The food was awesome! And Henry is the man! His recommendations were the selections that I went with and he took care of me with regard to my gluten allergy. I went with the red fish and it was so good. It was the perfect end to my 60th birthday celebration in the Big Easy.
You’d likely never know this adorable, plant-filled space on a block bearing a street name no one knows (that feels more like an alley) could be the best thing to happen to your week. Located directly across from one of the two U.S. Court of Appeals loading docks, this oasis quickly transports the diner to a country they may have never visited and may now want to visit immediately.
This isn’t that “Mexican” place you have in your hometown that mostly serves to pacify the American palate. That isn’t to say it will feel unfamiliar or awkward; you may just realize excessive grease and cheese aren’t required for enjoyment of every item.
With the exception of tortas (sandwiches) and a couple of desserts, everything is gluten-free. Not just in the “no-gluten-containing-ingredients” way you may find many places, but instead it’s an environment where staff are trained on cross-contamination (and where they have a dedicated frier). There are also numerous vegetarian and vegan options.
Happy hour is 3-6 weekdays, and you’ll definitely leave happier. Then again, that’s kinda guaranteed anytime you visit.
Do yourself a flavor 😉 and walk right on over from the streetcar or even the French Quarter. Should you take the ferry over here from Algiers? Well, I sure won’t discourage it!
Come hungry, thirsty, and ready for your life (or at least taste buds) to be improved.
Omg. This place was amazing. Great cocktails and an abundance of gf Snack/ bar menu options. Including fries, spicy kimchi fries, and wings that were all stunning. My group of 11 literally ordered dishes over and over again to share. The only dish bit be ordered multiple times? The one dish with gluten.
One of the few restaurants I've ever been to where I had a drink waiter separate from the waitress, but was also chill with me wearing shorts and a graphic tee. They ask about and seem very attentive to dietary restrictions, so if vegetarian or gluten free or your thing they will work with you. I appreciated the hanging art separating the tables around the periphery of the restaurant as well as the general vibe.
I ended up ordering a couple of cocktails and the Ramos Gin Fizz was like drinking a slice of lemon meringue pie; 10/10 if you're into meringue. That was followed up with a honeysuckle liqueur drink melding blackberries and basil (honey child) that was good, but didn't come close to touching the Gin fizz.
I ordered the fixed price 3-course meal with turtle soup and sherry followed by the best shrimp and grits I've ever had in my life and capped off with the best bread pudding I've ever had as well. Thanks to the waitress for pushing me toward the bread pudding: The toasted pecans and caramel really sent it over the edge and made it an especially sumptuous dish.
Another gin fizz in a to go cup (because French quarter, why not?) and I was off to the next stop!
We went here specifically for gluten free food. The owner was there and super friendly. We ordered gluten free fried green tomatoes, shrimp, crayfish, catfish, pickles, and fries. The coating/breading was light and airy.
We were the only ones in the restaurant. It was a little awkward, quiet, and dark.
I am gluten free but the others with me were not. The charbroiled and raw oysters are amazing! And they're gluten-free except you have to ask for bread on the side. I probably did not order the right thing, but I had the grillled shrimp which were meh and the fries that were nice. for gluten full people, the beignets were a hit and also the gumbo and bisque
We wanted Fabulous local food and Sylvain’s did not disappoint! We had the Pappardelle Bolognese and Striped Bass which were both delicious, we also had the Fried Cauliflower which was a wonderful surprise!! Our server Chris was knowledgeable, efficient, and friendly. They were able to accommodate my gluten free restrictions, including dessert…a coconut crème brûlée! The ambiance was intimate and beautiful, we loved everything about this restaurant and highly recommend it!

The gluten free menu was great and had plenty of options. I had seen there used to be gluten free gumbo however there isn’t anymore. I had jumbalaya instead which was okay, but slightly bland. It’s also quite noisy inside and the AC was on high so it was cold.
I think the outside patio looked lovely and would recommend sitting out there.
Otherwise service was fine and lots of good food options.
