Excellent experience as a diner with Coeliac disease.
Told the lady as we went in, and the waiter reconfirmed when he came to take the drink order. So reassuring to know the staff were communicating.
Bart was great throughout the meal.
We went along for the pub quiz on Monday night and had dinner before it. Had a lovely meal and great friendly service. Especially good for GLUTEN FREE - my wife is coeliac but had an amazing chicken burger and chips! Thank us for a fun evening.
I recently visited Olé Tapas Bar in Wolverton, Milton Keynes, and it was an exceptional experience. Tucked away in the historic Triangle Building, the restaurant exudes a cozy and authentic Spanish ambiance. The warm welcome from Beatriz and the attentive staff made us feel right at home.
We started with the Olé Platter, a generous selection perfect for sharing. It featured suckling pig croquettes, crispy chicken strips, chorizo lollipops, and Padrón peppers, all served with chorizo mayo. Each item was freshly prepared, bursting with flavor, and beautifully presented.
For mains, the Arroz Negro stood out—a rich squid ink rice dish with fresh squid and prawns, accompanied by aioli. The depth of flavor was remarkable, and the seafood was cooked to perfection. We also enjoyed the Gambas al Ajillo, garlic prawns served with crispy garlic and hot smoked paprika, which were both aromatic and delicious.
The dessert was a delightful surprise. The churros were crispy on the outside, soft inside, and came with a luscious chocolate orange sauce. However, the highlight was the rice pudding, which was creamy, sweet, and topped with caramelized sugar—a perfect end to the meal.
Olé Tapas Bar offers an authentic taste of Spain with a menu that caters to various dietary preferences, including vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options. The combination of exceptional food, warm hospitality, and a charming atmosphere makes it a must-visit spot in Milton Keynes.
Harlee was an absolute Angel, couldn’t do more for us as an annoying big table of 8. She was constantly on our drinks order for bottomless brunch, we had awkward people for food - gluten free, no spicy, no bread etc and nothing was too much for her. I would reccomend her in a heartbeat, we’ve been to turtle bay before for bottomless brunch in Northampton and it doesn’t even compare to the service Harlee gave us. For a birthday brunch in December she was amazing, thank you soo so much
Our first dining “in” experience since the end of lockdown.
Following receipt of an offer, a birthday drink on the house, I was reminded that BB had a restaurant in Milton Keynes, so we booked in advance.
The restaurant was little way out of Centre MK, (google maps direction were rubbish, but we did find the location fairly easy).
The weather was wet and windy, in stark contrast to the warm friendly welcome in the bright and cheerful restaurant. The staff were brilliant, we have a number of allergies, one person requiring gluten free and black pepper free, and another a soya allergy, no issues. Chose what you want and we will check with chef was the prompt response. One starter ruled out as the pate have integral black pepper.
Starter of crab and avocado, no gluten or pepper hit the mark as did beetroot and hot smoked salmon, tenser covered the allergies and I enjoyed the pâté.
Mains two rump steaks and duck leg confit these were equally good.
Service excellent, good food what more can you ask
Lovely food! Lovely place. Our waitress Amelie was amazing. It’s tricky to find food I can eat being Veggie and Gluten free but she checked with the manager and the kitchen and was able to swap out the bits I couldn’t eat so that I was still able to have a lovely and satisfying meal!
Thank you to all- all the staff who came to our table were lovely, bubbly and kind!
And massive thank you to Amelie for being so helpful! 🌸
Popped in yesterday at lunch time, was extremely busy.
But this did not effect Kia's outstanding customer service.
She was polite and friendly and calmly explained what was on offer.
Coffee was tasty and gluten free cake was lovely.
Be returning with the family.
We had such an amazing experience at the Bella Italia in Milton Keynes. I am gluten free and dairy free and I was blown away with the amount of things on the menu o could eat.
They even had cookie dough for dessert which I polished off very quickly.
The service was exceptional from the moment we stepped through the door and the lady that served us called Rebeka was amazing. She was knowledgeable, attentive and so friendly. It’s been a long time since we have had service like that. We will definitely be going back.
£80 for two adults and a child, a lot for a few pizzas, in particular the gluten free pizza was shocking. It was over £20, just look at the photo (iphone for scale), it speaks for itself. You get better lookin frozen pizzas for a few pounds these days. Just taking advantage of those with allergies, gluten free flour isn't particularly expensive! The salad bar, including dressings, was very sad. Maybe it was better stocked earlier in the day, the pictures show it around 7pm and it wasn't restocked (OK if you only want a tomotos and jalapeños I suppose! ) after that, apart from some dressing. That was only because I asked for it, even then a tiny amount (see photo of single dressing, which was after refilling!) was poured on top of grated carrots, sweetcorn and tortilla crumbs. Yuck.
The food is OK, really much the same as it has been for years. No offers in the restaurant, seems they would rather you get delivery these days, as it wasnt worth the price. May order delivery, as still one of few gluten free options for pizza, but won't eat in again after that experience. For that price you can get much better elsewhere in MK.
We love Bogota coffee! During the transformation of our new Hub salon we kept the team of 'trades' going with regular coffee from Bogota. At one point we thought if we stopped bringing them coffee they would walk out! Now our own team are 'regulars' and rave about the coffee - but we also recommend their scrummy lemon chicken sandwich. Bogota are very geared for those needing gluten free products as well. Would highly recommend them if you are in or near to The Hub:MK.
We come this way two to three times a year and now we have found The Oligarch we will be returning on our next visit. A special mention to Georgia our waitress who was excellent and made sure my food was gluten free, brilliant and thank you.
Lovely restaurant. Delicious food and excellent service. I'm gluten free and the staff but me at ease with their knowledge of the ingredients in each of the dishes. Also, lots of choices of gluten free dishes.
Fantastic! Ordered 2 breakfasts. My partners gluten free but we don’t make a fuss if there’s no gf bread and sausage we’re more than used to it and gladly have whatever he can. The last was brilliant unfortunately they had sole the last gf bread but she looked in the freezer and found us a brioche bun for him and gave him an extra slice of bacon to compensate for the lack of sausage. All the staff were really friendly and the cafe was absolutely spotless. The coffee was great too. Very reasonably priced.
Avoid if you are gluten free!
I went there as the menu said gluten free available.
I only ordered 2 gf cooked breakfast for me and my sister.
First off we went and ordered then the cafe got quite busy with office staff they were all served food before us!
As our breakfast came out I asked the girl to make sure the sausages were gluten free (you just have an eye for it after a while) she took our plates swapped bread for gf bread on the same plates. Then said there was only a little bit of wheat in the sausages 🤣
Obviously I refused and She did swap 2 sausages for like half a slice of "bacon".
I think running any food business and staff need to be clued up on allergies.
I think you need to take off the "gluten free options" on your menu before you do someone damage. I would rather be refused service because of my allergies then risk illness.
I came here a few weeks ago with my family, intending to have dinner and a drink. We were shown to our seats and were asked if we had any allergies, which we did - one gluten free person. They informed us to look for the "GF" stated next to the food options, and those were what could be chosen. We chose drinks fairly soon after and asked for 2 more minutes to choose food. 40 minutes later our drinks came and we ordered our food. We all placed our order but were unable to place the order for the gluten-free family member as someone else had to take that order. They came about 5 minutes later and asked if we had looked at the GF menu - which we had not been given or told about. We explained no, and he said well I'll have to check what you want against that menu. The affected family member had checked the menu and found one thing she liked, so asked for that. We were told this was not on the GF menu even though it had the option of being GF on the menu we were given. I would like to state that the person who showed us to our table was the manager, and he was the person doing the allergen taking at this time. Due to the time it took to be served and the misinformation regarding the allergen menu, we chose to leave and not eat there.
Warm In cafe lovely also very lovely lunch food and drink and have there Vegan and vegetable also free gluten. I did try to taste a healthy homemade Cafe Match latte it was lovely and lunch was American maple and bacon yam lovely.
Excellent cafe for gluten free breakfast, with veggie and vegan options too. The owners/staff are very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend if you're near the station.
