The menu mentions asking about gluten-free options, so I asked what was gluten-free. The answer, “everything”. They have gluten-free toast, French toast, and waffles! They also have sugar-free syrup! Having a wheat allergy and being diabetic usually means I have to be very selective. I was amazed at how accommodating this restaurant is. The food was amazing and Phillip was an excellent server!
An Unforgettable GF & VG Dining Experience at Lila – Sarasota, FL
Visiting from Ridgefield, CT, my wife Julie and I had the pleasure of dining at Lila during our trip to Sarasota for US Rowing Youth Nationals — and we were absolutely blown away. Julie follows a gluten-free and dairy-free diet, and this was hands down the best GF and DF dinner she has ever had. The flavors, presentation, and care put into each dish were exceptional.
I ordered a regular entrée (the Green Circle Airline Chicken breast) and was equally impressed — it’s clear that Lila is dedicated to delivering a high-quality experience for all diners, no matter their dietary preferences.
To top it all off, we shared the GF and DF Key Lime pie for dessert, and it was exquisite! — creamy, tangy, and the perfect finish to a memorable meal.
Thank you, Lila, for making us feel so welcome and for proving that gluten-free and dairy-free food can be both indulgent and refined. We’ll be dreaming about this meal for a long time, and look forward to coming back!
Great place, food is delicious 🤤 gluten free & vegan. Every time we are in Sarasota that’s our HAPPY 😃 PLACE. Our servers Andrey and Matt were great explaining the menu and advise us options. This was the weekend of Saturday May 3rd - Monday May 5th, 2025.
We visited from TN and we can't wait to come back and eat here again. The food is fresh and healthy. So many gluten free options too since my husband has celiac and I am gluten intolerant. The staff are so nice and willing answer any questions you have. Definitely a 10 out of 10 ☺️
I love Simon’s! I’ve been going for years and the food is always amazing! I always go for any vegan specials and the soups are always delicious and unique!
I also never leave without a dessert for later! Such a great variety of vegan, gluten free and other items!
A huge bonus is that their entire team is incredible!

We kept saying how had we never been here before! The open faced roast beef sandwich was unbelievable and the sweet potato fries come with apple butter to dip with- so good! There is some history to the place our server told us about and most things can be done gluten free. We will be coming back frequently!
Restaurant right on the water with lots of covered and not-covered seats. You can sit and enjoy all the boats going by. It gets busy so expect a bit of a wait, but you can grab a drink from the bar and wait at the picnic tables by the dock. The staff was super friendly, and the food was good. The Cesar salad with Mahi was ok, not great, but the veggie burger was really tasty. And they have gluten free burger buns.
OMG!! A REAL gluten-free donut!!!! Fresh, soft inside, with hard glaze outside - not overly sweet. Donut perfection!!!
Highly, Highly Highly recommend!!
The display of over the top donuts was so great and creative!! I had to buy a few of those for my family.
Appreciated that the attendant knew to pack the gf separately. She was pleasant and professional. It is a very cozy space - no frills but clean and effective.
Had a wonderful family dinner. Great unique dinners that are not at other restaurants. Very accommodative for gluten free selecvisit. Wonderful waitress, Sam. Price was great. Well worth the vusit.
My favorite Coffee shop in Sarasota! We moved to the area 3 years ago and I started to visit every single coffee shop, ofKors have great options of pastries and their coffee quality is excellent! The place is really Hygge🙌🏼 and they have some gluten free options that becomes our favorite.
wow ! Juliet really sucks at her job and being a kind person in general!
honestly this whole store sucks and the staff is so rude.
i ordered a grilled spicy chicken sandwich with a gluten free bun and received a deluxe grilled sandwich with a normal bun. i drove all the way back to have it corrected. i really didnt mind assuming they would be kind about it, but i then had to wait in a 15 minuet line again, i even was accused of trying to get a free sandwich and they had to go through my entire bag just to realize it was in fact their issue and not mine. we waited for another 10 minuets to finally get the new sandwich without any apologies or a free side or free sandwich card like the one on Vamo gives out when they make a mistake. They were genuinely so rude me and my boyfriend drove away with a completely ruined mood and felt like it was a huge waste of time but just let it go...
today i went back to get the same spicy grilled sandwich with gluten free bun and was AGAIN given a regular grilled sandwich with no bun at all. i waited 15 minuets for my food to come out even after a 10 minuet drive so it was frustrating having to go back again for the exact same issue. but i went back and waited in the very long disorganized line and again accused of trying to get a free sandwich, they had to go through my whole bag and kept sending out the same poor highschooler out to grab the sticker, then again to get the bag, then again to get the sandwich, then again to give me the new sandwich. i didnt receive any free card for my now 30 minuet wait because of THEIR mistake. so i decided to call the store and spoke with Juliet (maybe julia idk) and wow! she is a really bad shift supervisor! i feel so bad for whatever highschoolers are stuck dealing with her on their shift. she was rude, condescending and when i explained the situation basically accused me of trying to get a free sandwich again and offered a very fake apologies and said nothing further. i asked her for some type of refund or free meal card considering i have waisted now over half an hour dealing with THEIR mistake thats now happened 2 days in a row. she said she can offer an apology and thats all.