Great restaurant with authentic food and amazing service! Could accommodate my gluten allergy which I sincerely appreciate :-). Steak frites and eggs are fire 🔥
waiter was phenomenal with dietary restrictions and went above & beyond to make my partner and i feel welcome! (dairy free and gluten free). we had the jambalaya (GF, DF) (4/5) and the rice and beans (GF) (4/5) and the flight lemonade drinks (2.5/5). the potato salad and the appetizer sausage was SOOO delicious. overall awesome atmosphere, people & food. worth the long line outside ! (and super affordable)

We waited 40mn for a table for a late dinner. The person at the reception wasnt the friendliest but we were hungry. BIG SHOUT-OUT to Paul on the merch side to be kind enough to talk to us while we waited! We finally got a table and ended up waiting 15/20 mn to get a server. Wasnt too thrilled about that. Server was nice and informative on food allergies though. They have a gluten free menu available, but the seasoned fries weren't gluten free, needs updated. We got a burger and a pulled pork sandwich with green beans sub for fries. Overall wasnt impressed with the food specially for the price. Manager came to check on us and we ended up talking about music and tattoos! Memorabilia was interesting on the walls.
Been coming to Nola for Mardi Gras for the past three years running, and never miss a chance to eat at Another Broken Egg. Food is great, awesome gluten-friendly selection for us gluten-sensitive folk! Ask for Jenny!!
A group of friends and I went in for a birthday dinner and had a lovely time. Sherwyn was our server that night and he was awesome. Very knowledgable about their gluten free options which is a must for me. Also awesome food! A favorite for us.
The food was very tasty with good sized portions -- I had the cheese enchiladas and my partner had the street tacos in jerk chicken and adobo. The jerk chicken was incredible. The music was super loud, which I wasn't a fan of, and the servers were laid back, which I don't mind but some people don't like. There were a lot of drink specials and an abundance of vegetarian options on the menu, and eating gluten free was very easy. We'll definitely be back.
Boris was a fantastic server! He helped me feel safe and cared for regarding my celiac dietary restrictions. The food was excellent and quick! Would definitely eat here again!
I ordered from M bistro because they have gluten free options and the staff it’s not only knowledgeable about celiac disease, but very accommodating and flexible. I had a gluten-free cheeseburger with gluten-free bun the first night and the second night I had gluten-free pasta with chicken. (and actually, they realized that the pasta that they were originally had gluten in it so they remade my whole entire meal without me having to worry about it and told me what happened.) 100% would recommend if you have celiac disease or are on a gluten-free diet for health reasons.
I've actually been living in the same block as Coquette for a year now and because I have Celiac (gluten free required diet) I was apprehensive about trying this restaurant. I'm now kicking myself for waiting so long. I had a work dinner there the other night and was absolutely blown away by the service, the knowledge of our server about what was actually gluten free (without cross contamination), and the caliber of the incredible dishes that I had.
I could rant and rave about the food all day and night and while I do have limited options when I dine out, I don't have a pallet that's easy to blow my mind. Well, Coquette blew my mind. Every dish I had was incredible and what's more is that our server quickly, kindly, and assuredly pointed out everything on the menu that was safe.
I had the pan roasted cauliflower (best cauliflower dish I've ever had), little gem salad (made gf), and the duck. Each plate was better than the last and there was that extra amount of assurance from the server that everything was truly gluten free that made the meal that much more incredible.
Maybe this review is more impactful for folks that need a gluten free diet but I'll stand by the fact that regardless of the extra awesome gluten free experience that I had, anyone would be blown away by the depth of flavor and complexity of the dishes at Coquette. If you're a Celiac though, it's transformative.
I came to New Orleans for my bachelorette party and my group decided to eat here. My sister and I both have a severe gluten allergy and it is hard enough to eat anywhere in the city. We both opted for salads to be safe. I asked my waiter if there were croutons on the salad and they replied no. He then brought both of our salads out full of croutons. I sent it back to be remade and reiterated that we have an allergy. The kitchen staff then proceeded to pick off the croutons on the salad instead of remaking it and sent it back to us. We had many bites before digging to the bottom and realizing it was full of croutons still. The service was slow, and my waiter didn’t care about our food requests. The manager did comp the meal for us but the potential of us ending up in the hospital due to an allergic reaction was unacceptable. The waiter then proceeded to joke with us about it on the way out. He should be fired. TRAIN YOUR STAFF TO BE MORE VIGILANT ABOUT FOOD ALLERGIES. THEY ARE SERIOUS FOR SOME PEOPLE AND COULD KILL THEM.
