Nice cafe with indoor and outdoor seating. Had some gluten free options. The gf burger was huge but would have been better with some gf mayo/dressing to ’hold’ the salad ingredients together as they fell out too easily onto the table. Some little gift items and vegetables available for purchase too. Recommend this place.

Have been here many times and it's seriously the best food every time and service is always prompt and friendly. They take coeliacs seriously and made sure my meal was safe for me. The Avo on toast is amazing. So is everything really!!

We were on holiday last week. On the first night we decided to try the stables because our young son has celiac. We told the waitress when she took our drink order and she informed the chef. The chef even went so far as to double check which of our children was celiac by coming to our table. Our son was able to enjoy fish and chips with the family. It was made in its own gf fryer. Afterwards, he had a warm gf brownie with cream for dessert. He had zero adverse side effects which usually come on 48-72 hours after eating gluten. It went so well that we decided to come back 5 days later for dinner. Everything was fabulous from the wait staff to the cocktails (I highly recommend the berry fizz). Will be back the next time we are in Nelson.

Excellent experience here. Great setting under cover but warm n sunny. Uncluttered menu; choices for everyone including gluten free. They understand Celiac and catered for my needs . They catered for the mokopuna too making them an icecream sundae 🍨 Local wines & beers available; non alcoholic too. Will be back

While visiting Richmond from Whangarei,We had our breakfast three mornings here.So yummy and cooked beautifully. My husband is gluten free and there are plenty of g/f options too. Fantastic coffee and friendly staff.We for recommend Lydia's Cafe from our hosts where we stayed and will recommend to our friends and Family who head to Nelson

This is our default eat out. Great food, good proportion, excellent gluten free options. Separate fryer for chips if you ask. Amazing local staff and owners! Good small town rustic atmosphere.

Coeliacs beware - after being assured my meal was gluten free to a coeliacs standard I found oats in the cracker. The rest of the day and the next I was very unwell. Beautiful food, but not worth the risk.

The best Cafe in town! Great friendly staff owned by a family. Has amazing coffee and heaps of history behind all the different types. We had Katsu and Karaage chicken Donburi’s and they were so tender and filled with heaps of flavour. They also cater for gluten free options. We always eat there when we come up to Motueka, 10/10 recommend 🤩

I ordered the vegetarian glutenfree wrap with a green tea. So nice to find something different in the cabinet. Most cafes have a salad or fritters. Really enjoyed it. Tea was good too, and stayed lovely and hot. Thank you. My partner enjoyed his coffee and pie too. Friendly staff. All smiling and looking as though they enjoy there jobs. Cheers

We had a great evening at the Mussel Inn last night. My hubby is a Coeliac, I'd emailed last week to ask if they could cater for him. This was the prompt email back.... "Yes, we can cater for coeliacs. When you’re here and ordering, please ask for the gf menu and then reiterate your coeliac requirement. We wash utensils, use different pans, etc so please emphasise coeliac rather than simply gluten free." I can 100% say that hubby had a brilliant Spicy Goat Ragou. I had the ribeye steak & our daughter the nachos. We all enjoyed meals, drinks & the atmosphere was fantastic. This place is a legend for a reason!