look. i used to work as a shift supervisor at starbucks and many other little places throughout my years so i completely understand the balance of trying to make the customer happy while also making your boss happy while also meeting company standards and policies... ALL while getting paid a completely unlivable wage... i get it. i really didnt mind going back, i understand people make mistakes and i always appreciated when people were patient with me at starbucks when me or my team made a mistake. i also offered them a free drink and a very genuine apology because i understand we all live busy lives.
but juliet not only was just completely bad at her job and customer service but she was honestly just a mean, condescending rude and un kind person. she doesn't deserve to be a shift or even work at a company that preaches Christian values of kindness and love. its honestly ridiculous that i had to fight for a damn free meal card when this location always screws something up and is wasting now hours of my life.
i could honestly go on and on about how horrible this experience with juliet was but if the owner or regional manager is seeing this, you should understand by now there is an issue with this branch and the people you have running it when your not there. i just wanted a kind interaction and maybe a free lemonade card or something simple to make up for all the wasted time. instead i get a cold sandwich 30 minuets later that i should have gotten in the first place.
and juliet, fix your attitude. your a grown adult capable of being kind. you messed up, take accountability and move on like a mature woman. instead of being condescending because you hate your life and your job. grow up.
Great place to eat! I can always count on Bonefish Grill when I'm hungry and need something tasty and filling. I'm gluten free and they have a dedicated menu for us GF peeps.
Servers are always friendly and attentive. I always get the sirloin and shrimp with the garlic potatoes. Make sure to try the chimmichurri, it's wonderful with the steak and shrimp! Everyone in my family gets the same thing because it's so tasty. And yes, it's on the gluten free menu.
There's also gluten free desserts, there are two you can enjoy: The Macadamia Nut Brownie and the Creme Brûlée.
Great atmosphere, service, consistently great food, dietary restriction friendly... What's not to love? This place is a staple for my household.
Super cute shop with excellent variety of coffees and gourmet pastries. Absolutely loved the pumpkin cheesecake muffin (gluten free and vegan!) My pumpkin latte was perfrct with oat milk. Roomy seating, games shelf for anyone, nice coffee bar. The parking is tight but worth it!
There are so many good breakfast spots in Sarasota and Oasis is in the top 5 in my opinion. The food is fresh, the menu is creative, the specials are … well special. They have gluten free options Everything I have had here is outstanding and it has become one of our goto breakfast spot. They also serve what I believe is the best Huevos Rancheros in town. It’s def a creative interpretation of the dish but is absolutely delicious Highly recommended.
Mckenna was our server and she was amazing! My burger was delish and the gluten free bun wasn’t bad. I sat outside. I likely would t have wanted to eat inside as very loud and cold. I’ll be back for the steak!
We had a wonderful time here today for lunch. Loved the menu selections, something for every appetite. The gluten free bread is a quality brand and goes well with a sandwich. The portion sizes are just right for the pricing. We were seated right away and had great service from multiple team members throughout our lunch. The manager Jay, comes right up to your table and says hi, which I love, a nice personal touch which makes you feel welcomed and not rushed. This place is busy! I loved seeing how much fun the staff was having while giving great service. Next time we will sit outside on the water side, it looks beautiful. Definitely a great spot to meet up with friends and family! P.s. the mimosas are fantastic!
Highly recommend this local, woman-led cafe gem! I’ve tried half of the menu and everything has been gastronomic perfection. Seriously. The chef was a former private chef for a variety of celebrities and it shows. She ships in real Brooklyn bagels, every day, and works with local suppliers to create exquisite meals for pretty much every taste. I’m a big fan of the baked goods too, which include vegan raspberry croissants and gluten free fare. A rare and gourmet cafe experience!
Our waiter, Paul, was absolutely amazing. I have a gluten allergy and he was able to tell me what did and didn’t have gluten, including sauces, and provided me with a gluten free BBQ sauce since none of their other BBQ sauces on the table are gluten free. He was extremely kind as well!

Amazing food, staff, and atmosphere. The restaurant was very accommodating to my wife’s Gluten allergy. The smoked chicken was so moist and Gluten free with savory sides to match. It is very difficult to find a restaurant that produces true Gluten free with such amazing quality and taste, yet we have found the diamond in the rough with Yoders!. They even offer a multitude of pies both gluten free and traditional. I have never had a better pie in my life. The answer is yes this should be your next meal!
