In my short trip to Providence, I ate here three times! Two of the times, the service, drinks, and food were stellar! The other time, we ordered, then there was a huge rush after we ordered. Over an hour later, we had to find our server to ask about our meal— she hadn’t checked on us at all during that time— and she said it was still being prepared. When she brought it out, mine was cold and hard and my brother’s was steaming hot so I’m assuming our table was forgotten. My tip: don’t go during super busy times. However, during non-peak times, it was truly glorious to bite into a delicious gluten free and vegan pretzel. I hadn’t had pretzels in two decades. They were delicious! I hope in time, they expand their gf/v sauce options.

Fun trivia on Wednesdays, though often a bit hard to hear questions over the crowd. Great pizza. The hot wings aren’t very hot but still tasty - more of a smoked flavor that might be surprising if you’re expecting standard buffalo-style. Judging by the pizza only, five stars. They were able to easily accommodate my group with multiple gluten free members and a vegetarian.

The food was delicious, nice selection for every1 including gluten free & vegans. The music was a little too loud, could barely hear the waitress nevermind the people we came with at the table.

There is a lot to like about the India Restaurant, located on the northern part of the East Side in Providence on Hope Street. It is one of two Indian restaurants in the area, but both are separate and different experiences. India is the place to go for people watching as it is a larger restaurant and has a significantly expansive outdoor patio dining area. The menu has a lot of different selections. I ordered the Lamb Masala and was full when I finished my plate. A lot of other people asked for to-go containers for their meals, as the portions are healthy. I usually carry my meal in the original to-go container, the stomach. So, while portions are hearty, finishing your meal is still a doable challenge for a person with a fast metabolism, or if you just really like food. Food was tasty! I was surprised by the drink selection, as there were not really any gluten-free options available such as cider or a gluten-free beer. They did have spirits that are gluten-free, though. Food menu items were listed as gluten-free and vegan, which was helpful and made me feel safe to order what was available. I will be back here. There is a lot to explore in this area, and a great place for a first date or a night out with friends. You can take a stroll down Blackstone Boulevard or Hope Street, grab ice cream at a local store, get baked goods at Wildflour, or stop by the hardward store and look at nails and stuff. I also want to give India a thumbs-up for their work on food security in the city during the pandemic. They contributed many meals to the community in order to keep people fed. Their work continues!

CAV is one of my favorites! In a town that has so many amazing restaurants I find myself continually going back to CAV! I love the atmosphere with the oriental rugs and antiques and funky chandeliers. I love the food with many gluten-free options- chive dumplings - to “die” for the servers have all been wonderful - they are knowledgeable on the menus and what wines go well with what you ordered

From start to finish, our catered bridal shower experience was nothing short of exceptional! The team behind the scenes not only delivered delicious food but also were a joy to work with. This was my first catered event and the folks at Ellie's were so helpful. They were professional and genuinely invested in making our bridal shower unforgettable. The staff accommodated gluten-free, vegetarian and dairy free requests and the entire process was seamless and stress-free. I cannot recommend them highly enough for anyone looking to cater an event. Thanks to Stephanie, Maria, Ellen and the rest of the crew.

The entire atmosphere was phenomenal. Best meal, fresh oysters, everything tasted fresh and hot. Had oysters and Brie for appetizer along with braised short rib (pictured), swordfish, salmon, pork chop, and paella special— all amazing. Ambience and atmosphere was perfect for a celebration. Lynn, our server, made our celebration feel even more special and had great recommendations. Very able to accommodate gluten allergy.
