First visit to the cosy club but definitely won't be my last. Also very attentive to one of my guests that is celiac. Excellent menu and excellent service
We hadn't booked on a Saturday night but were able to sit outside. Glad we did, the pizza was amazing, mine waa gluten free and was soft and seemed freshly made, usually they are prepared and crispy. Served by Ellie who was spot on, friendly and helpful. Good spot for people watching and having a meal before a show.
Dead good gluten free menu. Service is lovely and easy with the clips for drinks and when you’re ready to order. Food was lush, loved the loaded duck fries and seaweed
I went here with my partner, the food is incredible, the service is top notch and sincere, the atmosphere is perfect, location is great, easy to find. Lots of vegan, veggie and gluten free options. Just an all round five star! Huge car park right nearby
Stunning building although gluten free options, though their website hasn't been updated in years so don't use their website for gluten free menu options!!!
Terrible experience from lack of flavour food to the awful service from Josh the assistant Man...
Aug 2024
My wife and I take a date night/ day each month as we have a hectic life with work and 7 year old little girl.
Yesterday we wanted to travel up to leeds from Derby to enjoy a Virgin holiday gift voucher that, I bought for my wife for Xmas.
The start of our experience and Brasserie Blanc Leeds, was as expected good.
Helpful as my wife is Gluten and dairy intolerant. (Unfortunately not loads on the menu for choice, however ran through the options).
THATS when our experience and day got RUINED!
The waiter came across and asked how the meal was, I had mentioned that mine wasn't great (king prawns) however had eaten it as l was starving (I had been up since 3am and had a yogurt, whilst traveling).
The prawns were over cooked and dry and the main was under seasoned.
The assistant manager Josh came over and asked also, I mentioned it to him and said I don't want to complain it's just my personal opinion and my wife's was like a watery broth that also lacked flavour.
Response was excuses instead of trying to help. I had made a comment that Greggs would have more flavour.
After 30 minutes no one came over to take our deserts order. Josh made every effort not to come over to us.
Which we got up and left and gave Josh the voucher.
As we were leaving a lady did come out to apologise and Josh stood at the door. l asked why he didn't come over and said I thought you had been served as the menus were not in the table, I mentioned you had been serving us this afternoon and knew I didn't enjoy my main meal.
More excuses came out. God awful customer service!
As we were walking away Josh made a flippant remark "enjoy your Greggs!" This is shameful and uncalled for! Appalling behaviour that I wouldn't expect!
I had a fantastic time celebrating mine and a friends 60th birthdays. The first time I have been but am sure it won't be the last.
Having coeliac disease is always a worry when eating out, from my initial phone conversation to being served on the evening we went I felt completely at ease. Food was delicious and the evening was topped off with the amazing Overtones.
We’re always very conscious of booking fine dining restaurants due to my gluten intolerance so always check ahead of time as we understand adapting a set tasting menu can be difficult however - V&V is marketed as gluten intolerant friendly, and I’d suggest this is not quite the case if you’re expecting a GF menu of the same standard as the original.
We were served the second course first without communication that we weren’t going to be getting the first(?!) the bread course was quite clearly shop bought Genius (or similar) bread which is the spongiest and blandest on the market. Dishes skipped the sauce due to the ingredients having gluten in, which made them also bland. Most courses lacked the element of having ingredients you wouldn’t expect to go together, work and therefore wow you which you’d expect for an almost Michelin star priced menu.
The good parts!! We had a dish swapped out due to the restrictions and were given a Thai-style peanut/coriander/courgette/lychee plate which had the experimental/imaginative Michelin quality described above - please put this on the regular menu! The final dessert was prepared/developed by one of the other chefs and it was absolutely beautiful - crumbed carrot cake and chocolate mousse (this was the winner).
The service was great, the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Tableware and crockery for each dish were at the standard you’d expect for fine dining and a lovely touch. I personally loved the atmosphere, the playlist was fun and created a great vibe.
Overall as someone with dietary restrictions I won’t be returning, however my experience is not the norm, so I wouldn’t take this as gospel if you are not the same.