Their biscuits are out of this world, the best in town! They have regular or gluten free sweet potato biscuits they are both 10/10. Their biscuits and gravy and baked eggs are fantastic! There’s always very yummy pastries and treats in their display case as well. Not crazy about their drinks but the food will knock your socks off.
Was there in mid December 2024, sat outside, waiter was great, had burgers (I am GF, had the swiss mushroom on GF bread, no issue, but I am not celiac), burgere were exceptionally good. Espresso Martini also very good. Will be back!
Classic New York Jewish deli, food, and more. Good gluten-free options available. Pastrami was a little greasy, but had great Smoky flavor. If you like deli pickles, be sure to order - they're good, and they were only .10 for two.
The blueberry streusel gluten free keto doughnut was shockingly good. Hard to believe really. My husband had a breakfast sandwich that was also great. Atmosphere inside was calm and exactly what we wanted.
Incredible service as soon as you walk in the door. Very prompt and friendly. I am gluten free and the gf pancakes were amazing (Apple cinnamon). Never felt sick afterwards. The bacon on the side was delicious. Not sure where they get their bacon or how they make it, but it's a must have. The orange juice was also freshly squeezed and wonderful. Will definitely go back next time I'm in the area.
We had Damian as our server, and he was so much fun! They were pretty busy, and I only noticed 2 people taking care of all the tables. Damian, let us give our whole order. He didn't have his notepad as he was only planning on our drink orders. However, he memorized our order, and the order came out exactly as it was given. It wasn't the easiest order, either. My husband and I both got crepes, with mine being a gluten-free crepe. The food and service were great. It's too bad we don't live closer, because this would be a new favorite.
Delicious and cozy. Really friendly staff. My kid and I sat at the bar. Great playlist. Loved the vibe. The Sunnyside burger was huge! They made it gluten free for my kid - hence the toast instead of a bun. She said it’s the best burger she’s had in years! She finished it! And the homemade fries lol! I had the Sunnyside salad. Swapped kale for arugula and I am 💯 percent returning for this zesty, fresh salad! The roasted chickpeas and avocado in lemon are a culinary experience.
Absolutely Unacceptable and Dangerous for Anyone with Allergies or Health Conditions
We recently stayed in Siesta Key and, as loyal customers of Pura Vida who eat there 2–3 times per week, we made a special effort to drive an hour to this location, trusting it would uphold the same standards. Unfortunately, what we experienced was shocking negligence—especially from a business that markets itself as “healthy” while charging premium prices (and still serving food in plastic, by the way).
I have severe dietary restrictions due to a recent surgery—specifically no soy, gluten, or dairy. I communicated this multiple times over two consecutive days to the same employee: a young blonde woman with blue eyes working under a manager named John (if I recall correctly). She appeared to take my concerns seriously: entered the order in front of me, checked the allergy binder, and even confirmed that substituting Chipotle Aioli for Ginger Soy was safe for me.
And yet—I was still served food containing allergens I explicitly told them I could not have. The exact ingredients I said I must avoid were in the food I was given. I ended up in the hospital during what was supposed to be a relaxing vacation.
To make matters worse, there’s no direct phone number to reach this location to even speak to someone about what happened. For a brand that claims to care about wellness, this level of irresponsibility is appalling.
If you have serious allergies, dietary restrictions, or health concerns—DO NOT trust this place with your wellbeing. What happened to me was not just careless; it was dangerous.
The CUTEST little breakfast cottage. I just can't say enough good things! Every little detail was just so comforting. From the toy kits handed out to every kid, to the unique salt and pepper shakers on every table, down to the miniature tin watering cans that held your receipt. The vintage feel was just so charming. We arrived at about 9:30 and there were lots of people waiting outside. We assumed the wait would be long, but she said 5 minutes. It was less than 5 minutes and we were already seated with drinks. And our food came out so fast! They have such a quick and organized operation but you don't feel rushed. Ciara was our waitress and although VERY busy, she was so sweet and very attentive to all of her tables. She was very knowledge on the menu and even built me the BEST gluten free french toast since I really wanted the lemon lavender blueberry pancakes but couldn't have the gluten. We noticed she was also bussing her tables! She was really awesome and I feel like she deserves the recognition. We are from Baltimore and we love supporting local. I am so glad we stumbled upon this gem!
AMAZING!! The food was incredible! Flavorful and cooked to perfection. The bakery offered several items including a few gluten free options. Their seasonal menu had a variety of items including apple cider mimosas! Service was superior. Watched a server help an elderly regular customer as though they were family. Very glad we made the decision to stop here today. Thanks for the wonderful experience.
Love this place! Stumbled upon it during my vacation and could not be happier. Great for my gluten free/vegan people. Doesn’t taste like artificial sugars/sweetener; it’s very natural and filling!
In a town with a lot of great breakfast options this is one of my favorites. Super fresh, gluten free options, great omelettes and the hash brown casserole is amazing.
All the staff is really nice. Angie waited on us today and she was lovely. Checked on us often but not too much! She made sure we had lots of ice tea and everything else we needed.
We’ve never been disappointed at this cafe!
I don’t know what happened to this place!
We used to come here often because they had a great gluten-free burger (the OMG burger) and an excellent chicken milanesa with a nice arugula and cherry tomato salad.
Then suddenly, everything changed. One day we went back and the gluten-free bun was awful—dry and stale. The burger patty had no flavor and was completely dry, even though we ordered it medium. It honestly felt like they had changed the entire menu.
And what they still list as a “chicken milanesa” on the menu is no longer a milanesa. I’m honestly outraged. I ordered a milanesa, which means a breaded chicken cutlet, and what I got was a tiny piece of grilled chicken completely dry and flavorless.
I don’t know if they changed the owners or the chef, but what I do know is that I definitely won’t be coming back.

We’ve visited Jack Dusty at The Ritz-Carlton multiple times and have generally loved our experiences. Our recent dinner in early May was no exception in terms of ambiance — the setting was beautiful and perfect for a relaxing evening. The service was attentive and friendly, which we always appreciate.
However, we did notice a dip in the food quality compared to previous visits. It seemed like the kitchen might have been in between seasons or adjusting their menu, which could explain the inconsistency. Additionally, we were disappointed to find no gluten-free/vegetarian options available. In today’s culinary landscape, offering gluten-free choices is quite straightforward for chefs, so it was a bit surprising that this wasn’t accommodated.
Overall, still a lovely spot with great service and ambiance, but we hope to see a return to the high standards of food quality and more inclusive menu choices on our next visit.
Beautiful spot, waitress was very sweet and helpful, food was delicious. We hadn’t had Venezuelan food before, so this spot was a great first experience. Side note, if you are gluten sensitive this is may be a good spot. Most of the food was made with a corn flour. I didn’t ask if it’s made out of just corn, but my stomach felt fine after.
Waitress also mentioned that the wait time might be a little longer than normal restaurants because everything is made from scratch. Although it didn’t end up taking long at all, our meals tasted fresh and whoever was the chef definitely had passion for their craft.
I do wish there was a 4.5 star option, only because it was a bit pricey. Coffee and mocha we got were also good, just seemed over priced. $4.50 for a small, plain black coffee in this economy hurt a little.
We were very pleased with this little cozy cafe located at St Armond in Sarasota. The manager and our server were extremely helpful and friendly. We had a couple of food allergies to navigate and they took great care of us!
The service was very quick and our food was delicious. The portions were much larger than we expected.
Highly recommend this place for breakfast AND lunch. It was nice that they have gluten free bread available.
What a gem! This place is adorable. Great place to go alone or with a group. My wife has celiac and we were concerned about that darn wheat in the tea. Well, the owner brought out the book from the supplier and according to their site none of their teas have gluten. This meant my wife could enjoy nearly every drink on the menu. The tea was delicious!!! But the atmosphere was even better.
Used to love this place but lately it’s been on the decline. There is too much competition in the area for this to happen. Step up your game or I’ll have to stick with ONLY the gluten free cheese cake option…I don’t think they can mess that up!
The food was clean, fresh, delicious, gluten-free options available. Wait staff was excellent. The only thing that could be an improvement is an outdoor eating space. Otherwise absolutely fantastic and I know we were cared for by the manager, delicioso, will be back. Highly recommend! What do you thank
We were visiting from out of town and wanted to grab some food before heading to the airport, and we could not have made a better choice! Great food, affordable prices, nice atmosphere and very friendly staff, and they also are very accommodating to the gluten free/dairy free crowd. You won't go wrong with this place!
This morning, I ordered an eggs Benedict. They were accommodating in providing gluten free toast for me, however the advertised smoked ham appeared to be a deli cut piled onto it, instead of a smoked ham steak like one would expect. The eggs as well, while poached nicely runny by the chef, had lost most of its whites leaving just the small parts of whites around the yolk, likely due to poaching in an open pot of boiling water instead of any form of vessel to preserve the whites.
However, that doesn’t constitute a one star review alone. By far, the most egregious issue is that they charged me $4 for hot tea. A ceramic coffee mug, pot of hot water and a selection of tea packets was given to me. The tea was not brewed for me by the waiter, nor was the tea anything rare or expensive. There’s no justifying this cost. Fifty cents would be more acceptable, given the time used by staff to dispense already hot water from their coffee machine and carry that with the tea over to me.
Despite the flaws of the Benedict, I was willing to give the restaurant a second chance later, the juice blend I ordered was quite refreshing, but the price for self made tea was a slap in my face on the way out that I can’t really forgive.
