constitutes gluten free, before making aforementioned claims on the menu.
Such great service. Chefs came out with a delicious sesame balls to try! Food came on a boat too. Highly recommend this place!!!! They also accommodate to Gluten Free.
I was pleasantly surprised by the vegetable omelette. It was FULL of fresh vegetables. They had gluten free toast which was nice and pan fried breakfast potatoes. The view is nice of the lake while you eat.
Had dinner at club regent in there restaurant, i was very impressed cause I have gluten-free intolerance to food. I explained that to the server every time they send out the chef, and he asks what you're planning on eating and he will tell you what differently he will make it for you safely. It's such a great thing for me. Then we went and played some bingo, and later slot machines. Great night out
Just wanted to provide a few comments as a person dining at the Keg with celiac disease (gluten free). I’ve had mixed experiences dining here - when it’s busy (which is often), I find that the lack of communication with servers and the kitchen regarding gluten free options and cross-contamination makes for an uneasy experience. This is greatly exacerbated by the fact that the online menu and the in-person menu both indicate different gluten free items, so it’s difficult to tell what is safe. Those with celiac often plan ahead to know what menu options they can order, so I’d appreciate this being updated to avoid confusion! However, when the restaurant is not busy, I’ve had some good experiences where I felt that my meal was celiac-safe (albeit menu confusion) and where servers were able to communicate my needs with the kitchen and share what accommodations could be made.
I would really appreciate if servers at the Keg ask guests at their table if there are any allergies prior to ordering (other restaurants in Brandon should do this too!) to help those with allergies/sensitivities/celiac feel more comfortable dining there, and to open up the conversation for guests to feel at ease. Since dining out is a real luxury these days, I think these suggestions would help create a more pleasant experience for celiacs at the Keg. Thank you!