I have celiac disease and my bar tender, Zoey, took amazing care of me. She made sure that my food was safe. She she was having an off day, but she still made us some amazing drinks and entertained us all night.
Marcus the manager was fantastic as well. He made some amazing recommendations for food and treated us very well. I'm not sure about the other staff, but if Zoey and Marcus are there, you're guaranteed to have a great time!
The shrimp and grits and pork chop were fantastic. My wife had the crawfish bread and she said that was delicious, too.
Overall, Kingfish had great food, amazing vibes and fantastic cocktails.
Outstanding dining experience, both small and large plates. Service was excellent, food arrived hot and was both delicious and had a wonderful presentation. A real find, that offers both indoor and a pleasant, protected outdoor dining. Finally, they were most accommodating of my wife's need for Gluten-Free options.
The pizza was great. We have a friend who can't eat gluten and they have s great cauliflower crust za that was very tasty! Great vibes, just stay away from the farthest back table because the air blows super hard on it. Also, they are open late for food
It's basic food with a casual atmosphere. Decent amount of options on the menu that can accommodate kids plus gluten free options. Music was up so loud conversation was very difficult but everyone was friendly yet not overly attentive. Having 8 different items on the menu nothing was bad but nothing that was great either. Stop in and expect to get full at a fair price.
A weird, fantastic restaurant with a solid bar. The food was incredible (if there's duck, eat the duck, trust me) and the house cocktails are delicious. I had a blackberry basil mojito that was out of this world. Desserts and brunch are the best here, though -- go for the grilled grapefruit or the creme brulee. You won't be disappointed. Super easy to eat gluten free, too. Not cheap, but worth it. And it's adorably goth-lite.
Absolutely amazing! There are so many foods and sauces that are gluten free and safe for celiacs! One of the best dining experiences I have had by far! Server was incredibly friendly and helpful too!
Best po’boys in “N’Orlans” by far. The atmosphere felt really homely which added to the overall experience
There’s a bit of a line to order for good reason. There were a fair few NOLA locals that we met here that all said it’s been their go to lunch spot for years
Gluten free options were available where they essentially just removed the bread and left the filling. Was still very delicious for my wife

We held our wedding Rehearsal Dinner at the Country Club, it was an incredible experience! Heather and her team created such a special and memorable experience for us.
First and foremost, the food was impeccable. So incredibly delicious! We heard nothing but rave reviews from our guests, it was quite possibly the best salmon I’ve ever had, seriously. We had several friends who are vegan and gluten free, The Country Club provided us with a beautiful menu that had delicious options for everyone, no matter their dietary restrictions.
We decided to do all our speeches at the rehearsal dinner rather than at the wedding. The private rooms at The Country Club are so beautiful and created the ideal, intimate atmosphere we were wanting.
It was so great communicating with Heather. Unlike the *many* emails I had with other venues around the city, Heather called me and listened to our priorities and budget, and within minutes shared a delicious and thoughtful menu that worked within our price range. She walked us through the options for the different rooms and beverage options, and had no problem adjusting when we needed to add more people. Her team was very attentive during the dinner. Even though I made a mistake on ordering, the staff was quick to resolve it without issue.
It was such a beautiful night, we couldn’t have asked for anything more and are so grateful to have had such a special event at The Country Club.
Great bar and great food! Gluten free jambalaya! My husband (does not eat GF) had their fried chicken and red beans and rice and loved it. Lots of great specialties, highly recommended!!
Delicious food and pleasant service. We actually went back a second time since we enjoyed it so much. The crepes, pancaked and breakfast sandwich was all good. They had yummy gluten free pancakes the first time but unfortunately not the second.
I'm gluten allergic and our server Mary was not only a joy but super knowledgeable about gluten-free. Food was outstanding and the ambience is gorgeous. Thank you Mary and original Maspero's for an amazing experience! We'll be back!!!
Everything about this place is great and fits. Atmosphere is cool/great for all ages, nice server, gluten free friendly, and man does the food taste great. Saw fish tacos were recommended by another review…yeah, best fish tacos I’ve ever had. Fresh fish, swapped out flour for corn tortillas, when cupped everything fit perfectly…and definitely filling. Got it with yellow rice. (Which was only *slightly* dry.) 👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽
