It’s ok. Very hit or miss depending on who is working that day. Had a really good crepe, and they have great options for vegan and gluten free. Perfect for middle of the day remote work because outlets are marked and it’s not full of people midday during the week.
Steer clear.
An overall unpleasant experience. They were out of several dishes, omitted components entirely (avocado on the salmon) or had made substitutions without letting us know - (ricotta (?) for creme fraiche on the bolognese, and most shocking: a corn tortilla for a gluten-free bun on a burger).
On the upside the service was suitable - our server did their best considering the circumstances and their own frustration with the restaurant's lack of detail and basic ingredients.
Hopefully management / ownership can right the ship - where its headed now is down, down, down...
🫶YUM for gluten-free options - I go there when I crave waffles or pancakes.
💛Chris and the staff are incredibly kind and greet us warmly whenever we visit. This was the 1st place we went to when restaurants started opening and 4 years later, it’s the place my kids still ask for when we go out to eat.
⭐️As a mom of children with varying degrees of neurodivergent children, we feel so safe and welcomed.
Go check them out - great for families and plenty of seating inside and out!
Lovely place with lovely food and lovely people. And they can substitute their breads with gluten free options. Had a lovely chicken sandwich. Oh and their turmeric latte is delish 💕
I came to this place on a whim! What a cute little spot. There are cozy tables inside and outside. I had the best pistachio latte ever! They have a small menu, including gluten-free items and baked goods. But the pistachio gelato cake is the best! Pinar was really friendly and super helpful.
Super cute space, a tiny step up at the front door so I don't know how that would work for people in wheeled devices, but I was limping kinda hard when I came in and I was able to navigate it easily. Delicious food with gluten free and vegetarian options. Delicious gluten free desserts, and fantastic rotisserie chicken.
The iced vanilla decaf latte with oat milk was smooth and delightful. The impossible burger with gluten-free bread was average. Definitely needed a better plate presentation. The side salad dressing had too much vinegar.
The food was so delicious! My friend and I got this platter to share with hummus, shawarma, eggplant salad, and beets salad. They provided regular pita and gluten free laffa for my friend. Really delicious and nutritious!
Zeugma is such a lovely spot with delicious and incredibly fresh food! I came here with a group of four friends for brunch on a Saturday and while the place was busy, I didn't feel that it was overly loud or overwhelming. I would definitely recommend reservations during some of the peak times but it's a relatively large restaurant so I'm sure you'd be able to eventually get seated either way.
One of my friends is a vegetarian and gluten-free and she had no issues finding a bunch of options to choose from on the menu. I love that everything is clearly labeled if it is vegan, vegetarian or gluten-free which makes life a lot easier for people with dietary restrictions.
We started out with the mezze platter to share; you can choose any 3 mezzes. We opted for the Avogannush, Antakya Hummus, and Beet Heaven. For my main course, I got the Beet Falafel Wrap which comes with some delicious thin-sliced fries. It was extremely filling but not in a bad way; you won't feel overly stuffed after eating any of this food. I could tell that even the fries were made in a high-quality oil.
If you love clean, fresh ingredients and chill, trendy vibe, Zeugma is a must-try!
Outrageous crepes, gluten- free available also. Great soups & lattes . Nice weather outdoor seating. This is a very small place so I always get take out. Nice staff !
I can’t say enough about the incredible experience we all had at HALCYON Montclair. I threw a bridal shower that was perfection from start to finish. The staff was attentive, friendly, engaging, helpful, and everything you would want them to be. The food was prepared in a stunning way and abundant and was as delicious as it was beautiful. No less than 10 out of 30 people in attendance told me the chicken was the best they had ever had ( it really really was) . The other 15 said the salmon was the best they had ever had and the last five couldn’t stop raving about the pasta. I had quite a few dietary restrictions ( lots of celiacs in the crowd) and they handled it like pros. The decor is absolutely fantastic and fit in with our “love is in bloom” theme perfectly!
I could go on and on, but I will just say that if you have a party at HALCYON, you will be so glad that you did! I can’t wait to go back!!! .
Was there last night to celebrate my 18th birthday. There was 8 of us, we came at 6:30 and were basically the only people in the restaurant and we left around 8-8:30. To start off: the food was great, especially the spinach dip though if you have a gluten intolerance you specifically have to ask for corn chips. We had a variety of food (Mac and cheese, empanadas, salads and burgers) and everyone agreed the Mac and cheese was the best. The staff and owner?/manager? Was super sweet, wanting feedback since we are a big younger than their typical demographic. This is something I really appreciated knowing that they are constantly looking at ways to improve their menu to better suite a wide range of people. Do not even get me started on the desserts they were AMAZING over 10/10 will come back also quick shout out to Dez our server who put up with 8 high school girls for 2 hours
Not sure if its because of covid or worker shortages but everything is self order and pay on a smartphone. You do not have a server to ask questions and only a runner brings you your food and drinks. This made it feel kinda like a fast food restaurant, think shake shack. I went with one other person who had questions about gluten free options and what was actually in the cocktails, but there was noone to ask. Not for us.
Sayola uses top quality ingredients. Their menu has a lot of gluten free options. Portion sizes are incredible.
I get their ribeye and my fiance gets the paella. The ribeye is enough for two meals.. the paella is enough for 4+.
Once you factor in the quality of the ingredients and the size of the portions, you realize that sayola is a great place to eat high quality foods.
Highly recommend!
This place is super cute and has a delicious menu! I’m gluten free and dairy free and our server answered all of my questions about the food politely and even double checked something when he thought the chef misunderstood the question, saving me from getting sick!
I got the pollo a la brasa, my friend got the pork and both were delicious. My only complaint is that in my opinion the maduros weren’t ripe enough but I enjoyed this spot and will come again happily!
There’s lots of tables here and space for eating.
Delicious food and amazing ambiance! The grilled octopus and roasted chicken are absolute must-tries 😍. The chocolate coulant dessert was the perfect sweet finish—like the cherry on top! Plus, they offer fantastic gluten-free options too!
My husband and I finally made it out to have dinner at Le Souk. We have been living in the area forever and yet it was our first time. And we were very pleasantly surprised! First, we were welcomed by the very cozy and intimate atmosphere coming in from freezing temperatures. We loved the “cluttered” decor and the delicious smells of spices in the air. The menu suited our vegetarian and my gluten-free diet and the dishes very absolutely scrumptious! The service was excellent and the even chef came out to inquire after our experience. We will certainly be back!
